Curious. Everyone talks about the 3 ccommon areas to add tape, but NO ONE talks about whether or not you can combine multiple zones, using tape on both top and sides, or top and bottom corner. Does one negate the other? Does this only help if you pick ONE zone to add weight?

So I would like to know the difference between the long tape vs the shorter pre cut pieces, like the 6 gram per piece precut, having the weight more concentrated in one spot (say the 5&7) position vs a long piece of tape. Thanks-

What if you add weight to 3 and 9 on sides and also add to bottom corners? Thanks 😊

When adding tape to tennis racquets, it's common to also wrap weight at the very bottom of the handle. Typically, one starts by measuring the OEM balance point. Then the sides and/or top are weighted with tape -- typically at 10 & 2, which would be the top corners of a pickleball paddle.. A shorter pickleball paddle might be better with weight spread other ways. Then one temporarily wraps weight at the bottom of the handle to adjust the balance to keep the original balance. One can add or remove weight at the handle to move the balance up or down as desired.
If adjusted to the OEM balance at the handle, you'll generally have a quick and stable paddle with a large sweet spot. AND have a more robust overall weight when powering thru a long stroke. At least that's how it works for weighting tennis racquets. With tennis weighting, if you don't add weight at the handle, you may be heading towards a case of tennis elbow... Not sure that applies to pickleball...Just beware...

would it be a good idea to add lead tape in the air dynamic throat of a paddle that has one? i would imagine it would help our with blocks and punch vollies. also if you add lead tape to get more power will that come at a sacrafice to any control fro a control oriented paddle?

I have a Engage Pursuit Pro EX. I need to increase the sweet spot. It seems when I hit the ball on edges it sounds Flat. Where would you recommend to place the tape and how much weight. Thanks

Could adding the tape increase stress on elbow and shoulder?

What happens if you add lead tape to the entire frame of paddle? Would the paddle just stay balanced with a larger sweet spot?

I wouldn't do it. You will Crack every ball you hit. At $3/ball it will get expensive. Plus, you will be so good that nobody will play with you.
