can someone tell kayla she can adjust the terrain level without removing the water 😭 i feel like that would make it easier for her to visualize the shape and size of the pond better than removing the water each time and digging a hole that doesn’t look like anything bc the terrain is just the same color
I love snowy escape way more than I originally thought I would. I’m absolutely going to move my bachelorette sim live here because it’s back in her hometown
I feel as though there isn’t much south Asian and Middle Eastern and Muslim representation, the hijabs that we’re added to the base game were a start but we need more.
The reason why the waterlillies are floating is because the terrain underneath it (the pond) is too shallow. Make it deeper as far as you can around the edges too without changing the sides of the pond and they won't float! Also a tip for creating good looking ponds: adjust the shape of the pond WITH water in it, it helps to visualize much better!
I loooove snowy escape. It came out at a perfect time too. I was living in Japan at the time, but because of Covid, I wasn’t able to go traveling around Japan, as much as I would’ve liked, so it was really nice to explore it a bit virtually in the sims. The family I played with this pack is also one of the families, I’ve played the longest.
I just did I GIANT build in this world up on that huge 50x50 lot in the mountains. It was an A-Frame with a separate bathhouse, art house, skiing storage, and separate guest house. I went insane 😂
Me too kinda! I used that lot to build an enormous resort thing that has an outdoor onsen with river landscaping around it, a pool, some hotel rooms, and a bunch of random spa stuff 😅 I feel like that lot is made for people who want to get really extra
ponds: paint it, fill the bottom with rocks and/or grasses, and add lots to the edges too (debug cattails, or fallen logs + floor ivy creeping over can look nice). it's BIG on trust the process, believe me. don't give up too soon!
i personally think that the reason why kayla’s japanese-style builds look out of place is because her building basics (i.e. the use of diagonals, the roofing, etc.) doesn’t honor the traditional japanese style of house. i’m japanese and my grandparents live in a very traditional japanese house. none of the traditional styles i’ve seen have roofing or diagonals like this.
I really like the items, especially the build items, in Snowy Escape. Appreciate your vulnerability in talking about your insecurities. Your builds esp modern and with this pack are better than you think they are.
@@kaaskaas5584yeah, but she really doesn’t have to. many youtubers don’t post nearly as often or have videos as long, as high-effort, or as put together
I absolutely adored the mansion build you did! I struggle a lot with always building black and white houses, similar to how the trope with your builds is the blue suburban lol Almost every house I end up trying to build is always modern and black and white😂 and I rarely ever have anything along the lines of a color scheme in the interior. But I’ve learned a lot from watching your channel and my builds have definitely improved from it! Keep up the great work, I can’t wait to see what you do next!❤
I LOVE that starter home you built. I didn't know you built it. it became a legacy family house, and my favorite time playing the sims ever was in that house.
Snowy escape is genuinely one of my favourite packs! something about the world and the game play feels so homely and I really enjoy playing there, I usually have my sims living there! I had no idea you build that house it’s one of my favourites in the game. Let’s all agree Kayla is beyond talented❤
I love Mt. Komorebi, there's a Simmers who build tiny tiny groups of Komorebi's style and it's really awesome. I forgot her name. I edit this once I remember.
When I want to use the snowy escape mailbox, sometimes I build a half wall outside the porch, to where you would put the mailbox, and stick the snowy escape one on the half wall. I find it quite pretty
Kayla, don't stress too much about your builds in game because before you they had builds without toilets and stairs to nowhere! You're builds will always be 10000x better than those builds.
I've played the sims 4 before i watched your videos and this world and its houses were my absolute favourite! when i found you i understood why ❤ you did a great job
I don't build in this world either but it's because I like the official lots too much. They are so well done, I don't think mine will compare so I just adjust them to my needs instead of building from scratch
i turned this lot into a little bakery! its technically a retail store but i have everyone in my sims family bake stuff for it. cupcake machine actually gets used here lol
I built a home on this lot it was on stilts around a garden in the middle of the build- The garden was outside and framed by the home which had all windows around the garden to look in. I added fireflies and it was such a treat during gameplay to have that in the background all the time
I love how Snowy Escape is inspired by Japan, I'm definitely buying it next time it's on sale. I love Japan, they give us the best things, I would love to visit one day (maybe even move there 😅) I would especially love to visit Aoshima (Cat Island).
i don’t own this pack but it makes me really nostalgic, i got super into sims 4 youtube-specifically your channel when this pack came out. i would support doing more snowy escape stuff in the future :)
Snowy Escape and Cottage Living are my favourite packs. I love the Japanese inspired aesthetic, maybe I don't use every part of the world and all activities, but there's really a lot of nice items. My favourite lot is one in the mountains, the one on the right, it's always snowy and the view is beautiful. But my Sims' energy bill is a lot there 😂 I also have a save where I started legacy but got too attached to 2nd gen heir, she's an engineer and has a Servo, moved from Newcrest to Mt Komorebi and lives in traditionally Japanese looking house.
I made a cute build in this world recently that was a small two-story built over a pond, and it turned out so much better than I’d expected. It definitely has some nice traditional vibes with a slight modern touch. It’s easily one of my favorites to play with lol
I like how she made the entrance a step lower. That's where you take off your shoes. I am Japanese and I love Snowy Escape. I can't help but think it would have been great if they had made a dining table called a chabudai that you could sit on the ground and use!
To be honest I love it and I ordered few days ago the snowy escape pack in media expert (i recommend it, it turns out wayyy cheaper) so I'm glad you gave snowy escape a chance! At least I'll get something to put there!
The constant Sims 4 struggle of "Does this swatch match X?", and the answer is nearly always no 😭 Roof trims and metal details (curtain rods, faucets, etc) are the bane of my existence
Dear Lilsimsie, thank you so much for everything you do for the community. Please normalize hashtagging the original name of the lot, neighborhood, and world each build goes in. It would help everyone find things so much easier. Gratefully, A Heavy Gallery User.
Maybe it’s just because I’m Asian so there’s some Asian pride involved plus I grew up skiing, but Snowy Escape to me was one of the most worth it Sims packs to buy. The build items are so good and I love the CAS. I don’t play in the world as much recently but I constantly use the stuff while building. The wood tones are just so good.
This house looks like a Japanese-Scandinavian couple would live in it haha
can someone tell kayla she can adjust the terrain level without removing the water 😭 i feel like that would make it easier for her to visualize the shape and size of the pond better than removing the water each time and digging a hole that doesn’t look like anything bc the terrain is just the same color
Lol didn’t you tell her by posting a comment on her video?
@@DEH04213 the point of the joke is that you’re already commenting it
She's not wrong. I think it's a glitch since Horse Ranch. I've recently had the same problem.
Also, as with house building, you can hide any mistakes or oddities with plants 🌵🥬🐇👍
@@DEH04213it’s not likely that she’ll see it because of how well her videos do, thus resulting in thousands if not more comments
Imagine being a sim, looking at your phone then the next second boom there's a house behind you!
reminds me of that scene in barbie where the teen goes “do giant hands come down and play with you”
Snowy Escape is one of those packs I forget about, but then when I play with it, I’m happy to have it :)
I love snowy escape way more than I originally thought I would. I’m absolutely going to move my bachelorette sim live here because it’s back in her hometown
I love diversity in the Sims four, and culture. Thank you so much simsie, because buying packs can be risk.
Diversity is a stretch
i feel like it can't be truly diverse, if most of the cultural clothing and gameplay is locked behind a pay wall :/
i hope they'll make worlds for other cultures as well! i'd kill for an india-inspired world
I feel as though there isn’t much south Asian and Middle Eastern and Muslim representation, the hijabs that we’re added to the base game were a start but we need more.
She’s a white woman who was hired to make Asian inspired builds

You should do more builds using Snowy Escape, this one turned out really pretty!
Snowy Escape is still my favourite packs! It’s so fun to play with and I’m excited to place this build in my save!
Kayla is in her diagonal era 😂
Stanley standing there with his phone is a vibe.
Snowy escape is one of my fav packs, glad to see it get more love!
I adore Snowy Escape,it’s my favourite world to play in,I’m obsessed with Japanese architecture plus the world is just so pretty
That pack really just has so many good build buy items.. The fence is just toooooo good..
Snowy escape is one of my favorite packs! Im happy to see a video featuring the pack that isn't 3 years old when the pack first came out
Genuinely your builds in Mt. Komorebi are some of my absolute favorite builds in all of TS4!
10:40 honestly so wholesome. i love Stanley, lol

Ooh, sounds cool! Do you have anything on the sims gallery where you’ve done this?
Snowy Escape is one of *the* best packs from the Sims 4, hands down! I love everything about it.
love you kayla! obsessed with the kittens you're fostering! they look so similar to one of my cats

I acctually love the snowy escape world.

If you put one small circle then place another one on the side of it you will get a bean . Lower the terrain then fill with water.
Everything I put in/on ponds floats, I never know how others manage to have things on the surface

it physically hurts seeing the door to the back patio floating (14:13)

video suggestion! try building a house using only skills/tools that you're "bad at" (like how you said you struggled using ponds/terrain tools)

A really nice house! Your building fits in there so well! 🫶🏻
It's my favourite pack, I've played this to death and still love sending my sims on ski vacation .
I think your awesome at building I always have faith in you and your builds and you never disappoint
Why is it that some of the most talented builders always pick their builds apart and are like they aren’t that good??
Your builds are always gorgeous. You inspire me and I have learned a lot about this game through you. I thank you! ❤
