This is the result of street vending & no bins in the city. This place was still there during KK days & we never had this mess. I have also said that we don’t need open drainages where people throw in the rubbish & blocks up the drainages. East Park & all the shopping centres don’t get flooded like this & yet they’re places in Lusaka. Now, many tourists come to a country that is looking like this? I don’t think so. The sad part too is that some people are still selling veggies on the streets with this mess. No wonder we have so many people dying in our country
The only way lusaka will improve is changing people's mindset about hygiene,kwa George people were throwing trash in the middle of the road whilst the roads were flooded.sad.let people throw trash in the bins, drainages are clogged with plastic satchets people throw inside the drains.
The all drainage system has to b redesigned, fuilure to that certin buldings in the cbd has to b visited nd understand the building tecnics that was used.
Problem is us citizens. When the current minister of local Government tried to bring sanity, people who want political milage started to say, * where wl the vendors go coz that where they earn a living. Quite TRUE that's where they earn thier living. Markets are there and as it is, most of them are almost empty. Reason given is that people buy a lot from vendors coz they are easily reached. If vendors went back to markets, definitely we would follow them to the markets to buy supplies coz we need food.
This us normal when it gas just rained. It happens in most countries .. after an hour, water will go. Its a problem when after 2 hrs water is still there

I can redesign this city's drainage system, over the years engineers in lusaka have done a very terrible job. Tell the government to think of awarding the contract of redesigning the drainage system in Lusaka.
Very hard to watch. All the Zambian engineers cannot come up with a proper drainave system for this type of terrain. People cannot even use rainboots to walk in these floods.
Zambia chibombo chisamba council must government come and see chibombo no council toilet liteta no toilet but tanven no toilet licence is high 2000 for shops please gorvement must stund and see as soon as possible
Town planners see what's happening,You're just occupying offices and getting paid for what?do we have Zambian Engineers to work on the city plan?if not give the tender to the Chinese to resigned the city and its drainages.
