Hijab was not that a big thing in India but they wear burka and naqab during exam when stopped they said its against Hijab , clever move and the even the protest and all that movement almost 95% of them were in Burqa while crying for Hijab , Hypocrisy at its best . And Hijab was restricted on educational institutions not on public domain that too in some states. Many things are restricted in educational institutions not dyeing hair , nail polish, stylish beard etc .
The hypocrisy is Hindutva fascists no different than Iranian Government but even worse enforce their views on minorities. A woman died in Iran because she was Kurdish and did not where Hijab. But in India the entire Government and Courts released gang rapists of Bilkis Bano in the name of Hindutva Nationalism. It is even more disgusting is they honored them with garlands. And don't lie the Government restricts hijabs also and Muslim girls are heckled by mobs of fanatic backward Hindu men.
I traveled to Iran 22 years ago, and even then the students hoped that the regime would not last and that there would finally be a change for the better.
It has not been successful yet, but I believe that the next generation that has already started will finally feel the change.
