The Coptic church of Egypt is another branch of christianity older than the Roman church. The Roman Empire had the military to enforce their brand of christianity so that it became the universal brand within the holy roman empire. Reaching everywhere the empire reached. Garvey was also a strong christian.

Supported by the Church of Ethiopia and Great Britian Selassie started a battle to force Lij Yasu out of the crown regent position and put himself as crown regent after the death of menelik. Lij Yasu as well as Empress Zauditu, and the whole Black royal family in Ethiopia was murdered by Selassie and his cronies, all of this was architected by the church and Great Britain. Marcus Garvey was in correspondence with the empress to bring UNIA technocrats to Ethiopia to help them modernize the country, but as Soon as selaasie overthrew the government this plan was stopped.

Emperor Haile Selassie I expressed deep faith in the Bible. Mutabaruka sets up a contrast between Bible-believing and Rastafari. There's none, from the very outset of Rastafari. He acts as if reading and believing the Bible as Emperor Haile Selassie I did prevents one from acknowledging the Emperor's history and contribution. Both can be done and both are done by Rastafari.
