      So far for Irish books I've deviated and am reading The Wren, The Wren by Anne Enright, but hope to get to others as well. March is such a busy month!

    Great TBR as always. I hope you love Trespasses if you get to it. It is definitely more character lead than plot (apart from the last 50 pages) so bare that in mind 😉
    Hope you have a good reading time in March ❤

    Graham Norton is a favorite author of mine. Once I start his books, I can't put them down.
    I am lightly participating in Irish readathon. I have The Rachel Incident on audio ready to go.
    I am also participating in Middle Grade March, so that will be taking up most of my reading time.
    I will be interested to see what you finally read in your wrap up!

    Ha, your TBR does sound a bit crazy at first, but I figure you'll manage the six! Like the sound of the John Boyne book, and Trespasses is on my TBR 😊 Did you read Intimacies in the end? I've nearly finished it, and just thought of it now because it's another Irish book. I wasn't sure which book we were reading for April for book club, but now I know - thank you 💛

      Intimacies!! Whoops I forgot that one, I'll add it to my pile of possibilities.
      Yes it's crossing to safety first, then tattooist. As far as I know!
      Happy to pass the John boyne on x

    Angela’s Ashes is AMAZING. Some very funny snaps throughout a grey backdrop. I’m sure tears of laughter in parts. Almost Love sounds hardcore and ummmmm. Graham Norton - orange covered one? Let me know how you get on with this one. John Boyne one looks interesting. Where the Blarney Stone is Joyce!!! Get Dubliners down your thrapple. Pack vodka. The Van - another hilarious classic. X

      Thank you for the recommendations!! Right I'm prioritising Angela's Ashes then, it's one of the oldest I've got on my tbr in terms of when I bought them 🥰 xx

    My family book club is meeting on St. Patrick’s Day so we’re reading The Searcher by Tana French.
    Oh I always wanted to read Crossing to Safety too! Just got it on my kindle from the library. It was fun reading Q last month because we could chat about it without the stress of a buddy read. Maybe I’ll get to it, maybe I won’t, no pressure which makes it the dream! 😂
    Oh I the Ancestors out from the library but then returned it because I had way too many out.
    I’m so scared of The Fourth Wing!!!
    Oh I adore your vlogs! Can’t wait! 🎉❤

      @@YourTrueShelf Haha because it's fantasy and fantasy is hard for me PLUS it's SO hyped which makes me scared it won't live up to the expectations I have for it. Overhyped books frighten me!

    • @YourTrueShelf
      @YourTrueShelf  5 місяців тому

      @@RovingReader it's not a fantasy fantasy 😊 it's more of a romance with the addition of dragons! But I totally get what you mean about hyped books.

    I really enjoyed the one John Boyle I’ve read…”The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter.” What a beautiful story that was. I’ve been meaning to get to, “Don’t Touch My Hair”! I really, really enjoyed, “Trespasses” last year. 😊. Oh my gosh…I JUST mentioned Crossing To Safety in the video I filmed today. I was really enjoying this gentle story of the 4 characters…I just wasn’t in the mood…weird month. I agree…it’ll be a good book club book!

    My love of Claire Keegan is well documented, highly recommend. If you enjoy that Absolutist book and want to read more about COs in WWI, Adam Hochschild
    wrote a great book called To End All Wars. I'm really interested to hear how your GoodReads experiment goes, as I often find the books that existed before GoodReads and are not products of viral online marketing are much lower rated, and I kinda distrust anything rated too highly.

    • @YourTrueShelf
      @YourTrueShelf  5 місяців тому +1

      That's such a good point. I think Booktok has a lot to answer for in this scenario and yes, that explains a lot about older books and lower ratings.
      Thanks, I'm making a note of To End All Wars 👍🏻
      Sure Claire Keegan will be easy to add to the tbr due to its length.

      @@YourTrueShelf Forth Wing is particularly interesting to me as someone who works in marketing. This author who wrote what look like pretty trashy romances all of a sudden becomes a massively viral fantasy author, it's genius marketing. I kinda want to read it too.

    • @YourTrueShelf
      @YourTrueShelf  5 місяців тому +1

      @@AaronReadABook yeh I had no idea she's written so many books!! I know you like more traditional fantasy - this is more like the hunger games in style, but with more promise of romance. I want to stay up reading it, it's very gripping. It's obviously not beautiful literature, but it's nice to just have a fun read. Plus I love the dragons!!
