And with you as well, Anton. Going through some of my darkest days right now and your music is helping to move me forward. Peace and love to you, brother.
This was the first ever BJM song I'd listened to - courtesy a good friend of mine. I can't thank her enough for introducing me to this universe. I remember, 6 years ago, backpacking across Europe for 3 months and having BJM as the soundtrack, while I hiked through mountains, sat beside a river/lake, ambled along cobblestoned streets, and wrote in my journal - with a flask of Jagermeister on my hip. Seems like a lifetime ago.
This song is very fittingly apocalyptic. Like a chaos that unleashed throughout a long period of time and it's coming to its end. The end of the song makes me think of paradise restored. It's like a feverish dream and the you wake up early in the morning sweating and confused but feeling at the same time relieved becuase you are back to your reality and everything is good again. I love it!
- Like the end of a long weird and chaotic night and the coming of a new dawn. - "Love your comment" (Just heard the rooster at the end of the song, for the first time ever and at the same time I finished reading your comment :) Perfect timing...
Anton gets it. As we approach the end of the Kali Yuga, the chaos intensifies - but so does the lightness and joy, for those of us who will co-create in this new world feel it in every atom of our being. Thank you Anton for all this timeless music you keep on giving.
I just can't get enough Anton... BJM is one of the only bands that I can put on, go to sleep with a smile on my face.. sleep with swirls in my head, and wake up with a vibe like no other. So inspiring, never stop.. please never stop..
Gracias Anton, your music was a great companionship driving my bike from Vietnam to my home for a couple of years in Cambodia. Much appreciated, keep on showing the illusion, and spreading light and truth using both.
Just discovered this awesome track and Im in love, just wow. If I could describe the feeling of this music it would be transporting into another dimension or time, the tireless traveler going on a fantastic but ever unwinding journey 🍄😍🙉🐪
Love this and Grace Slick's Garden Of Man with that Eastern feel as well. Please release some more of your eastern vibe psychedelic stuff. There just isn't enough of it around.
One year passing, here I am listening to this song again, while working on the computer, not high , just normal right side awareness. Sounds fucking great!
You turn Panic in Babylon into Picnic in Babylon. Very spirit raising rythym and melodies. You inspire me to play Shenai again....even though I've never played one. You are on a roll. And I thank you very much. Derf
damn it.. anton you're indeed among the best musicians living, just hope it won't inflate your ego even more haha really wish you come to moscow some day
the picture that goes with this makes me so happy - this song makes me so happy! anton newcombe you make me so happppyyy! and not so numb when i'm sad so thank you! :D peace and big love!
The Private Psychedelic Reel off Dig Your Own Hole maybe? Both have that eastern looping vibe. Reminds me too of some Suns of Aqua or Transglobal Underground. Great fun.. Aufheben is great. Difficult to have a favourite BJM album but I think its up there with the best of them. Cant wait til the next one!
You know what, I'm really envious of people who has easy access to psychedelics. Living in a part of world where these substances are highly unaccessable and has serious consequences, I think it is a sin that some of us are robbed of our chance of illumination and discovering what the essence of this life is via psychedelics. I tried some of them though, to my luck. I just had the chance to see from a small opening of a big door which opens to an enormous world of peace and awakening of the soul. I love your music Anton, it kind of provides me the effects of these substances. You are truly a remarkble man and I feel that you are wishing for the best for people like me.
what country? the LSD where i live (new zealand) is always shitty. more speedy than trippy, but the Mushrooms...now lordy lordy lordy miss clawdy! they grow amazingly in my town here, and ive had some serious trips on those bad boys!
love your blend of trance/shoegazer rock with ethnic world music, specifically that of the east. I've always had a kindred affection with Indian instruments to the point where certain sitar notes resonate like deja vu of a former life. thanks.
Came here because of Greg Gutfeld and Kat Timpf, go figure. Very happy I did. Haven't felt this excited to listen to a group im what seems like an eternity. Amazing music.
Incidentally, I recently had a conversation with the same student about my trips to Reykjavik and Akureyri. Maybe I'm actually teaching this kid something, even if it isn't American Lit. and Comp.
I have actually only started listening to Anton’s band in the last few months and god I love The Brian Jonestown Massacre. I’ve never heard anything I haven’t liked yet.
I remember watching the making of this song (pretty much the entire record actually) on Dead TV Live, but I don't remember where Anton got the opening wind instrument sound. Anyone know or remember owt? Or better yet, recommend me some choons x Love & other crimes x
Straight up and down was the theme to Boardwalk Empire, and a few other songs appeared in other tv and film soundtracks. Slowly, BJM will burrow into the public subconscious. They're a true inspiration, such talent and originality, especially from Anton himself. The way I see it, BJM are not meant to be compared to pop culture music, but rather to rock and roll legend and myth. Though they will always have die hard fans.
AWESOME! Such a hypnotic, trippy and mesmerising song! See the panorama of India and Himalayas enfolding before me in my mind's eye as I listen to this.
If this IS Anton, then I'm grateful you've found expression through music, cause if you hadn't, then you would've definitely become an axe murderer...a terrifying one at that. Thank you for the way its turned out.
I cannot stop listening to this over and over, driving thru the windy mountain rds today w it full blast doing belly dancer style moves in my seat :D love it love love it!!! anyone got a ticket to the melbourne show? its sold out and this gal cannot miss out!! thanx in adv ;) (ps twatter name phoebios)

the beginning is so powerful, that could well be the sound of the universe waking up.. gonna listen to this and Satanic Majesty on loop in India next summer if I get the chance to really go there
You will not achieve spiritual enlightenment in India any more so than you can where you are right now. But there might be some good drugs n parties in Goa.
And so they beauty was heard, the women danced to celebrate the beauty of the world while the men battled each other to make peace but the peace was disturbed by them!

Quite possibly the most unexpected song I've ever fallen head-over-heels in love with.

I watched a video from 2011/12 of you and a dude creating this song. It was fascinating watching you two work. Great track, Anton
@crappingtaco maybe what you saw was my laptop sitting next to the monitor desk while the speakers were on,sometimes i don't worry about the bleed.

Trips are awesome, I had many, then after a "bad trip" never again, each make their own path, but after the bad one, I can't recommend it.
Grow some cacti and to have your own mescaline. The San pedro cactus and many others are legal in almost every country.
what country? the LSD where i live (new zealand) is always shitty. more speedy than trippy, but the Mushrooms...now lordy lordy lordy miss clawdy! they grow amazingly in my town here, and ive had some serious trips on those bad boys!
my 4 year old son begin to cry when this song (10/100) was over. At first I was not sure, but when I play it again, he calmed. :)))))

This song is so possitive. I really enjoy the things you do now. Iluminomi is my favourite song of last year.
Love this so much, float away with the Spirits to each tune ~
Incidentally, I recently had a conversation with the same student about my trips to Reykjavik and Akureyri. Maybe I'm actually teaching this kid something, even if it isn't American Lit. and Comp.
@jemen1709 agree, but there is an undertone that is a little scary to me as well.
Thanks for all the beautiful music, Anton! Keep it coming, brother!

I think sumerians building the Babel Tower listened to this being played from the UFOs that were watching over the works.
