- Hi! By popular demand, here are a few of my stats, extracurricular activities, and advice!
*Edit: I realized I forgot to talk about my GPA. My school doesn't have weighted GPAs so 9-11th grade I had a 4.0, and then by the end of 1st semester senior year my cumulative GPA was a 3.98 since I got one B in the first semester of my senior year.*
Also, one major extracurricular that is not included was swimming. I was captain of my high school team and I swam for a club team for over a decade!

10 years from now we're gonna see this girl in the news for discovering life on another planet or some other revolutionary discovery and we can all say we knew her first.

22 aps & didn’t get into Harvard. That just degraded my confidence.
I believe when you have more than 10 APs, good SAT, good extracurricular activities, good essays, then you got a lottery ticket for Harvard and U. of Chicago. They are so unpredictable.
@@nartrof90 yeah it's legit a wild card for all these top schools and that's why it's not uncommon for people to apply to all of them so that they have more lottery tickets. I'm probably going to have a STACKED transcript by the end of high school and I still don't think I'll get into some of those schools. This just goes to show how fricking competitive and random they are.

And on top of ALL THAT, you were able to talk about yourself and your accomplishments in such a way that it is very evident that you aren't arrogant, entitled, unprincipled, or overly self-absorbed. What a special young lady you are! DON'T EVER CHANGE!

That can be to your benefit, though. My school didn't offer many APs so I only ended up taking 4... still got into MIT. If I had went to a more rigorous school, I might not have gotten in because I doubt I would have had the time to devote to the extracurricular activities that I pursued.... and I'm not a fan of learning through lectures; I much prefer hands on learning. Ultimately, make the best out of your situation.

That means that the other people they admitted, are even harder working (crying emoji), and that's impossible to imagine!!!! I don't think I've seen someone so dedicated like her. She's PERFECT!!!!!!
Who knows!? One thing I can think of is that sometimes extraordinary candidates, such as Eva, are also at risk of marring cross-admit rates among highly prestigious schools. Harvard admissions probably took into account her dedication for Physics, a dedication seemingly paramount against her other activities. And of course, Harvard's specialty is rooted in a superb liberal arts program. She might just be to quantitative for them and hell that's a good thing - she's wicked smart!
Marlly Mbungu she is incredible! But what colleges look for is so mysterious and honestly we will never know what they really look for. The people who have gotten into Harvard are not all smarter or more qualified than her.
@@marllymbungu1721 It doesn't necessarily mean they worked harder it means that the people who applied had more desirable features that they needed for example if harvard needed a opera singer they would accept that student instead of her. And a lot of the times colleges turn down kids if they see that they have been accepted by other ivies

How in the world do you take 10 AP exams over two weeks. I took 7 junior year, but I was really done after that lol, and they were definately not as difficult as physics, etc.

It's December 12th as I'm writing this and I am sorry if my English has some not so right stuff, but I am from Portugal, Europe.
I am in Sophomore year of High School. Here in Portugal we are able to choose a specific curriculum area to study, almost like in College except that it covers more diversity of studies. I'm in Languages & Humanities course, which means I have Portuguese/English/History/Geography/German/P.E./Philosophy. I hear you and thank you so much for the great advice (I really admire you, btw! I trully do. I am an excellent student, but you... GIRL) anyway, thank you so much. I know what I'm passionate about, I know what I want to do for the rest of my life, I know what I love and I'm good at above all. - Criminal Psichology! Forensic Science! Psichology in general!
I really really love those things, my problem is: there are no resources and options for me to go deeper on those areas, on studying them, on bringing my knowledge and investment on them to the next level, as you said. We only have that opportunity in College, there are not any kind of activities, extracurriculars, contests, summer programs on that kind of stuff and that really makes me feel down and bad, it takes my motivation away, because I know that that's what Ivy League colleges are looking for, specially Harvard (my choice n.1) and I don't know what to do...
Anyway, I don't really know if you have any kind of personal advice for me abt this, I hope you do because, as I said, I really look up to you and I think you're great.

Mihir Savkar i think you should go for it! SSP takes people with a wide range of scores. Just make sure to demonstrate your interest in stem in the application!

Eva, you got admissions before OR after the results of the AP tests you took in grade 12? My school provides only 10 AP classes. The possible max AP to take is about 8 because of prerequisites and time conflict. To strengthen the application, I have two alternatives: take college classes at U of Washington or take AP tests without class. Which one helps more? Thanks,

What did you do to study for your physics exams? I love physics but we all know that the exams pass rates are one of the lowest in the country.
