I think I realize why the Tarkatans are now mutants created from a disease instead of a full-blooded race. Liu Kang had Quan Chi reborn as a miner instead of a demon sorcerer, probably leading to little contact between the Netherrealm and Outworld. At least in one timeline, Tarkatans were said to came to be from demons having relations with Outworlders, but because of the change of the relationship between the Netherrealm and Outworld, the race never came to be. However, nature apparently found a way.

Personally I think it should just be 121 and 12 system, leave less important funny dialogue in, while also giving them the chance to leave in some surprise characters responses.

But holy shit, Geras threw his boy Liu Kang under the bus with Baraka. Talk about half-truths. He could have just said "Yeah, it wasn't a disease, that was just your default setting," instead of fueling Baraka's anger towards Liu Kang for the disease existing.
Maybe mention that they were a genetically engineered slave race to Shao Kahn. The way Geras puts it here, I don't blame Baraka for calling out Liu Kang for it.
