Kanade then brought her to her home so she can rest and Kanade can watch over her.
KanaMafu (Kanade is the saviour) MizuEna (At first it may seem like Mizuki is the one who saves her but actually Ena looks like she will save Mizuki from whatever dread they are in.)
I think that it honestly goes deeper, with Mizuki slowly becoming more like the Mafuyu of the past and their past self as well, and Secret Distance plus My Footsteps, Your Destination show that amazingly well. There's parallels with how Mafuyu and Mizuki are similar, with some of their lines being the same and said in the same manner and, at times, Mizuki's voice is similar to Mafuyu's in tone, with Mizuki being able to empathize with Mafuyu and understand how she feels, and Mafuyu calls them out on this, saying that they "selfishly empathize with (her)", creating a big parallel with how they are. Even their trained initial cards have that effect, with Mafuyu's being straightforward while Mizuki's reflection has their eyes have the lack of light Mafuyu has. Their parallels grow more as the story progresses, with Kanade and Ena having parallels as artists that feel as if their work isn't enough and being the one to save the one closest to them, Mafuyu and Mizuki, in a sense.
