Austin, if you don’t want the item wrapped, you can just let the clerk know when you’re buying it. They’ll actually appreciate not having to go through the hassle of wrapping it for you 😂 By the way, I really enjoy watching you guys talk every week. I think my English is at an upper-intermediate level and I’m learning a lot from your channel. Thanks!
As a resident of Seattle and a mother of a young boy, I believe that Americans appreciate gift wrapping almost as much as the Japanese do. Over the years, I’ve wrapped countless gifts for my son’s friends’ birthday parties, which has often left me feeling stressed. Selecting the perfect gift, gathering the right wrapping paper, ribbons, gift bags, and cards, and writing heartfelt messages on my son’s behalf became an elaborate task. I never paused to consider that perhaps the recipients valued the gifts more than the wrapping itself. Yet, I felt obligated to do it because no one else could, and paying extra for gift wrapping services wasn’t included in the price of the gift. I discovered beautifully wrapped gift boxes under Christmas trees displayed around the city. One of my former apartment buildings even provided a gift-wrapping station near the Christmas tree in the lobby, which brought me a small sense of relief.
I think Japan's wrapping culture can be a bit excessive.😂For the next topic, how about exploring different sleeping styles? When my friend from Canada first moved to Tokyo, she asked me an interesting question: "There's a sheet, a futon, a blanket, and a タオルケット, but if I'm going to sandwich myself between them, which order is best?"
😂OMG. Are you guys looking for a fight with us? Japanese people choose even wrapping papers and ribbons, thinking of you. It’s kinda art. You have a culture of gifts that giving presents with receipts for returning. If you ask me that style is not beautiful nor drab.
It must be crazy because Japanese says we have the Mottainai culture, but we waste papers and plastic. Soon, we will have Christmas after we skip the Thanksgiving. I remember it was fun to shop cards. Do I enjoy Christmas cards here? They look all same and no varieties and no humors. So, I had to sing up the American Greeting website, then I can send them to my friends in the states.
What’s up guys! Here’s a japanese guy who does agree with you! Especially Austin! I don’t like Japanese too much wrapping culture even I grow up in japan. That’s so Mendokusai thing and makes me so annoying.😂 On the other hand, I have a question for you two. If they think the wrapping is one of business strategy for making customers feel special in their shops such as pastry shops, what do you think about it? Because I think many shops do not wrap only for gift. Maybe gift for the customers who visit the shop.

小さいころ、過剰包装でもったいないし何でこんな物まで紙で巻くのかと不思議で仕方なったけど、今ではなるほどなぁ、と思うようになりました。
言葉では上手く言えませんが、目に見えない部分において大切な事だと思います。
Wordage is a real word 😂😂
I love wrapping packages too 😅

Could you talk about your favorite American UA-camr?
Im studying English with UA-cam. I'd like to watch the UA-camr to listen English.
アメリカに住んでいますが、アマゾンの包装を剥がすのが毎回面倒なのでそれと同じような気持ちかと想像しました
次の話題としてはやはり選挙関連でお話を聞いてみたいです
I always identify with Mr bouquet. 😮💨I am a big fan of Nirvana too.🤟🏼Japanese rap culture is absolutely insane crazy. 🙏🏻What a nasty.🤣
I have seen videos of some expats eating chips (crisps) with chopsticks on their vlogs, to keep their hands clean.
Would you pleaze talk about Woke that I heard often during the presidential campaigns?
