One thing that really dissapointed me with the show was how they handled her eating disorder; in the books its really obvious, in the show it is mentioned maybe 2 times. Leighton could have given this so much depth, but has never given the chance.

I know in the show she was supposed to be to a point where she'd already received help - I think they didn't want to put it in the show in fear of backlash or criticism of how they would've handled it but I personally would've loved to see it. The show isn't 13 reasons why ( don't get me started on how harmful that show is to your mind and especially teens going through actual depression!) and media nowadays gets so stuck on accurate portrayal that we forget the density of what it is. It's horrible and real for people not just an emotionally compelling performance! And we watch shows to teach us lessons, connect to characters, and entertainment. The way a show makes you feel after watching it shouldn't be stressed, triggered or drained. So the show did a good job of mentioning those real life issues without putting too much emphasis.

Gossip girl is one of my all time favorites and blair has a special place in my heart! I love her character and I love how leighton portrayed it. I also love her relationship with chuck (although kind of problematic) and that chuck wasn't just blairs love interest or vice versa. They were their own person, with or without each other. Blair is a character that under any other context I would despise but I'm head over heels for her thanks in no small part to Leighton Meester's performance. She's not a very good person but the only other character on the show that approaches her depth is Chuck. That makes Blair a far better friend than Serena ever was. Because how many of us can really forgive our bestfriends for cheating with their boyfriends not once, but twice?

I just completed the last season last night, after putting it off for years and years, and now I'm going through major Gossip Girl withdrawals :( I already knew Dan was GG (still unbelievable) because of spoilers, and twitter going absolutely insane back in 2012. But what really gets me emotional is, Blair and Chuck will never bless us with their onscreen chemistry presence again. Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf - what an incredibly talented actress, Blair will always be an iconic character, I loved her sass, and one-liners.
