Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion | Bhushan's Fashion Friday

#shorts I visited Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC in June 2024. I found the concept sophisticated and thoughtful with a slick and elevated production and well curated picks from the Costume Institute collection.
The bird room was a standout for me and I also adored the Iris Van Herpen dresses - the snake dress was a very successful combination of conservation meeting cutting edge tech in my opinion. I was not sure what to expect but have to say I was pleasantly surprised overall - this was a quietly confident show and a return to form for Costume Institute spring exhibitions.
