I had pain and discomfort in my right shoulder and I had cortisone shots etc and it only improved temporarily. I was adjusted once and was fixed. It never came back. I think the trouble is when you hear that it can fix everything, or that you need to come back for 12 weeks etc. chiropractic has a place, just like traditional medicine. Just remember that they want you to come back because they want more money. Some things require more consistent care, and some don’t.

@@dylanfogle2068 From what I've seen, that first technique where they pull on the neck is only for specific cases of spinal problems and generally requires a doctor's note saying that it might be something that can help the problem. So if you just went straight to one without a note and they did it anyways, you might not have even had a problem that technique would help with.

she had that SI joint locked up. I know her pain all too well. You get that unlocked and aligned you instantly stand upright and depending on how bad and how much inflammation was creating in the grinding of the joints, your paint can go away 💯 or reduce by 75,80% immediately. Most important thing she’s got to work on that muscle therapy. Keeping those muscles stretched loose. Biggest mistake people make is ignoring follow up muscle treatment. It’s the muscles that pull our joints out of alignment. and since they have been in a shortened reprogram state from the misalignment or injury, they quickly revert back to what they know and that is the muscle memory that’s been reprogrammed in the motor neuron. That needs to be changed and it takes time frequency and patience to reprogram that neuron.

Great comment and very true. It's the unfortunate part of chiropractic that really needs more regulation.
Chiropractic is great for immediate or short term relief and that's the ideal time you should take advantage, do PT, muscle work, etc. Much like massage therapy, chiropractic is great for temporary pain relief and in support of your other long term, lasting solutions. When the client thinks--or worse, is told--that the Chiro work cures or resolves pain by itself, then they're right back at square one.

She was not at a 10 on pain. She was able to walk and talk, and showed no other signs of extreme pain. If you aren't screaming and crying, it isn't a 10. If a patient ever tells me anything above an 8 without showing certain signs, and especially if they say anything higher than 10, then they are exaggerating the severity. They can still be in pain, but it isn't at the degree that they say.

I know the “experts” say chiropractic adjustments are just the releasing of gas between joints, but I used to have a bad knee and foot. Like instead of pointing forward my foot pointed to the side. Saw several specialists and they all said I had to have knee replacement surgery. Only option. Actually cautioned me against getting any chiropractic care. A friend convinced me to give it a try and while it took many adjustments, including daily for about 6 weeks, it did eventually completely fix my knee and foot. Not to mention my chiropractor told me which leg exercises I needed to be doing to strengthen my leg to help hold the bones in the right place for my joints. I go back for an adjustment maybe once or twice a year. Never had that knee replacement surgery they were pushing on me in my 20s. Almost 40 now.

I had surgery around 4 months ago and was also put under anaesthesia, I was also quite nervous but it’s actually pretty awesome
Honestly, all it is, is that when you’re laying down, they’ll put a mask on you and tell you to breath in and out like you usually would, you start feeling light headed (like if you were to spin around in circles) and then you konk out. The dizziness feeling lasted for about 4 seconds for me and I went straight to sleep lol
When I woke up, I was super tired and cranky, like I slept for 48 hours, but it felt nice in a way? It was odd. I’d happily go through it again if I needed to, it’s one of those experiences you’ve never had before
But yeah, I honestly wouldn’t worry, you’ll enjoy the experience!

After a big adjustment like that, for anybody, they will need specialized exercises to strengthen the muscles that weren’t being used because of the impingement or whatever was causing the pain. I was in a bad car wreck over 10 years ago. I’ll never forget being 22 and I couldn’t get out of bed the next day. I was in so much pain it felt like someone poured gas on my back and lit it on fire.
The best thing I did was 1 go to a chiropractor. The chiropractor popping me and forcing my body to move started the healing process. The second best thing I did was getting physical therapy.
I went to the hospital the day after my accident and they took x rays and told me that I will never be the same again and I would need back surgery. Because I went to the chiropractor and did physical therapy I never needed the surgery.
Everyone has a different situation, but for me, I couldn’t do the physical therapy until I went to the chiropractor. Not only does the popping help, but for me it was the forcing of the body to move and the muscles, tendons, etc stretching out. I still have whiplash, but it is very mild now.
