Thanx Ants, maybe you should try to restore it in stages. Start with the brakes... then the hoses and fittings, change the tyre around, try to get the gear linkages sorted, trace the hydraulic routes and colour code with tape on each line and functional purpose, make the cab safer and fabricate a good solution, replace the rusted frame, get your wiring sorted and ensure good earth (ground) connection. It will make for great UA-cam content and your channel will grow steadily. You are much better than Andrew Camarata and Diesel Creek, both those guys don't help anyone. People just watch them building their own dreams whilst they get richer. You, on the other hand are there for your family and are securing your property and maintaining everything. Your work ethic is fantastic and you deserve the best. I am with you all the way brother. From Durban, South Africa...

As being part of the party that filmed the first voyage. I will say all the issues are related all of us 3 not knowing how the gear shifting on this machine works. We did discover the reason why it was parked and it has to do with some very sketchy maintenance being done in the past. However it's all fixable and the guys and gals being worried that this will be just yard art. Heck no, this thing has still potential but needs just lot of work being done. Good video over all and I will be there the next time you decide to take the K-700A for a spin.

Hi Andris, that rotary filter, I suspect that is a centrifugal oil separator, the oil must be admitted at the bottom to make it spin and as it does so any foreign material spins out and I would have thought would fall to the bottom to be drained off via a scavenger plug or the like. I think, as you have already pointed out,it probably has never been cleaned since day one. That was an awesome score. I was as baffled as you at first as it was so full of crude, it might be old technology but it looks like it does its job really well. We always had a centrifuge in line on out Gas Turbine lube oil system for the same reason but we used to clean them once a week. When it was running I would have expected your oil pressure to have dropped off once the oil warmed a bit plus it doesn’t have all those obstructions in the system now. Well done mate, you looked like you were shitting yourself when you were reversing. Mate that was an awesome outcome, some brakes have to be the next thing for sure.

@@Ants_Pants Check if there is vibration in this centrifugal oil filter. Your resin patch can cause extra loads and the housing will break even more (due to high rotation speeds). It is easier to replace it with a regular flow oil filter with a paper cartridge of the required capacity.

  • @HUBBABUBBADOOPYDOOP

    I must be honest.
That centrifugal filter housing is sand cast aluminum.
Very easy to repair *_properly,_* and you do have all the necessary tools!
Wire brush all big stuff off.
HOT ultrasonic with conventional ATF for at least 2 hrs. That will flush out contaminants.
Soak in brake cleaner to flush out ATF.
At each end of each crack, drill a small 3-5 mil hole. This "ties off" the crack.
Dremel, bevel out each crack 1 mil deep.
TIG weld it or braze. I would *NEVER* trust JB Weld or any "epoxy" for a HOT pressurized
    vibrating oil filter housing.

Andris, holy cow what a job you have ahead of you, wow we could not believe how dirty them filters were no wonder it did not run. They all looked as though they have never been changed ever. That’s a good indication that the rest of the tractor is in the same shape and the whole thing will need to be gone through and All the lines are going to be interesting to replace. I think I would have freaked out when I found I had no brakes. But what a great episode we enjoyed every moment of it. At the end your expression on your face was priceless. It’s no longer a lawn ornament. Have a great weekend. 😊

Congratulation to your running engine. It makes me happy to see which progress you make. The play at the steering piston on the right side was very high. 5 mm or more. The left side will be the same. If you have time, open the turbo to check the play of the wheel. Great job!

With the engine running remove the expansion tank cap. If the head gasket is blown and pushing compression from the cylinders into the cooling system you will see lots of bubbles coming from the expansion tank while running.
