Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.
We can also use other tools to remove hard ear wax, foreign bodies, peeling dead skin or for ear infection removal.
All the ear wax cleaning videos you see on our channel are carried out by our ear wax specialists Mr Rhys Barber and Mr Taylor Green at Audiology Associates.
We post new ear cleaning videos Monday - Friday at 9PM GMT so if you find ear wax removal satisfying please consider subscribing to our channel.
Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
    How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.

I enjoy the medical terminology mixed in, it does keep one oriented that these are real medical procedures. I have to add that I think your energy is amazing, 20 minutes of voice over with no dead air and that with only a camera to talk to. Thank you

I’ve watched your videos for a long time and I enjoy them. I don’t understand how anyone thinks they have the right to tell you how to make them. I’ve never once considered telling you how you should explain things. You offer the viewers free content and I know you want to make all viewers happy but people need to let you do your own thing. Please explain things how you feel the most comfortable.

I absolutely totally agree. I think those of us, who have been with Rhys longer than Taylor even, have watched him evolve. His early videos showed Rhys in the learning UA-cam stage. He was always so kind & patient. Now if we see what we perceive as disrespectful comments, it makes us very protective. Just my thoughts 🩵🩵🩵🩵

A lot of us like the medical terminology. I know I do. Those watching just for the gross pictures probably won't mind what you say, but for those that understand all the parts of the ear and the conditions, having you use the correct terms, relays so much in a single sentence. It's one of the things I enjoy about your videos. You are actually explaining the diagnoses, and how they manifest, not just going, "EWW> Look at this! It's gross !"

Great compilation video! I liked the format. Sadly for the patient, that’s the best view of a canal cholesteatoma I’ve seen. I hope s/he can get to see ENT quickly. Finally, unlike other commenters, I can understand how the patient didn’t know the dome was stuck in his ear. Thanks for another great video Rhys.
It had lots of interesting ears wax on it. Caught this on facebook also. Happens that way sometimes. Prefer to watch you on UA-cam channel. Well anyway all the wax removals were done greatly by yourself. My compliments to you Rhys for your professionalism. The last one you did was very interesting. Never heard about that before. You do a great job of explaining these situations to us using regular language or your medical terminology. Either way is fine with me.

I think they really like patients to use medical grade olive oil..if they don’t have any other concomitant conditions like ear drum perforations, mastoid cavity surgery..etc.. I have used olive oil at home but it is a patience game.. at first it feels like you’ve plugged your ear up (only do one ear at a time just in case this happens then you’ll have one ear left to hear with 😅* but the olive oil really does work to get your wax naturally moving down and out the canal. But always check with your doctor before doing any of this.

Hello Rhys and Taylor. I have been watching for more than a year now from the USA. I was wondering if you can do a short video to show what makes up the 'S' curve and where the boney/sensitive area of the ear begins. Thanks

I’m very happy my ears are healthy after seeing this video. Thank you for describing it so thoroughly.

I don’t know if y’all have answered this somewhere before, but how do you approach the patient about putting these videos on the UA-cam channel? I’d be interested to know how people tend to react, like do people have questions about it or so some patients not want their videos posted or anything?

I just found you guys! This is the best ear channel I've found. Much better than the other Brit I used to watch. ❤

What kinds of D.r or clinic to go to and get this procedure done?

Fantastic video full of interesting tidbits and different issues with each ear shown. Loved the variety. I don’t mind Rhys if you use technical words or plain words to describe what’s happening inside the ear. Appears more relaxed and fun without the medical terms, however I realise other followers may prefer the tecky stuff. Maybe just mix it up slightly Rhys. Love your videos. ❤
