The suggestion about starting with a base price then adding the per inch price on top is a great solution to the problem of how to price small pieces. I work a lot in watercolor and, so far, my pieces are rather small.

Can you give an example of pricing with the square inch method. Also for someone who dabbled in art for years while doing another career but is now moving to do more art but sold a few pieces privately, where do you recommend placing myself?

This is very useful and insightful info, thanks Crystal! 🙌🏻Are there any particular well-known or juried art shows in Canada that you would recommend? It might be a nice goal for newer artists to aim for, to put it on our "artist bucket list" to eventually get accepted at a particular show😁
Hi Sharon ! Federation Gallery (juried membership though Canadian Federation of artists ) have many throughout the year for various levels, mediums and subjects! I would aim for that :)

Does this apply also to multimedia works and other works that don’t only include paint?
I imagine these are pretty good guidelines but you may want to consult a leader in that industry first :)
