The other reason only a small cut on the head is required: the blood that reaches the top of the head is working against gravity so there’s a huge amount of pressure there. That’s why even the smallest cut is a monster gusher.
Nice to see someone else actually knows how the force of gravity affects bleeding. I've seen so many people over the years say "bro it was just a tiny cut all of that it fake blood."
Yes, I had one of those once as a kid. The other kids went nuts as blood streamed down my forehead over my face. However, once my mom wiped it clean, it didn't even need stitches, and I didn't suffer at all. I just had to sit quietly till it stopped bleeding. I have to laugh - in boxing the whole idea is to stop a cut and keep blood out of the eyes, so they work to remove it. Stupid is the wrestler who would ever wipe away his crimson mask!

As much as I love these informative videos, this sadly amongst other things with the evolution of the internet have ruined the magic we enjoyed as pre-teens and teenagers growing up in the 90's and early 00's during the Federation days. Not knowing what Rey Mysterio looked like (I didn't watch him in WCW) was ultimately ruined when the internet became more accessible. Learning when I was a kid that Kane came from hell and was a "big red demon" was what made the character exciting. Now I look back at those episodes on Peacock TV with disappointment remembering how innocent we were and how magical the WWE was back then. Call me weird but I cannot be the only one who feels this way. WWE feels way too fake knowing they're all on social media and such portraying a character on screen like it's a movie. So game breaking and ruining the immersiveness.
I was a kid in the 90s too and I loved wwf but really not much has changed. I can remember seeing kane do press conferences and media appearances which is kinda the equivalent of today's social media. I dno the older I get I have way more respect for these ppl that put their bodies on the line for our entertainment. So I actually helped set up our arena for Monday Night Raw and helped set up the tables. They're real tables, and they cut off the band around the table and then spray painted them black so it looks like it's there. And they sawed the middle of the metal bars on both sides so it breaks easily. And of course we had to very carefully replace the stickers on them. They take the bands off because of an incident with hard-core Holly where when he broke through table, the band didn't break and sliced his back up badly
@@kylein9869 I work for an event staffing company. We set up venues for events like concerts, musicals, WWE, etc. We don't work for the arena, but the arena is one of the venues we mainly work at
For sure, I don't blame WWE for not using real milk for the 2001 or 2022 versions of that spot, the arena would (reasonably) not let them back when they returned to those cities. And being from the UK, it's not surprising to me that Americans used watered-down beer for anything...🤣🤣🍺🍺
The thing with the table spots is that they always try to use the slide lock 20 times while it's still upside down. But thats probably the same reason they don't just climb to the belt in a ladder match.
The first time I was introduced to wrestling was seeing Mick get thrown off the cell. I was 4, and the show 20/20 kept replaying it. My dad told me it was "fake" but there's no faking that fall.

When Earthquake killed Jake "The Snake" Robert's snake Damien. When Quake landed on the bag. It was actually a bag full of grounded meat and a motor to simulate movement. That was a great secret I learned back in the day
I knew that McMahon or whomever backstage would direct what Ross,Lawler,Cole, etc they would say. Maybe not word for word of course but what they want to get through to the audience, sale the storylines, what the company wants to be known to try to persuade how people should think (who is face, heel etc)
Nice to see that they find a way to make it a bit safer for the wrestlers. I think the ring should have some kind of foam or something so it wouldn't hurt the wrestlers as much at least (if they don't do that already) this makes me enjoy watching wrestling at home because it keeps the illusion there, and make it more enjoyable to watch. Thanks for posting this because I was curious.
@@Kaitri But it doesn't help with internal injuries, which are usually the most dangerous. Most people forget that our bodies are not one solid mass but made up of many individual delicate parts. So when our bodies come to a sudden stop our organs keep moving forward. Think of it like a car crash. You could have an indestructible car but if you are not fastened in then if your car crashes at high speeds then your body will keep moving at that speed until it hits the front of the inside. It's why athletes like wrestlers and football players end up with severe brain injuries because those tackles and crashes make the brain bounce and crash against the skull.
I'm still trying to wrap my brain around #32. So when they had somebody get hurt by a fake Sledgehammer... their response was "Well let's use *real* ones from now on"? I get that only a select few people can use them and they cover the head with their hand, but it still feels like an accident with a real one would be worse than an accident with a rubber one.
I guess the idea is that if you have a rubber sledgehammer you will actually hit someone with it, but it can injure the person. If you have a steel head, you won't really swing it at a guy. I always thought the sledgehammer exposed the business. Who uses a sledgehammer the way Triple H did?? Thus, a heel with a sledgehammer wasn't so mean after all. He used it like a battering ram instead of like a baseball bat.
They edited Jake's close-up on the WM VII Coliseum Video release, but restored it in all future releases. I often wondered how I missed it as a kid. They used a crowd shot to hide it...
“It’s believed that the fake barbed wire uses rubber tips, which won’t cause damage.” My understanding is the fake one had barbs made of solder. And since it still cut Trip’s face up pretty bad anyway when Cavtus hit him with it (Royal Rumble ‘00), they decided from then on to just use real barbed wire, since the solder wire wasn’t actually any safer.
Also if the barbed wire is spread out over more of your body when you land on it, there's less damage per barb as the barb impacts less body mass. That's why there's lots of nails on a bed of nails. Anyone can lay on a bed of nails if you do it right. if there's a lot of them because each nail doesn't have much force applied on it because the body is spread out. Also, wrestlers using things like this do take lots of pain killers so they don't feel it as much.
As someone who did deathmatch for 5 years I can tell you that landing on a bed of thumbtacks hurts a hell of a lot less than landing on just one thumbtack
From experience simply landing on the ring wrong hurts like hell! Most don’t realize that the thing is made of wood planks and covered by Avery thin pad that isn’t at all soft!
Dream Pack: “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig, Road Warriors, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair Futures Stars Pack: Tony D’Angelo, Pretty Deadly, Joe Gacy, Trick Williams, Tiffany Stratton Raw Superstars Pack: Bronson Reed, Candice LeRae, Mia Yim, The OC Smackdown Superstars Pack: Pat McAfee, Hit Row, Emma Eater Of Worlds Pack: Bray Wyatt, The Fiend, Bray Wyatt Family Funhouse, Bray Wyatt ‘13
Some of them like the blindfold matches are ruined but for most adult fans wwe is like a bunch of stunt performers doing crazy athletic feats which a normal person could never do. Most of the things obviously weren't real for safety reasons, fans just don't know how.
I remember when I was watching WrestleMania 17 Triple H vs the Undertaker an they took the fight into the audience and then at one point they got on top of a scaffold and undertaker chokeslammed triple H to the floor but when you see him land you see him land on a big cushion and the camera caught it a little.
Yeah, that was unfortunate... They showed several camera angles and it looked great. The last one they showed was the one that he clearly fell on a pad (still an insane bump, though). If they'd just stopped one replay sooner.
I'll never forget the match between hardcore holly vs rvd on a random ecw episode where rvd kicked Holly of the ring apron thru a table and the wire around the table sliced a giant gash on Holly's back
The only thing I don’t like about this vid is that it implies the rigged tables, chairs and ladders are harmless. I know he didn’t exactly say that, and probably didn’t even intend that. So, I’m not really criticizing. It’s also just flat out true. I’m not suggesting everything is 100% legit. I’m old. I grew up when about half of wrestling fans thought it was all 100% legit. Even grown adults in some of the Southern regions believed it 100% legit well into the 80s. So, no, I’m not remotely suggesting that this vid is wrong and those are real props. Indeed, the sticks and the trash cans are a joke. But the ladders, though hollow, are still metal (actually, in some cases they’ve used wooden ladders painted silver… but that’s probably worse than hollow metal). The chairs are also still metal. And the tables are USUALLY struck with significant velocity. Point is, those suckers will still hurt! Let’s not downplay those props as if they have no impact on the wrestlers. I think just one of those chair shots, no matter how rigged, would kill me. LOL. These are big, strong athletes trained to take punishment. And those chairs, ladders and tables, even though rigged, still deliver that punishment. Ok, the sticks and trash cans… not so much. Lol. But the rest of the props? They’re rigged to reduce damage, that’s about it. They absolutely can still cause damage. It’s merely less than an unrigged prop would cause.
Flint paper in the tape on the thumbs and fingers. You can see how they rub their thumbs up the fingers when they throw it. At least that's how, the first one to do it, the Original Sheik (Ed Farhat) did it back in the late 60s - early 70s, in his Detroit region territory. Sabu is Ed's nephew. Ed used to "manage" Sabu and RVD at times deep into his 70s. And of course being the ultimate bad guy, he would get involved. Also tagged with Sabu a few times then. Bobby Heenan made his managerial name by managing the Sheik, after Eddie "the Brain" Creechman retired. That's where his "Brain" and "Weasel" nick names came from. Those were Eddie's "other" names.
Don't forget the fake crowd noise when Ultimate Warrior was beating up Sargeant Slaughter at the rumble. WWF were pushing the war pretty hard at that point.
Don't let Meltzer's bitterness cloud your judgement. Pontiac Sulverdome attendance was not inflated by much. It was just about filled to capacity and the total legit attendance was likely in the high 88k range.
They not only lie about the number of people attending the shows, but also about the wrestlers' real weights. They're also inflated in order to make them heavier of at least 20 pounds. If a wrestler is billed at 260 pounds, he's probably around 240 pounds in real life.
To all naysayers if you doubt how tough taking a bump is go to a local wrestling school or contact your local promoter to try taking a bump. If you don't want to go through that, buy a 6ft latter, climb to the top, and jump off backwards on to a wood floor, a parking lot, an icy ground, or even if you want to be alot safer, on a damp ground, while trying to keep your head up to prevent cracking it on the ground.
Anyone who thinks crash pads shouldn’t be used should have to take a bump onto a bare floor and then see how they like it. Most wrestlers aren’t paid as much as you think, and as most are on “independent contractor” deals, they have to cover their own medical expenses (and of course, if they are injured, they can’t wrestle and earn money).

The Shane McMahon and Kurt Angle glass-break thing still gets me to this very day. Shane's a beast, no question. And that's EXACTLY what I would have done! "Throw me again, just DO IT!"
sure sure....after the first one you would have been like "No more dude". Haha the spot would have been called off completely.
At this point, Angle was trying to throw shane with a broken tail bone. They're bith certified Badasses
yep a lot of scripted stuff but it’s ENTERTAINMENT , literally World Wrestling Entertainment, it’s what they do and people seem to love it 💯💯 They’re still professionals doing very real wrestling moves and stunts , entertaining their fans🙏🙏 Bless em
Just like the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. It's all for our entertainment. But for some reason people think sports are real and knows WWE is scripted, fkn clowns
@@ShawnFX well yeah because that’s how it is. Pro wrestling is scripted and the other sports are legit competitive sports. Doesn’t mean pro wrestling is easy or something to be laughed at. Wrestling isn’t like other sports it’s closer to a TV series but instead of having stunt doubles the wrestlers themselves do all the “stunts”.
Indeed
It’s extremely lame as hell. I thought they really placed their lives in real danger. But after seeing this, it’s all fake as hell and I decided to stop watching the crap that is so called wrestling Which is gay and lesbianistic as hell
Never knew WWE had all of these big secrets before until I found out this video. 50 BIGGEST WWE secrets is ALOT. I'm not sure why WWE keeps so many secrets anyway. This sure was a lengthy 20 minute video though. Putting extra time to share these out with us and exposing all of WWE's biggest secrets.

Growing up from WWF to WWE, must say WWE has actually kept us entertained throughout 😍
I say the opposite is true. I'm more interested in the business of wrestling so I do pay some attention to things on UA-cam and these wrestling channels. But what I watch for entertainment's sake is IMPACT! They have storylines, but don't need to use up a half hour of ring time to tell them. They use that time to wrestle. That IS what i'm there for! They will either do a run-in, or someone comes out after the match to taunt someone for 3 to 10 minutes to push the story. Only one or two, one or two minute backstage interviews too. My favorite term to all the others who try to be WWE 3.0 (AEW is version 2.0)? Shut up and wrestle!!!!
It comes and goes for me especially from 2010-2022. You know who has been out of control during that time blatantly making bad decisions and ignoring fan backlash. Good thing that senile out of touch old man isn’t in charge of creative anymore
it's been a great ride as long as you're not a 12 year old ring boy or a doctor that prescribes steroids/a wrestler driven crazy by them
micheal cole is deaf in one ear from vince screaming @ him for all those years i kid you not
I’ve been to a few RAW and SmackDown tapings, I’ve noticed the black curtain covering certain parts of the arena where the audience sits. Very typical of WWE trying to make you think they sold out a show. LOL
Same
I've noticed it I think it's so they don't have people sitting behind the titantron.
Last time i went was 2007 2 different times both where sold out but i did hear they where down bad these days
@@declangaming24It’s not just behind the Titantron. At a Smackdown taping at Moda Center in Portland, OR about five years ago, they not only had the entrance/Titantron area tarped off, they had the side of the arena with cameras and a production table tarped off as well. Of course, they also had the entire upper bowl tarped off as well, with only the lower bowl and the club/suite level open.
@@JBM425 why do that if you want more money why don't they just pay people to go to the events there's also some interesting facts you need to know before WWE switched to HD every smackdown show the ECW setup would be at the side of the setup until WWE in 2007 Gived ECW the set up in the center.
I met Mick Foley briefly, I saw him walk and get in and out of a chair, I can't fault anyone for using a crash pad.
I met him and saw he is in pain when walking. He's an amazing wrestler and person
There's alot that goes on during wrestling to make it seem real and that's the magic in it. I know wrestling isn't real but there's real danger. I've looked at enough wrestling to know when something doesn't go as planned.
Whether its real or fake the act and the stunts really entertain me and i appreciate the efforts of every superstars WWE who puts their body to limit just to entertain every WWE fans. Theirs no reason to put our superstars in danger as long they entertain us lets appreciate that.

50 secrets that were already exposed by WWE themselves 😂
Such deep deep respect for these athletes. They truly give us their all. And deserve so many more accolades than regular movie stars. Thank you for keeping us entertained.
One that was missed and always wanted to know for over 30 years was the secret to how the Ultimate Warrior was able to survive being locked in the casket for about 6-8 minutes after the Undertaker put him in it.
They have a trap
@@Warncar_Xbox Yes was just thinking of that.

Sure there's not ppl cooking dogs and chopping a porn stars junk off, but knowing how the magic is done doesn't lessen the experience for me it amplifies it.
@@Godless_Trail I'm with you here. The magic isn't diminished for me. My respect for the men and women of the E only increased knowing how real the risks still are.
+1 Born in the 90s as well and I completely feel the same way. As a kid, it seemed magical and despite knowing it’s all scripted, I seem to respect them a lot more and watch it from a completely different perspective which is equally entertaining. Wishing you all a beautiful day ahead :)
But there was stricter kayfabe in the 1980s, old son
So I actually helped set up our arena for Monday Night Raw and helped set up the tables. They're real tables, and they cut off the band around the table and then spray painted them black so it looks like it's there. And they sawed the middle of the metal bars on both sides so it breaks easily. And of course we had to very carefully replace the stickers on them. They take the bands off because of an incident with hard-core Holly where when he broke through table, the band didn't break and sliced his back up badly
That's a pretty cool job. How'd you land that gig?

Stone Cold beer & Kurt Angle milk segment are memorable
For sure, I don't blame WWE for not using real milk for the 2001 or 2022 versions of that spot, the arena would (reasonably) not let them back when they returned to those cities. And being from the UK, it's not surprising to me that Americans used watered-down beer for anything...🤣🤣🍺🍺
It would be great if Lamia made 1 hour video atleast
The thing with the table spots is that they always try to use the slide lock 20 times while it's still upside down. But thats probably the same reason they don't just climb to the belt in a ladder match.
Hardy Boyz return are legendary
But internet revealed everything
@@lionheart650 It was pretty obvious thought they were coming back if you watched Impact Wrestling.
Return was great, everything else is why I hate WWE and what they end up doing to things that are great. 😒
The first time I was introduced to wrestling was seeing Mick get thrown off the cell. I was 4, and the show 20/20 kept replaying it. My dad told me it was "fake" but there's no faking that fall.
Thank you for the videos. Since I been watching the channel I have learned alot more than I knew. So yes this video was a reminder.

Jerry Lawler never actually listened to Vince or anyone else during his time behind the announce table
Nor should he because Vince is one of the worst announcers in wrestling history.
I knew that McMahon or whomever backstage would direct what Ross,Lawler,Cole, etc they would say. Maybe not word for word of course but what they want to get through to the audience, sale the storylines, what the company wants to be known to try to persuade how people should think (who is face, heel etc)
51 is Vince's numerous transgressions. 🤣❤️🇵🇭
I always wondered if that gum would land on someone's head lol
Nice to see that they find a way to make it a bit safer for the wrestlers. I think the ring should have some kind of foam or something so it wouldn't hurt the wrestlers as much at least (if they don't do that already) this makes me enjoy watching wrestling at home because it keeps the illusion there, and make it more enjoyable to watch. Thanks for posting this because I was curious.
The trash cans are real steel. I used to work for the company that made them for WWE. Behrens MFG in Winona, MN.
13:22 idk how a crash mat exactly works, but still a fall from this height? it always scares me.
its kind of like a mattress, its soft and then it goes down slowly after hitting it
@@colle3291 and its really save for falls of this height? like damn
@@Kaitri i would imagine it still hurt a lot but it does enough to prevent serious injury
It's kinda like that Mat in Lethal Weapon where that Guy tries to Commit suicide by Jumping off that Building.
Where's 20min of exposing Wrestlamia using the same content in 20 different videos, just by changing the title?
They edited Jake's close-up on the WM VII Coliseum Video release, but restored it in all future releases. I often wondered how I missed it as a kid. They used a crowd shot to hide it...
“It’s believed that the fake barbed wire uses rubber tips, which won’t cause damage.”
My understanding is the fake one had barbs made of solder.
There is also plastic barbed wire. You have to think about all the stuff available for movie and TV special effects they can use for spots.
a lot of this on the video I knew or figured out a long time ago but after 40 years of wwe I still enjoy watching them..
Hardcore tools like barbwire are special nowadays
Not if you watch GCW.
Hair being wet should be #1...Hair-ography is so important in wrestling...as well as for live music.

I’ve never understood how a wrestler manages to light the fire paper!
Woah. This is like a Wrestlelamia ‘top10’ suoercut!

I wouldn’t say someone getting counted out for climbing the ropes is a secret…
9:48 I have been waiting for these for 20 years
In summary, real thing but nerfed about 40%
They not only lie about the number of people attending the shows, but also about the wrestlers' real weights. They're also inflated in order to make them heavier of at least 20 pounds. If a wrestler is billed at 260 pounds, he's probably around 240 pounds in real life.
If the event is sold out where does the extra steel chair come from???
😂
To all naysayers if you doubt how tough taking a bump is go to a local wrestling school or contact your local promoter to try taking a bump. If you don't want to go through that, buy a 6ft latter, climb to the top, and jump off backwards on to a wood floor, a parking lot, an icy ground, or even if you want to be alot safer, on a damp ground, while trying to keep your head up to prevent cracking it on the ground.
Yet every wrestling youtuber happens to know which surprise comebacks happen before it does. WWE doesn't really keep those a secret well
yet, no, they dont.
