David Attenborough narrates the intimate story of a leopard mother and her two cubs. This family must survive in the wilds of Botswana alongside some less-than-friendly neighbours: lions, wild dogs and hyenas. The competition for food is tough, and if they are going to make it they must learn a new skill - they must learn to fish.

I can’t believe how fast she was able to pull that whole dead thing up the tree. I can barely put a hot pocket into the microwave.

"DAMNIT JAMES"
😂😂😂 my son is James
Damn James wtf you doing man
The grip that the leopards claws give to be able to climb a tree with the added weight of an entire carcass of another medium sized animal is insane, especially at that speed.
1:42 LMAO she's like where's the neck, where's the neck - WHERE'S THE NECK DAMNIT
Pardon? I noticed that too.
🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha
ROFL😆🤣 Hands down one of d funniest comments I have ever read...so true though!😭
I think a leopards strength is way underestimated
Probably the most versatile of all the big cats: good on land, great swimmer, excellent climber.
@@lexol3347 pound to pound the strongest of big cats even before Jaguars and Tigers
Mugiwara No Luffy possibly stronger than a tiger, but not sure about a Jag though, I saw one in the Pantanal jump into the river, grab a caiman, and drag it up an almost vertical banking.
@@lexol3347 I totally agree. They have been known to even hunt monkeys!
@@adam007ize whats so special about killing a weak caiman?
How does the Camera Man survives all of this?
Same thinking
tbh, as long as you're in car, they can care less. I went on a safari and was literally 5 ft away from a leopard, they don't care about you because you don't look like food in a car.
They’re either in a vehicle, or have locals armed with guns/spears to protect the crew
Expensive , powerful cameras that can take shots from miles away.

@@SunnahFollower12 FACT$😀💯
This was a good video, you didn't need the clickbait title.
Yes agree!
It wasn’t click bait. They wild dogs would have killed the cub
@@charliezshots She didn't rescue the cub though, she secured the food, he climbed just fine on his own.
@@MrCiqano don't you see how the cubs bite the food like there's no tomorrow just so it won't fall from the tree before ? and who knows when will the wild dogs leave that tree alone, they need their food to survive.
WTF are you talking about fool? That wasn't click bait. Maybe you need to go Google "click bait".
If one ignores the misleading title, it is edge of the seat excitement (in the end). Especially the last part I did not even blink my eyes.Did anyone feel like that?👍👍
A M Raju well kinda sorta. It's a thumbnail.
How is the title misleading? had the mother not taken the carcass up the tree the cubs would not have followed and would have been killed, thus she saved them. watch the video before you chat shit.
PQTH just saying, the title was recently changed,I think it was misleading cause people were saying its confusing
@@TristanSilverwood She saved the meat while leaving the cub confused and to fend for it's self. Reality is more then your perception and guess what perception is a shitty methodology to find truth. That is why science was developed. So fools like you dont mislead the rest of the fools.
@@TristanSilverwood The wild dogs weren't interested in the cubs, just the meat. So the cubs were never in danger. Follow your own advice!
The mother leopard probably beat that cub's ass when the camera man finished filming
The way they move when he says "thieves". Commentary at its best.

Picks up an antelope and scales the tree in 3 seconds. Amazing. I can barely climb the stairs with a sandwich.
The strength of that female Leopard to lift an impala off the ground, which probably weighs nearly or as much as she does, and haul it up the tree with such speed and agility. Awe-inspiring.
Wow!! I’ve never seen a Leopard move so fast carrying a prey up onto a tall tree!! This is awesome!!
At 1:25, momma leopard was like "For goodness sake James I told you to stop playin around while st the dinning table!"
Bravo, mama leopard.
Smart mama leopard
Actually dumb mama. Instead of helping the baby up the tree first, it decided to take the deer carcass up first. Luckily it had time before the dogs came
Do you miss your mommy?
Inquisitve m she thought the baby already how to move fast...
@@inquisitvem6723 It was a lesson for the cubs. Didn't you hear the Sir David?
Even though the carcass was half of its original size the power to climb a tree with atleast 80lbs in your mouth is incredible.
All I could say here is Damn she STRONG! You go mama!
That’s beautiful... scaling a tree with a heavy carcass.
What power!
It's amazing how David keeps up with these animals to capture special moments like this..beautiful indeed
Leopards are amazing
For everyone saying these are African Wild dogs and not Hyenas, he never said they were Hyenas. He said "Hyenas and other thieves" referring to the African Wild Dog.
Jordan Henshall Thank you!! Many didn't get it
No the title was different a year ago they changed it days later...the title currently says the mother rescues the cub but that didnt happen either
Finally someone who's not stupid

Unbelievable display of strength from that leopard!!
She's like my mom lol WHAT DID I TELL YOU?! AND THATS THE FIRST THING U DID.
WHOA, she grabbed that carcass like nobody's biz! 😳😳😳
Every animal should be alert when they start hearing Davin Attenborough's voice in the background
“Right now he’s not his mother’s favorite” you bet 😭😂😂
She ran so fast & agile with that heavy dead weight carcass in her powerful jaws amazing
I love leopards.
I love hyenas.....shame I didn’t get to see any
lol BBC confusing them for wild dogs. cant believe they haven't edited the title of the video yet
1:53 That sped up frame to make the cub look like he’s moving in super speed was a fantastic edit!
Yes!! The video editor’s hard work will not go unnoticed 😌
when it comes to animal documentary, this man's voice wins!
I could see the “*sigh* I just told him not to let that fall...” in her demeanor 😂
Title is wrong. Should be - Dead Impala saved from 2nd death!
Lol
Errrr once it's dead.....doesn't come back alive.
Besides the leapoards had it and retained it for dinner.
She was more interested in saving the food not his baby lol😁
reread your sentence lol 😁
she knows the cub can climb.
Same thing, twit. No food = probable death in the near future. Leopards can't go to the convenience store.
She saved his life. If she left that food on the ground they would stay there for quite a while.
They would starve if the dogs took their food.
1:42 is my favorite part.
The power of that cat is crazy. Carcass in mouth and climbs a tree. What a nut
To stay alive.... You must stay alert..👍👍
Aditya Ranjan Yep. And to stay alert...you must stay alive.

what is a read?
Ãlmightykash 2x yes
+Anime is trash. they messed up the title. Those are Wild Dogs as the Narrator states. And it wasn't the cub that was rescued. It was dinner that was rescued.
Leopards are gifted
The antelope like "oooo bout to go down"
Carcass drops* "Oh shit mom is gonna kill me, I better fix this up quick before she comes home"
When the food fell to the ground, did the mother do a "Julius (Everybody Hates Chris)" on him? "Boy, that's a week's worth of food you let fall to the ground!"
"To stay alive you must stay alert". I learned something that applies to my life today👍
The incredible moment,the amazing Leopard👏👏👏
"Right now he's not his mother's favourite", totally relatable
That climb was ridiculous!!!! God is good!!!
Unless ya the dead deer XD
That's some quick survival instincts from the mother.
"not his mothers favorite!" Hilarious
big cats are so strong lol. that leopard pounced up the tree with that deer like it had no extra weight on it. that's beast!
1:44 Cub: Mom help me.

Leopard Mother Rescues Food, Leaves Cub Behind | BBC Earth*
Andrew Krieger yup 👌🏽well said.
Impressive. The powerful lifting muscles of an adult leopard enable a large animal to quickly be carried up a tree out of harms way.
Damn how strong are a leopard's teeth
Hyenas: do I smell gazelle?or maybe deer?
Mom leaopord: *its mine bitch*
I feel a little bad for the Wild Dogs, imagine if that was the LAST OREO
The Carcus is like,
"When your legs don't work like they used to before"
It's a pity you put this misleading title. The mother didn't rescue the cub. It secured the meal.
This was the fastest and smartest way she could rescue her baby! She could not carry him/her up the tree. But by taking the meal, her baby followed. Do you understand?
@@caribbeangirl7876 yeah, u r right... the cub can climb the tree easily, but he will not do it due to the appetite.
Which means without the "meal" she and her cub would both starve to death. So in essence, she did save the life of her cub!
Maravilla De nuestro padre celestial .
Correct title: Leopard mother saves food and the cub is lucky that there is a tree near by he can climb by himself.
I've never been this amazed on leopards
Confused by the title, but a nice sequence nonetheless!
This was the fastest and smartest way she could rescue her baby! She could not carry him/her up the tree. But by taking the meal, her baby followed. Do you understand?
Haha, thank you Caribbean Girl... the original title of this was "Leopard Mother Rescues Cub from Hyenas", hence our confusion. They've corrected it now, so yay!! ;)
Wow very intelligent & quick thinking of Leopard mom saving its food back to treetop. So impressive, impressive & what speed climbing tree with carcass. Fantastic. I love her !!
I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but that leopard didn't rescue its cub from wild dogs. Rightly or wrongly, I expect more from the BBC, especially the NHU. And even more so when it comes to content featuring David Attenborough.
He was rethinking his life choices like "No,No,No mom's going to kill me!!!"😂😂😂
The title couldn't be more misleading no rescuing and no hyenas
Aha! Hyenas are getting sneakier. Now they're dressing up as wild dogs! Evolution at work.
The little guy saved himself. Mom just saved dinner.
Imagine walking pass those trees and you see animal carcasses hanging from the trees at night.
Isn't nature scary :D?
Amazing the cub has to be alert
BBC Earth you slightly got her title of this footage incorrect. Those weren't hyenas those were wild dogs. It's obvious look at their ears and their body shape. Maybe you'll come back and fix that title
Those wild dogs was trying to eat the leopards food! I laughed when the mother leopard hurried upped the tree trying to escape the dogs!😃
BBC I expected more from you. Hyenas are not wild dogs wild dogs are not hyenas
He didn't say these were Hyenas, he actually said " Hyenas ", then he paused while the camera moved to the wild dogs and he then said, " and other thieves ". " other thieves " being the wild dogs. Are you too stupid to comprehend that?
Clive Bindley tell them sis
The Deer be Like: I ain’t gonna be part of this
the title is such shit clickbait? Why do you ruin such great content with clickbait BBC Earth? Oh i know, probably for more views...
a there are worst click baits than this..and she kind of saves the cub too if you can see it that way
It almost looks like they used the wrong title because the mother isn't rescuing the cub but only the carcass and there aren't even any hyenas in the video xD
It is hyenas wearing wild dogs after they eat them
Even the mom freaking out & forget the baby

He did not call them hyenas. He mentioned Hyenas but called the dogs "other thieves" and referred to them as African wild dogs, weren't you paying attention?
Its more like the mother rescues her food rather than her cub.
So many things wrong with this title
I think leopards are my favorite animals now.
