My son is 13 and this was his first full season Bass fishing, a couple days ago he caught his new PB of 4.8 lbs on a junebug fluke! It was an amazing moment. We usually watch your latest video before we head out. Thanks for all the tips, they definitely help!
My biggest fish usually are caught using a whacky worm. In deep water 20-25 feet I use a black finesse with chartreuse tail tip with darter head weight. Pad fishing is definitely a hollow body frog
More great help! The largest I've caught this year is a 4 1/2 pound largemouth. Caught it on a drop shot! Thank you for helping me become a better angler!
Great insight. Thanks! I’ve found that even fishing community holes from the bank that gets ton of pressure you can find/catch fish and bigger fish by throwing where no one else is throwing because they are “lazy” or don’t want to lose there lure. Throw in that lay down, instead of beside it. Throw in that brush not around it. Also, go when the usuals, wouldn’t. Not just when they aren’t there, but when they woulda’t be there. Like in the rain or at night. Caught a few giants, relatively speaking 4-6lbs, last fall at night, on top, in places you’d laugh at during the daytime or is usually pickeralville. The BIGS cruise the shoreline at night picking off the baifish. Especially, in the fall. I’ve done best throwing as close to the shore as can. And you can do this on the really accessible over pressured spots that are easily accessible in the dark. Just my 2¢.
Those better fish are definitely different. Like you said, they are less willing to run all over like small fish. It amazes me sometimes how much energy those little guys burn up. They will just chase all day long.
It really reminds me of a puppy versus an old dog. The pup just wants to play and bark all day while the old dog just wants to lay around in the shade. I guess age tempers pretty much everything.
My PB was actually caught in February of this year on a dropshot with a 4 inch yum dinger. Just over 6 lbs. At least that's what my analog scale said. I think she was closer to 7.😊
@@LowBrowFishing I'm up in Ohio fishing a Lake Erie tributary river. We don't have the monster bass like they do down south. I can't even imagine a bass that big ha. Usually the bass in my river average 1 to 2 lbs. I heard of someone catching a 4lb bass but I havent yet.
I would get caught thinking the same thing, that all types of different bass were grouped up together. But that hardly ever happens, especially in summer.
I found this out by mistake a few years ago. But I was just happy to be landing 🛬 🐟 fish. However, now I'm on the hunt for my personal best. At the moment it's not great.
What's your PB? Have you been able to catch any big fish this year?

I never much worry about catching big fish off my dock. Just wanna relax and have fun. Not gonna turn down a big fish though.
Having fun is the most important part!

A wacky rig certainly can catch big fish!

I'd be happy to catch any fish at all right now. If I catch a fish then I feel like I was successful.
I agree. Better a dink than a skunk!

no bigs i’m just scraping by this summer lol
Some days can be pretty rough!
When I start catching a bunch of little bass I just hope one of them is a big one. It never is though.

Keep working at it! Eventually everything will pay off!
