10:10 oh Mary, you are so patient and polite. At that level of exhaustion, heat and humidity I think I’d be a lot more irritable to people like that lady.
I run in the UK with no weather issues but when I went running in koh samui the heat and humidity was so hard to deal with. So ultimate respect to you guys. Keep the videos coming. They are great
Fun fact: your “first” ultra marathon video was the first one I ever watched on the channel. I did my first 50k last fall leading up to my first 100k at Javelina. It was as hard as this race and I had a 9 hour cut off. Missed it by 3 min, but I finished. You did great Mary! Way to gut it out.👊🏼😎
Hi folks, just a suggestion. In the corner of the frame, you could consider putting a GPS map of the course plus current location marker. Km and total time figures would also be fantastic!
Great run Mary! Ultra’s are so tough in the humidity & heat(especially when we’re not used to it!) Big congratulations on completing your first official ultra. My friend Kazim met you guys in Thailand. He was out with an injury. Ben was good enough to send me a well done video on completing my first ultra at Mt Kosci in Australia. Love you guys! Irish Cat ❤️
Ben the quality of your video production has gone to new levels, watching them is worth the licence fee 😀 you guys are providing so much motivation, satisfaction and joy. Wishing you every happiness
Well done Mary!!! It's always hard to capture steepness on camera. Whenever I take a picture of a steep slope it doesn't look half as steep on the picture...
Congratulations Mary! I was blown away by how you clung to your positivity, even after the pain and struggles set in! I was honestly relieved to hear you talk about them, because I can't imagine many people just sail through a challenging race like that trouble free. Wishing you a quick recovery, and can't wait to see what you get up to next! And I wish a friendly dog was part of every aid station! 😂
Amazing achievement. Still working hard (while enjoying it) to train for my first marathon to be completed. Massive kudos to you both and thank you for all the joy you both spread around running. Always fun and inspiring to see!
You and Ben are amazing....I took on my first 50k this year as well, no where near the climbing you just did though. Love the channel and all your vidoes
Oh man that looked brutal Mary, congrats hun what an entrance into the world of ultra running - my 1st one was the Jurassic Coast Ultra and it was savage it took me nearly 10 hrs to cover the 58k …… look after those feet Mary ur gonna need them !!! 💪👊👏👏🫶 xx
Fantastic! Congratulations Mary. Great to see a real rundown of how the race was throughout. Got my first 50K in a few short months, so found this particularly helpful. Well done, thanks for all the inspiration, both of you ~ Amy, NZ
First of all congratulations to all of you for completing the race. I was on the same Hmong50 race as well and like last year's 20km, I miss meeting you guys! I sure can relate to many of your comments. Especially "the downhill was brutal " part. But in the end just glad to finish the race. Totally agree to Ben's comment on the thoughts about "before and after a race" bit.
Well done Mary, phenomenal achievement on a really tough looking course! I picked a flatter one for my first this summer, a mere 1700m over 56km, but managed to find weather in the UK that rivalled Thailand - 28C average with a high of 35C - who knew Cheshire had such weather!
Looks like an awesome adventure, these videos are always so full of culture, nature, pain and happiness. This is exactly one of my goals! 2024 Autumn first marathon, then slowly training for an ultra. Started seriously running 7 months ago, and this channel has been the largest inspiration.
Love the song at 5:20. Any chance you could post what it is? Also, amazing job Mary!!! Love this and inspires me all over again to do an ultra at some point!!!
Hey Mary, well done! Sorry, I couldn’t wait till you finished. I had to get back to meet my transport back to Bangkok. At 10:10, who is that women to talk like that to you? Anyway, if you want a really beautiful trail with heavenly views and challenging terrain, then you may want to consider Tulay Trail in November.
I had some woman scream at me on a race like that woman shouting at Mary, seriously there is always one. Ruined the experience totally for me will never go back to that venue. Sorry Mary, hope she didn't get to you 😖
Hey, I’m not sure what to do as there was definitely space in the shoes and it felt like my feet were sliding down to the end every step. I think I might switch back to my old shoes for the next race - or try a different way of lacing them tighter 👍🏼
It was harsh, but I've seen people actually purposefully cheat in ultras, and it causes an anger like no other! 😂 But tone matters, especially when you're not 100% sure!
Haha the group at 10:10, do better. You crushed it Mary
Seriously, so rude!!
10:10 oh Mary, you are so patient and polite. At that level of exhaustion, heat and humidity I think I’d be a lot more irritable to people like that lady.
Definitely. Hard to not blurt out: 'Shut it, Karen.'
I run in the UK with no weather issues but when I went running in koh samui the heat and humidity was so hard to deal with. So ultimate respect to you guys. Keep the videos coming. They are great
Mary "...river crossing and didn't fall in..boom" 🔥 Favourite line!!

Oh wow, that must have been gutting! Congratulations on such a huge accomplishment!
Hi folks, just a suggestion. In the corner of the frame, you could consider putting a GPS map of the course plus current location marker. Km and total time figures would also be fantastic!
5:48 Well done on the incident-free river crossing! 👏 I fell in a river crossing last weekend - twice. 🙄 It's par for the course, for me.
That looked so tough! Those climbs!! Really steep and really technical! Well done Mary! You never fail to inspire.
Great run Mary! Ultra’s are so tough in the humidity & heat(especially when we’re not used to it!) Big congratulations on completing your first official ultra. Hey Cat! It was so nice to meet Kazim - well done to you from me too!
Ben the quality of your video production has gone to new levels, watching them is worth the licence fee 😀 you guys are providing so much motivation, satisfaction and joy. Wishing you every happiness
15:36 "WE'VE just recovered". Glad to hear you're recovered from that run Ben 😂
Good job, Mary :)
Mary you are so inspiring 💗💗💗
Great job, Mary! That looks very tough. You're hard core in book. /salute
As soon as you see "switchbacks" you know it's getting real!
Well done!
You did so well, couldn't even imagine having to run in those conditions
Well done - Congratulations Mary!!
Brilliant Mary. Congratulations and well done.
That was fantastic Mary!
Seeing your emotion at the end - that showed how hard you worked and pleased you were. Well done Mary
Amazing Mary I love how you still want to do another ultra even after being in so much pain. My aim for 2024 is to do my first ultra in my 59 year.
Well done Mary!!! It's always hard to capture steepness on camera. Whenever I take a picture of a steep slope it doesn't look half as steep on the picture...
Good on ya Mary 🎉 very inspiring for me ❤✨

You are just amazing, Mary. The way you toughed that out! Thank you for sharing the journey and always being so inspiring ❤
How wonderful to see the same race from a different perspective! Mary gave a great sense of the course elevation. Congratulations to both of you!
Oh man that looked brutal Mary, congrats hun what an entrance into the world of ultra running - my 1st one was the Jurassic Coast Ultra and it was savage it took me nearly 10 hrs to cover the 58k …… look after those feet Mary ur gonna need them !!! 💪👊👏👏🫶 xx
Fantastic stuff Mary, congratulations
Awesome running Mary 👏 loved seeing the emotion at the head ☺️ it's just the best feeling of achievement 💪
Fantastic! Congratulations Mary. Great to see a real rundown of how the race was throughout. Got my first 50K in a few short months, so found this particularly helpful. Well done, thanks for all the inspiration, both of you ~ Amy, NZ
Well done Mary 😊 you're an inspiration to me as a runner, I almost cried with you at the end!
First of all congratulations to all of you for completing the race.

Congratulations Mary & Ben! 🎉 You guys inspire me everyday! Thank you for running distances. 😇
Well done Mary, awesome stuff! Really inspirational!
Great job, Mary! Love your positive mentality!!!!
Signed up for another already, you’re crazy! 😂 That was a tough one to tackle but you made it. Even filmed it. Enjoyed this video!
Bravo Mary and Ben. Although it looks painful I bet it was beautiful to run in the nature. Cheers. Looking forward to the next one.
You’re an inspiration to me Mary! While watching you struggle I, for some reason, am getting the idea of looking up ultras in my area to tryout!
Bravo, I bet that feels good to get that one out there, I can imagine how tuff it must be in that heat
Well done Mary, phenomenal achievement on a really tough looking course! I picked a flatter one for my first this summer, a mere 1700m over 56km, but managed to find weather in the UK that rivalled Thailand - 28C average with a high of 35C - who knew Cheshire had such weather!
Cheshire cannot have this weather!! I’ve never seen it! 😂 well done 😊💪🏼
Well done Mary!
Congrats you guys. That is awesome. Well done Mary!
Well done Mary! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Well done Mary! Great achievement. Wasn’t impressed with that lady that shouted at you because she incorrectly thought you were taking a short cut!
Rockstar! Great job. Inspired to do an ultra next year.
Wow great content! Looks like the great Bangkok traffic manifest itself at Doi Inthanon! At least the queues are orderly.
Well done an amazing run and a great true life video.
So excited to watch this one. Amazing run Mary. You are such a tough little pocket rocket.Congratulations ❤
Superb effort Mary, well done. Feeling super inspired today.
Congrats!! What an accomplishment. My goal is to do a 50k hopefully next year.
You’ve inspired me to do itq
Congratulations!🎉
Thanks Jean 😊
Well done. very inspirational.

Welcome to the world of ultras!! Once you get bitten, there's nothing like it! Have fun!
Love the song at 5:20. Any chance you could post what it is? Also, amazing job Mary!!! Love this and inspires me all over again to do an ultra at some point!!!
What a great achievement. I hope to do a half marathon this spring.
Awesome! Good luck 😊
I was sure Mary had run a bunch of ultras before. Good job though for the first time!
Well done Mary! Nice viewe for me since I do minfirst Swimrun ultra this summer
Congrats on your finish Mary! You never fail to inspire, I love watching you race! Also, those poles look so awesome, what are they??
They were so good! They are from LEKI
And thank you 😊
Hey Mary, well done!
Hey Steve, sorry I missed you!! Tulay sounds good - will look it up 👍🏼 did you run at utmb? Hope all is well with you
I had some woman scream at me on a race like that woman shouting at Mary, seriously there is always one. Ruined the experience totally for me will never go back to that venue. Sorry Mary, hope she didn't get to you 😖
🎉👏
Mary, are you going to try a half size larger shoe, perhaps, for downhills?
Hey, I’m not sure what to do as there was definitely space in the shoes and it felt like my feet were sliding down to the end every step. I think I might switch back to my old shoes for the next race - or try a different way of lacing them tighter 👍🏼
Don’t know how you do it, ran my first half today, now on the sofa broken😂
Jeez I think I would have cried if someone had yelled at me at that point of a long run.😅 😕
Well done Mary 🎉
It was a tad harsh.
It was harsh, but I've seen people actually purposefully cheat in ultras, and it causes an anger like no other! 😂 But tone matters, especially when you're not 100% sure!
Hope you didn't lose too many toe nails. Amazing amazing stuff doing a challenge while filming
Well done Mary 👏
