  • I test out a water mist system, for outside cooling down hot sweaty people :-)
    I watch quit a few UA-camrs in Portugal,, and they have struggled with 42C+ temperatures. And we have har record high temperatures here in denmark as well. So I wanted to see if this might be a solution. To keep cooler when it is really hot.
    [Affiliate Links] - The system in the video, was €26,25 I think I was very lucky,,now it is way more.

    My PlayHouse is a channel where i will show, what i am working on. I have this house, it is 168 Square Meters / 1808.3ft² and it is full, of half-finished projects.
    I love working with heating, insulation, Servers, computers, Datacenter, green power, alternative energy, solar, wind and more. It all costs, but I'm trying to get the most out of my money, and my time.

    Love it 👍♥ As you say a small pressure chamber after the pump. Maybe a 2L fizzy drink bottle with a rubber bladder inside could work. Top idea for hot days. 🤣

      Great idea!,, but I just looked up 0.8Mpa,, that is 8 BAR (up to 8BAR) I need one of the better fizzy drink bottle's :-)

    Hi Morton,
    I would like to see it fully soldared powered! Your idea with an pressure tank will help with the pulses i think. Maybe you could try to connect an pressuretank from a CV system. I would love to see that!

    You could get more time running it direct on 12vdc. Hook it directly to the batterry. Converting to 12vdc from 120vac takes power and it is waste.

    Thanks for this test, you said the pump was rated for 5 lit per min max, with the nozzles what was the water consumption in the end ? In other words how long last your water jar on full duty cycle?

    • @MyPlayHouse
      @MyPlayHouse  Місяць тому

      It does not use a lot of water,, I did not measure, but I would estimate 10liter per ½ hour,,-ish

    hmm yum, Legionella

  • @Tjousk
    @Tjousk 2 роки тому +1

    Those are good little pumps, I have a couple.
    They will self prime if the outlet is open.
    Could run it at a lower voltage to reduce the motor speed so it doesn't pulse so often, perhaps 8 volts? (Don't want to go too low though, or it might overheat.)

    • @MyPlayHouse
      @MyPlayHouse  2 роки тому

      Humm less voltages,, I did not think of that.. maybe.

  • @dennisolsson3119
    @dennisolsson3119 2 роки тому +1

    Not meant as a safety rant, but a tip is to use clean water each time to minimize the risk of legionella.

  • @whistler2000

    one thing that would worry me would be lesteria or other things in the water system, the ones that are used in the veggie department in the local stores are way bigger with cleaning systems.

    Maybe finer jets would give smaller droplets and make the mist move more with the wind.

      Water mist systems are used for cooling down,, I did not get this idea out of nothing :-) I was in LA. and visiting Universal Studio,, and they had the system everywhere.
