@@mihaelaniculae7502 Honestly, I loved Vanessa’s fashion sense. Her style was different and she actually dressed like any other girl would dress in New York. That’s called street fashion.

She had the worst style on the show by far. There's nothing wrong with giving her a more bohemian look, but they put her in so many mismatched and unflattering outfits.

@@janedoll3237 Agreed. They didn’t go deep enough. Blair and Serena’s outfits from seasons 5-6 were the most outrageous.
Blair's white outfit in ep 1x02 was supposed to coordinate with Chuck's, and perhaps give a clue about their future together. Her red tights for ep 1.10 was probably the costumers attempt at making her outfit more TV friendly for the make out scene with Chuck later on. Also I'd guess that Jenny's outfit was heavily influenced by Taylor's style transformation into a real life rockstar at the time too. Everything else though ITA with you.
I like Blairs white outfit and Serenas floral dress. Nothing wrong with either. Maybe Blair could've worn different or no tights with it but it didn't exactly look like a disaster.

But I have always liked an outfit with red tights 🙁 Blair's style has always been my favorite due to its bold accessories, bright colors and fancy headbands! Somehow I don't feel like it's too far... Maybe it's because I also choose quite bold outfits sometimes 😅

A few of these were definitely atrocious but you also have to remember that some of these were also really "in" for 2007-2009 fashion. Like colored tights & the "baby doll" tops

I love the first one - Blair pulls off the "prissy" white dress. Quite cottagecore. I liked the second one too - Serena is exactly the type to wear something "too casual" to brunch. Suits her carefree, often reckless personality. Third one is...you're right about that actually, that orange thing makes nobody look good. This entire thing could've been solely dedicated to vanessa's outfits, why did the stylists do her so dirty omg

omg the red tights outfit is one of my favorites from blair! its very much girly and a standoffishly brave from other outfits of her. it shows a totally different side and vibe from her classic,preppy and safe outfits while showing off her taste with how she makes the bold colors and the patterns work, it's a total breath of fresh air!

I think that the stylist took into consideration the character's personality and in a wierd way, most of these in my opinion work for the episode and plot... and Blair is an elegant fashionista... she is perfect

Yellow outfit is a hit for me, I loved the contrast of the Black and Yellow. The high collar and gloves gave it something different as well.
Someone in these comments said it best. These style choices made sense at the time they were made. Part of being a style icon is pushing boundaries. That is why Blair is on the list so much. Honestly, the thing I hated most was commitment to head bands. It’s weird. I know it’s supposed to be like a crown but what fashionista is committed to one accessory like that? I was glad when she grew up and was rid of it.

What about Jenny's look at her cotillion. I thought she looked horrible. For your cotillion you're supposed to go all out but she looked pretty basic and average. She wore black which was expected. Then she had those ridiculous black gloves. It was a mess. She was the worst dressed at the cotillion in my humble opinion. What about Serena's wedding dress in the final episode of Gossip Girl. I didn't like it too much. There was more gold than white. Also please do Top 10 Times Chuck Bass Was The Best and Top 10 Times Jenny Was The Worst.

Serenas wedding made somewhat sense as it was supposed to resemble the gold dress cotillion dress Serena wore. Not exactly a traditional but made sense to the couple.

I actually lile many of the outfits in this list. Like Serenas yellow dress from her mom's wedding. I understand that some of Jenny's outfits are questionable, but it fits her personality and that is the important thing. That makes it special. I like that gossip girl did try some new fashion styles, even risking a dilema.
I rarely liked anything Vanessa wore. I get that she was not as rich as the rest of the gang but the costume designer could have tried harder.

Rich people often dress horrible. They buy expensive pieces but no clue how to match them and dress themselves nicely. Gossip Girl had some fantastic fashion moments but I believe it reflected that pretty well also, that luxury and standing out is most important.

Your honourable mentions included two of my all time fave gossip girl looks lol. Blair's iconic roman holiday outfit and Serena's boarding school uniform. I agree with some aspects of this list though. I never realised how tragic Blair's yale university outfit was. Usually her fits were fire. Vanessa's tangerine dress and Chuck's basketball outfits were the worst by far though.

clearly the narrator doesn't have much of a fashion background - she called Serena's iconic 2009 yellow Ralph Lauren dress ugly... Just the one that connected Blake and Ralph Lauren to design her mat gala dress because this look was so iconic.
I liked elements in all outfits honestly.
Almost everything Blair wore in the show is still fashionable today. Her white dress is timeless, the red tights are back in fashion etc. This list was made to be about Vanessa, sorry not sorry. 😂
