    God bless all involved in helping our homeless! This is beautiful seeing people come together to help those who are need.

    I love this, "it was A shopping center at one point". And now look! Instead of letting the building sit there to rot out, they utilized an old store, for housing the homeless. (Which is what I usually hear myself and other ppl say, when out on the town and see empty buildings.

    They could have built actual rooms or small micoo apartments.

      I think that is a better idea, especially for the safety of parents and their children.

      They're still getting a safe place to sleep from the elements, still including the idea of pet owners, disables, and couples.

    Where's the free drug rehabilitation centers? Where's the mental health housing? Because we don't have a homeless problem, we have an addiction and mental health crisis. Get with it ffs

      Almost 90 % of homeless people in my town are people with mental problems, and they should be in mental institutions not on the streets. The rest are older people who lost their homes.

      @Ray D Hi Ray. The first comment is about the relationship between mental health and the housing crises, the second comment adds an on-topic anecdote related to that subject. Your comment, on the other hand, is that of a confused child who can't follow along with the conversation. It seems that it is your comment which has 'nothing to do with it' and that it is in fact, you who are the dumb bitch.

      @@spiritualhumanist there are no mental institutions that hold you for more than a couple weeks.... and if you do stay there for more time they label you as munchusens malingering ect which will prevent you from getting any help... and they abuse people in the hospitals... this is from experience. nurses don't really seem to care and will gaslight you. if you try and speak out you will continue to be gaslit.. the hospital is available but theese places purposefully gaslight in order to make sure you don't stay long.

    • @jamesmartens-y7s
      @jamesmartens-y7s Місяць тому

      the situation is extreme and people are legit not able to get any substantial help... that makes it so any money spent on homeless is just waisted... Im sober and it is hard enough to just get shelter not to mention getting mental health or substance abuse help would make it impossible. simply because the quality of care is so low....

    • @jamesmartens-y7s
      @jamesmartens-y7s Місяць тому

      this what happens when you spend all your budget to jail poor homeless and mentally ill instead of providing the proper channels for recovery... there are funds but they are misappropriated. or straight up pocketed.

    Warehousing the homeless. Waste of 4 million dollars. Separate units with just a little privacy would go a long way.

    Give people privacy. At least dividers/ curtains between beds. You need to build Mico rooms.

    THe more expensive it is, the less they can build, the less homeless can get help. I guess we prefer a small piece for everyone rather than big pieces for a few.

    It's good they serve food. Most shelters rely on the kindness of church and other groups to bring in meals every night of every year.

    At least something is being done people question their tax money the way I look at it is I gotta pay my taxes either way so who cares at least this is well spent better then digging up roads for no reason. Human compassion is important and I love the fact that piece of my tax payment goes into something like this

      Stories like these actually make me angry. That's because it's a decent-looking homeless shelter paid for by taxpayer money, but a lot of homeless people don't want to stay there simply because they're not willing to live by the rules which are "No alcohol, no drugs, must look for a job"

      Aetheon Pro Women are much more likely to be attacked, raped and killed than men.

    • @aetheonpro396
      @aetheonpro396 4 роки тому +1

      @@CaptchaNeon Killed?... no... men are more likely to be killed by men... Also, women are more likely to attack men than the pother way round because they can get away with it for being women... I myself have been openly abused by women and the police laughed at me and even threatened that if I hit her back, I would be arrested for abusing a woman. This also happens to my friends regularly because women know they can get away with it because for some reason, you aren't allowed to hit a woman in this culture regardless of what she does
      I mean, look at the media and how they are very comfortable with showing abusing men by slapping, hitting and even kicking them in the balls for comedic purposes. We all know for the most part, the media would never try that with women due to public out cry against it
      But that wasn't the issue... we don't talk about the problems men face but instead always nag them and call them toxic while ignoring men's problems... I mean most men aren't out there raping and murdering women... And this kind messaging has led to men be openly discriminated against by society.

    I love how you do the best you can to help them but even so, you’re the bad guy in their eyes since you don’t let them sleep in a private free room with free meals, place to shower and access to heating and cooling. I guess they’re more comfortable in the outdoors

    $4 million dollars to build this glorified jail? With no walls for privacy/safety/quiet. Imagine trying to sleep in a giant warehouse with hundreds of people, a lot of them with mental health issues. We have 18.6 million vacant homes in America, 3 times the number of homeless people. Why don't we give them actual homes and spend the money on mental health and substance abuse programs and getting them other help they need?

    That is awesome! Anyone can become homeless in the blink of an eye. I know that if I won the mega millions which is highly unlikely I would definitely build a really nice long term transitional facility for those who are willing to try to make certain adjustments in their lives in the loving name of Jesus Christ.

    This video is a SHAM... Homeless shelters are WICKED places. There is a reason why homeless ppl avoid them. drugs, fighting, awful awful things happen in those places
