    Thanks for your review. Didn't know about the front airlock chin tab until I watched. Much appreciated.

    Darn good commentary and review from a “painter!” Many thanks. I was midway through trying to take the Interior neck pieces out and was starting to make up new swear words. Glad you covered this and thought your review was quite comprehensive after I’ve had a number of long rides with this helmet. Overall, enjoying the helmet and feel Shark made a number of good improvements with this one.

      Yes its a good helmet,I've just had a motorbike accident with mine and the insert is toast but the helmet itself held up well,nothing came off , but time for a new one. Ill definitely be buying another one of these

    I have had the Evo one-two since Christmas and not had either the time or the weather to try mine out yet. You are so lucky in Australia with your beautiful climate.

      Yes we are so lucky, but it does get bloody hot,thats what makes this a perfect helmet

    Love the review! It would have been nice to have the old one there to compare the two. Fantastic Video! Thanks For Sharing!

    Great, HONEST user’s review. I’m late to the party & have a myriad of different styled helmets but no modular. Honestly I hadn’t bought one as mostly they look like u have a bloody 6 pack of beer perched on your head! Better ways to carry that 6 pack!🤣 I tried on this model helmet today & will pick it up Monday. Aside from the noise problem the design is fantastic. I’m half deaf in one ear so my problem is somewhat alleviated! Again nice review!👍🏻

      Thanks mate, I still use that helmet daily and other than the normal wear and tear it's still great.

    I just rode 100km in this helmet (in the rain). I totally agree with your review. Awesome helmet but too noisy. I used to have a Shoei Neotec, I had to change it because it was totally worn out and I got this one. The Evo One is waaay much noisier than the Shoei and it feels more "cheap", but it is more cheap, so it´s ok... But beside the noise and the "cheapness" the rest it´s very good.

    I have recently got back into motorbiking after a 12 year layoff and brought this helmet to replace my BMW System Three. I am surprised how noisy this helmet is compared to the System Three. I have an answer about your comment on the function of the spoiler: It incorporates vents so hot air can exit the helmet when the inlet vent are open.

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  7 років тому

      I now know about the vent, another subscriber mentioned it.Yes its noisy but very practical,
      I've been riding in extreme heat here around 40-45 degrees some days and its been good.Yet to try it n the winter yet,thats when I think for me it will be noisy when I drop the shield.
      Earplugs time :)

    I've just uploaded another video today on how easy it is to change the Shark Evo one from Open to Full face on the moving bike.
    I've had it now for around 5 months and all good, not one thing has gone wrong with it.

    That's why I stick with Schuberth for modular helmets, I actually have the C3 pro and it is way more quite than even a lot of full face helmets, very confortable. It is even less heavy than my Arai XD-4...but the graphics could be better

    I just bought a small which comes with a 45mm cheek pad. I do not want to remove the foam so plan to buy a smaller cheek pad. The smallest for the shell size is M at 35mm but the XXL from the larger shell is 25mm. Not sure whether the XXL will fit or if not the 10mm reduction will be enough. Any views?

    Terrific video mate. A great help to me. I'm trying to decide what Modular to get. I've been thinking of a Evo 3 or Hjc possibly a Boxer!! But would definitely go for the Evo one now. Main problem would be knowing what size to get. I measure exactly 56cm. I ride a Suzuki Bandit 1250 & Triumph Thruxton 900. Graham, Bundaberg. Qld

      What I did was go to the BMW bike shop and they ordered in med and large and let me know when they came in. I tried them on and purchased the one that fits best. You won't be disappointed, I still have mine, Still love it, gonna do another video shortly.
      Its probably done 50,000 km now and still great.

    sure bro... i bought it from the local shop. its monsoon season here in malaysia so really relying on the pinlock.. without it its dangerously foggy inside ! but shark claims that theyve sorted out the issue of the rubbing.... we shall see. Hopefully yours is not affected (looks like new design) , as mine is the first batch - white evo one krono

  • @wasrwa76
    @wasrwa76 7 років тому +1

    nice review bro ! ive got one myself. but do u have the problems whereby the pinlock rubs onto the helmet body causing it to be hazy along the line of sight? Going for the warranty as we speak.

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  7 років тому

      We are in summer season here in Australia so the pinlock hasn't even made it out of the box yet?
      Thanks for mentioning it , hope you bought yours off a local bike store as I did and not online.
      We have only a small winter here so hopefully that issue wont affect me as much.
      Thanks for watching and commenting.
      Keep the shiny side up.

    brand new my EvoLine3 helmet need repair. Chin curtain Area is ungluing in less than two weeks.
    The vents are flimsy. I had to move the mouth screen myself as it was inverted.
    The helmet whistles from12mph to 45mph.
    There’s a huge amount of air over my face with closed vents.
    I ride a fat bob cruiser. If on a sport bike helmet would be quieter n less windy.
    Helmet lifts off the head starting at 80+mph and bobbles.

      That's the evoline 3 your talking about,my first one was good but the second one I purchased was as you said,as if it was a Chinese copy, I sent mine back. But this evo 1 is so different, I still use it daily,and it's been a long time,no problems, I use it still on my road glide and now on my triump tiger,.
      I watched your video my friend,hang in there,

    Great review, I've been getting more and more keen on this helmet, right up to the point you mentioned the noise. That's disappointing and probably a deal breaker for me. I'm looking to add a Bluetooth and speakers to it and I'm not sure how well this would work with ear plugs in from a volume and comfort point of view. If only you could do a noise test in the shop.

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  7 років тому +1

      Steve Green I still have and use this helmet,yes bluetooth is hit and miss but there still isnt anything out there on the market that does what this helmet does. Its still abuy from me.

      ThePa1nter Yes, it seems that all all other flip up helmets just flip up at the front and prevent any use of the main visor when flipped up. This Shark is unique in that way. Might go look at one tomorrow.
      Thanks for the reply 👍

    Nice review. I am trying to decide between the Evo One and Evoline so this was very useful. A few questions if i may:
    1. My head size is in between small and medium and i am advised that i should go for the smaller size yet the size of the small Evoline was very tight on my cheeks, whereas the meduim was way more comfortable. In fact the sales assistant suggested i go for the medium.
    2. Overall is which is the noisier helmet?

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  7 років тому

      Gary Phillips
      i will be doing a video on cheekpads soon but when you try on thr helmet ,take the cheekpads out see how it feels,i removed all the stuffing out of mine. fixed that problem, i boight a large,wished id bought a medium
      evo one is noisier with faceshield down because of the wind noise from the vents but with shield up and sunvisor down its fine.
      evo one is a much more refined helmet.

    • @garyphillips4177
      @garyphillips4177 7 років тому

      Ok so I think you are saying that if in between size get the smaller and remove the cheek pad foam and go for the Evo-One over the Evoline 3. However that would make me a small and I can get an Evoline 3 small for $299. If that were the case would you still pay the extra and go for the Evo-One?

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  7 років тому

      That depend on a couple of things, do you need a pinlock as evo one comes standard with one?(But I have heard they scratch easy) Do you want the larger helmet or the smaller one? Sunvisor also is far superior on the evo one, .
      Its hard to buy a helmet without trying it on first,the evoline series 3 helmet is a fine long lasting helmet and if you can fit in a small (especially if the price is much lower,even lower online,I have seen the small as low as $100 AUD on ebay) you would be safer to get the evoline series 3 in small, pull out the cheekpad foam , then when you can try on an evo one,go the upgrade then. Lots of money difference between the two,
      Can the place who stock your evoline series 3 get in the evo one in for you to try on , thats what I did, they got a med and large and I chose the large, I would have chosen the med if I'd thought about the cheekpad foam?

    • @garyphillips4177
      @garyphillips4177 7 років тому

      They don't plan to stock the Evoone and only had one Evoline left. i could ask about getting one in but probably would be asked to commit to buying which ever fitted when i plan to buy online as they are so much cheaper that way. Either that or travel 100k into Sydney.

    • @garyphillips4177
      @garyphillips4177 7 років тому

      PS. Do you believe the Evoline 3 and Evoone are the same size? Did you get the same size in each or should have done? I tried the Evoline 3 in small (The last one they had) today and it was fine without the cheek pads in.Snug but not too tight.

    My evoline 3 was quieter open than closed. I think because the sides where the ears are have the front chin part of the helmet deflecting wind. Thoughts?

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  5 років тому

      Yes I agree, keeping it open slightly seems to keep it quieter. I ride 95% open with sunvisor down .

    Would you say that the new evo-one is noisier than the evoline 3 ?? btw,, good review. I have over 2 years on my evo-3 now,, and am pretty pleased with it.

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  7 років тому

      If you like the evoline 3 you'll love the Evo-one ,I just got back yesterday from a two day ride of around 1000km and wore no earplugs but I am finding it noisier with the faceshield down than with it open,more of the sucking the outside air in.The tinted drop down glasses are sooo much better than Evoline 3.
      I only just took off my pinlock yesterday and found it has been rubbing so if you dont need the pinlock, its still an awesome helmet.

    • @Porsche359
      @Porsche359 7 років тому

      I do wear custom moulded industrial earplugs with my Evo-3,, as they do a great job of blocking out the wind noise,, and let you hear my very quiet ST-1300 better. I find most riders never go without plugs,, after testing them out. But,,, back to the helmets,, I am glad to see the added ventilation, even though I ride the E-3 %85 open face. I am jealous of your graphics,, btw. Nice lid !!

      you have made my mind up. had my evo 3 from the start of the line. it's well past it's best now so time to give it up :(
      one tip on the strap use acf50 the spring it will rust. had to clip in the side plates for it to lock. + a tip for a evo 3 + pinlock you can diy a shoei (DKS021) in there

    #sharkhelmets #EvoOne, NOT TO BE USED IN THE RAIN.
    If you lift the visor, the inner face of the visor is so close to the outer skin of the helmet the rain transfers onto the inside of the visor, once lowered into position rain is on inside leaving visibility poor & dangerous

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  6 років тому

      I never use mine with the visor down only with sun shade down,.You are right there is a problem with the visor but there isnt another helmet available that is as handy as this one.

    I purchased my first Evo Shark helmet just prior to the pandemic so it has literally only been used about six times and it is a piece of crap. All of the rubber trim is falling off or coming loose. Do not walk away from this helmet RUN INSTEAD THIS IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF SHIT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED.
