Hey man do you have idea how mixing engineer make vocals modern sounding airy is it in mixing or hardware equipment in recording? Cause when im watching mixing tutorials from pro they add minimal plugins only eq, compression and they don't saturate vocal but how vocals comout sounds so modern polish.?

@@zachpitt9249 it’s a mixture of a good vocal performance with a good recording technique. Hardware does help a lot when used correctly to enhance a performance. However, in the mix, eq and compression is mainly for dynamic control and tonal shaping, so when engineers use barely any plugins, it usually means during the recording process the source already sounds 90% finished. You can try boosting 10-16k for air but if there isn’t much frequency content up there to begin with, then boosting up there isn’t going to help you much. I’ll make a video soon about this to help explain the topic better.
