The easiest way to destroy a base is to bombard it from a distance with the GrG "bazooka" (with about 60 rounds) and then destroy the remaining machine gun positions with the PvG 90. Then move in and destroy the four energy pylons- while dealing with any machines which come out to attack. Done properly, few- if any- enemy machines will be coming out. Why not? because the bombardment should destroy the posts which produce the machines.
Why thank you! Excellent!! I stopped playing completely several months ago because the game gives no hint on how to do this part. Nor does it give you any clues that you can actually affect, let alone destroy structures.
Here's what I learned when doing base assaults:
1) It burns up a ton of ammo that you won't replenish from the assault
2) Doing an assault causes an incredible amount of lag
3) I did 4 assaults, on 2 of them, there was a bug and I was unable to open the pylons that you MUST destroy, so all the time and resources were wasted
Get yourself 20-30 gas canisters, use them to destroy wall and spawn points. Machine guns easiest to destroy from the distance or from behind, shooting their red canisters.
Also had same bags.
This. I just destroyed one and got next to nothing for my troubles. Waste of time. No wonder this game is so cheap.

Imho the best tactic to flaten most bases is to tear down the walls with a rpg and exp artillery gun from afar before you are
close enough to trigger the attack base mission. That way you got rid of all base defenses and most initial defenders.
Than go in with a machine gun and switch all shield generators open. Be quick about it. Depending on the level of the base
you have barely time for reloading if you go in solo. Then run away and destroy the shield generators with 0,50 cal.
You have to scout the area around the base before looking for a spot where you can oversee the base but the machines hardly
can reach you. In the vicinity of some bases there is a barn or a big rock you can climb but the machines cant.
Anyway, FNIXX bases up north are also attacked by the soviet machines. You can lure a firebird to a base you plan to
attack for example. If the firebird sees FNXX instead of you it will attack them.
That said,level four bases are not easy to destroy. Especially those who are in a plain field.
You actually CAN open enemy door during assault, but its prob. tied to your skill choice. I leveled tech tree including ability to hack machines and when i approach door i see interact option on 1 side of door to hack it. (No minigame or anyth. door just instantly opens as normal)
I can confirm, I respeced my skills, no longer having the hacking perk, and no longer can open the doors. This was a recent discovery for me. I respeced about a week ago. Only yesterday did I i connect the dots to why I no longer can open them.
Omg this is so painful, I just wanna know the key step to disabling the base, the field. This is info overload it killed the buzz completely.

Do I need dlc to finish these? I did two but one the command center is missing so I can't end it and the other doesn't have a generator but has a shield so I can't destroy it lol
Solo player. Just use the rocket launcher and spam flares. Easy, works every time. Zero deaths.
Around 50 rockets and 30 odd flares used per base.
this is quite a bit easier these days, we have the companion and now weapon augments.. I have the life steal augment on the soviet lmg and with a 210 mag on it I can facetank everything, I also put the structure dmg augment on the soviet rpg, the first tier of it does a whopping 40% more dmg to any structure, i cluding the command center 😂 lvl4 bases still get to be hectic as all hell because my patience always runs out and I storm the base before levelling it with the rpg 😂 also the rpg with the structure dmg augment kinda bypasses some of those shield up/down phases because it does so much bloody dmg to it.. like yesterday I destroyed the command center with just 3 rockets.. no need to dance around it for eternity only doing tick dmg before it raisesthe shield again..
I have a level four base that I'm trying to take down but I'm having trouble with it
Max level base assaults are near impossible to do on console(series x). When I'm on the last part(the pylon thingy), so many enemies spawn and there's so much happening that my game just crashes. This happened twice and when you load back the base resets to how it was before the assault. I wish it was like the Reaper and kept the damage or at least kept the shield generators that you already destroyed disabled if you do happen to crash. All that ammo, rockets, Meds, time and effort wasted😂 I've had no crashes with level 1 and 2 bases.
For that, at least for me, i put it down a lot of features os grafic/esthetic/video to a medium level. Maybe that can help u with the lagg
I've had the same problem with base spawns,,, however,,, I've notice something strange when joining 2 multiplayer games on ps4 and exit back to main menu and start single player another base to spawn both times,,, a glitch fixing a glitch I guess
PS4 and Xbox one have not the hotfix for base RAID/maschines spawn.only PC. Consoles come later. I have the same Problem. I have a Xbox one.😭😭

I hope they fix the bug when you make 2 bases then your game crashes and wipes all your bases, rivals and command tokens

From a video-games design perspective this is such a poor idea to add, you don’t get any indication of where they are and cant find out because if you try you get bombarded by so much metal that you cant even stand up. This is play-through ending.

Honestly, I 'liked' the video, but don't have time to watch it for a while. Can someone just answer - as a newish solo player does base building effect me? I mean, should I bother as a solo player - I am still in the Archipelago area right now. I don't even understand what this is...
I can't destroy them for some reason
32 minutes of just talking.. STILL have no clue how to get rid of the stupid "Disabled, you need to generate threat level" crap.. all I hear is just grind grind grind.. but I have been grinding for 3 hours strait, destroying everything I can see.. and I still apparently havent pissed off anyone enough to have them attack my base.. this was a pointless video..
Maybe you have it bugged or you are killing small robots that doesn't give that much threat points or if you are dying too much that can be the problem too

@@shawnleider yes and we took the advice of a couple of other videos that were similarly pointless, so we uninstalled the game and we don't play it anymore.. I bought it super cheap so it wasn't a huge loss
@@LegendaryDiamond28 sorry I didn't see this 3 months ago, but my brother and I were destroying everything dot-dot big robot, little robots, anything that we could destroy got. We gave it two more days of three to four hours of game playing with grinding and then gave up when we still didn't get the result we wanted
