    Just a tip for you. If you set pads with your laser around the room you can take away the guess work and not need to use spirit levels as much and use straight edges. You’ve definitely improved your work over the years

      It means heights. So you have something to screed to rather than just using a spirit level. It’s what most us tilers do now

      @@fufuelhatch444 it could be just a piece of tiles you put on the screed to get the right height with Laser so you dont even have to guess work as he mentioned. I do every time, and exactly I have got what i want.

      Yeah good video with some nice clear angles but music is too loud. Probably better without or at half the volume.
      Keep in mind the music is compressed compared to your voice so the percieved loudness is far more especially when not using a close mic e.g clip on wireless.

    It`s the best tutorial! However there are some questions- what exactly you use as a slurry? Just cement mix or any chemical improvers or a fiber fluff? How to know the ratio of this mix, please? How you maintain an exact required thickness of the screed? Sometimes it is limited by tiles layout and ceiling, windows seal or niches configuration. Do you add any supplements to the screed itself or a standard 1:4 cement/sand ratio? Does this method have any limitation with a min, thickness, please? In our case, the highest point (perimeter) is counted ~22-23mm, but at the centre of drains it must be ~12mm only. Some traditional specialists told me that 25mm is absolutely min. thickness of such kind of screed. Is that correct? Thank you

      Hi Alex
      Thanks for tuning in mate.
      1) slurry is just Cement and water mixed together. There is no other chemical in the slurry involved.
      2) Ratio! Long story short. For 20 litter of water you need 10kg of cement mixed together or you can make it more thicker by adding more cement if you want.
      3) prior to screeding you should know the hight of the ceiling your full finish configuration.
      4) screed thickness, I wouldn’t go less the 20mm with screed nor thicker then 60mm with mash in.

    • @Rayblondie
      @Rayblondie 2 місяці тому +1

      You get it how you want it. More water for bricklaying less for cement screeds. Notice he could walk on it. Obviously if there is not enough water it will not set but I think you have a margin for choice.

    That screed is a work of art I love how easy you make it look. How much of the water stop are you trying to leave exposed, are you working out roughly the thickness of the tile and roughly the glue underneath? Thanks

    • @QLHTilingWaterproofing
      @QLHTilingWaterproofing  Рік тому +1

      Hi Donna
      Minimum 30mm screed otherwise it will become drummy and no you can not do it roughly you need to know your thickness finishe.

      @@QLHTilingWaterproofing Thanks for the reply. I'm just wondering how you judge where that water stop angle is going to need put, do you find out the size of shower screen the customer is getting then just measure off the wall the thickness of the tile plus glue to work out exactly where the angle water stop needs to be? Thanks
