I look forward to the book portion of your channel so much. Wave is such an immersive read. Hard for the reader, but she was able to bring you with her during her journey. You have rekindled my love of an array of reading.

Thank you for being so candid about your ADD. It’s like you were talking about me. 😊

When I rate a book it means how much I personally liked it, not making a judgment as to whether or not it is a quality book. Love the book podcasts!

I stumbled across Claire Keegan last year and Foster took my breath away. I've just ordered her newest one! Hers are books worth owning imo because I'd re-read them and recommend them.
I like the mix of books you read, btw! Newer/older, fiction/non-fiction, etc. and I agree about ratings being so subjective and non-descriptive.

I LOVED the book Take My Hand so much. It brought back memories of being a special education instructional assistant in the early 2000 and back to growing up in Portland, Oregon in the 60’s. Watching in your face racism in the 60’s and then not so in your face in the 2000’s but it is still there. Not just racism but classism. It still tears my heart out the these young girls had the gift of reproducing taken away from them because they were deemed unfit.
I will have to look for The Woman in the Window, sounds intriguing! Thank you, Nikol.

Hi, I am reading The wave right now and that is not an easy read when you have kids yourself. I am really looking forward to hear your comment on it. I am also looking forward to read James as I read the reviews on Goodreads and it looks like it has a lot of humor. I am liking that you are challenging me to explore other genres than my usual. Thank you for the inspiration.

Thank you for being here! I haven’t started Wave yet, but I’m preparing myself emotionally.🫠

Just simply cherish these discussions around books! I fully agree with you about the five-star rating system and truth to be told, I feel that I am done with the whole concept of constantly rating, seeing it everywhere or being asked to give one even for the most insignificant thing … I value so much more what someone has to say, listening to what they share… Putting labels on stuff, categorising on a large scale does tend to make me feel like running away in the opposite direction! Maybe an age thing … or the coming of wisdom…. 😉
