Saw the title and thought...'Cool! A transatlantic flight to Naples, Italy!' Oops 🙈🙈🙈
So did I.
Same
Same
Thomas Hardie i saw the title and got scared because a solo transatlantic flight probably isn’t v safe
My reaction also. What the hell is he doing?
Flying solo transatlantic? Hey he doesn't have that range. What?
Granddaughter is in the flight program at her university. I referred her to your videos to learn what it's really like to perform well in a busy ATC environment. Great video as always. Thanks for making them and helping the younger pilots...
The ATC system seems to be getting in your way. Its the low-technology part of flying, along with radio beacon way-points. Time it was pensioned off
Are you talking about the Air Training Corps or Air Traffic Control??
19brandon66 Are you talking about the Air Training Corps or Air Traffic Control??
@@marcs990 Air traffic Control. They just don't keep up, send planes out of their way, as in this video, (just watch the path of aircraft on one of the online tracking services, they can go hundreds of miles out of their way) and talk gobbligook far too fast to be intelligible, mainly because they are juggling too many tasks and like us to know how busy they are. All the information they give could be shown on a simple display in the cockpit, its only wind speed, direction, surface pressure and runway in use. There is so much space above ground but ATC want to keep an enormous separation between aircraft so that for the most part pilots never see each other. If they do, its often such a shock that they can panic and (as in an accident report I read yesterday) over-react, stall and end up in bits. Its time we moved over to an automated system. I remember a time when there was a policeman at busy road junctions waving the traffic out. We moved on from that but the ATC are still with us metaphorically waving their white gloves at us.
@@bmpowellicio Yes, but given the traffic and the insurance if something gets hacked or whatever. Whew!!! I remember in the 80's when they went to the glass cockpits and AIRLINES insisted that the engineer's panel be put in the first ones because they did not trust it. However, it will be interesting where we will be in 2030.
I thought he was going to Naples in Italy. Interested to see that. Possible? Need a bigger tank I expect.
Robert Powell really nice city Naples. Flew many times there. I thought the same like you did before I flew to Naples.
Hi @@Pelesys_a320 . Been to Rome, Florence Pisa, Siena Venice & Lake Garda, but never Naples.. Maybe one day!
Robert Powell you’ll love it trust me!
@@robertpowell7672 Just don't go there if and when it rains.
Where do they keep the fuel on those tiny jets? Surely not in the wings like larger aircraft, they're so thin... 🤔
Was sitting in a parking lot yesterday at KDAL and was monitoring tower. A call caught my attention. "Zero Golf Mike, 13R, line up and wait." And then a familiar voice followed. I was at the end of 13R and managed to get a picture as you came overhead. Very cool moment for me!
Hahaha Thanks for the Shout-out Greg!!! Watching your videos while I study for my Instrument Checkride as we speak! Was a huge pleasure meeting and talking with you! And thanks for being as cool in person as you are in your videos!
Happy Flying!
David.
Best of luck to you David! Hope to see you again soon!
I really appreciate the effort you put into having a stereo ambient track on ground underneath the mono comms. It really adds to the viewing experience.
Thank you Premier1 for a great flight. I love these Florida routes. Fly safe and thanks for sharing.. Awesome!
@Hello Robert how are you doing?
Busy airspace! That controller for the middle of your flight had his hands full.
There is something so peaceful and satisfying about flying around solo. I love doing it in the PC12.
I watch all your videos man. They help me keep my goals of owning my own high-performance plane and flying it weekly in my business.
Weather+Jet+Short flight = Very busy cockpit. Multi tasking at it’s Finest. You definitely have the need for speed in those outboards. They looked like those Seven Marine 627’s. Great video and enjoy your Veteran’s day weekend. You earned it! (Bill from Slidell).
Love listening to chatter between the pilots and ATC. Thanks for letting us listen in👍🛩
Might have been a short, low, jet-inefficient flight, but it was pretty good for pilot proficiency. Nice job, as always. Thanks for the ride!
Premier 1 Rider is glad she missed this bumpy ride!! Always enjoy flying along Greg. Enjoy your Veteran's Day.
Great video, Greg.
I love your "always calm, easy going" demeanor. Really greased that landing, too! You can tell how the weather affects everyone - the enroute controller hardly got a moment to catch his breath. Then you switch to approach ... poof ... it's quiet. Thanks for the video and have a great one.
Greg.
He is a former fighter pilot , makes it look easy.
@@irandoosty Yeah,. . .being an ex-Mil Fighter Jockey he had to have a certain mindset, and be able to think very quickly. .. goes with the territory I guess.
Piloting a jet would be something really cool to do but too many factors will keep me in the back but still enjoying the ride. I thank you for allowing me to ride with you and I love the view. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video, Busy ATC , Super landing!
@Hello Dan how are you doing?
“Watch out... I’m hand flying!” Got us laughing this morning.
😂😂😂
Put in the side to see Steven we know awesome pirate
Bumper sticker on the Premier. "MY OTHER PLANE IS A BOAT" lol!
I nice to see a pilot who’s unsure to ask again to verify. So many won’t because of whatever the reason, especially in congested airspace you better be sure.
That's called Professionalism.
Always a fun trip from the MIA area to Southwest Florida area and fast as you mentioned especially in summer! Strange route RSW back to APF they issued. Nice to see Tin City off to the left at the 34:07 time hack. Excellent explanation of LVL change. Your videos are some of if not the best on UA-cam.
Thanks for the heads up on Bimini Bait Shack, will be back down home next month going to Captiva and never knew of the Shack, but will sure stop in now. And how about more boat rides! :)
Great intro Greg & great cam angles on departure. That was a busy 27 minutes with the weather. Landing was butter. Great little boat tour. 👍👍👍👍
Yea! ProLine-21!!
I was project engineer on the NAV radios for about 15 years. Really enjoyed maintaining those radios.
My cat was watching this with me and jumped up in front of the TV and started chasing the clouds lol. Beautiful flight.
I still like to hear the engine starts. Thank you for including the ATC communications.
That audio is great!
Another Awesome video as usual. Quite a bumpy ride too! Can't wait to get a grand tour of the new interior! Looks amazing! Glad you kept the Bee!!!
Thanks for the boat ride, that was nice.
Yeah it's nice to dream about warm weather right now! Hello from West Bend!
Greg, those little zigs and zags are not even noticed on our radar.
Another nice one sir, love the cloud shots, they never get old.
Thank you for your service to our nation, and taking us all along. God bless, fly safe, looking forward to next time.
Thank you!
@@gregmink I was a flight medic for fixed wing (twin engines & jets) and helicopter for about 15 years. My eye's were not good enough for becoming a pilot. I love to fly though, so your taking us along is very enjoyable, and I get to live a little vicariously thru you. Thanks again.
Nice touch at the end to see some of the local attractions. Thanks Greg!
I think your controller knew exactly what you were doing....those people are amazing.....
Another amazing and instructive video. Always looking for the next one. Best wishes from a UK puddle jumper pilot(PA28).
Wow, Steveo1 would be hard pressed to match that landing.. Lol. I love the multi screen angles on your final. Great editing and great flight. Thanks for the ride along.
Intro cinematography looking super professional and nice music. Good morning.
As an air trafficker for over 30 years in Australia thank goodness I only rarely had to deal with weather like that especially in the approach sphere. As far as the jink is concerned not too dramatic as long as the 3 mile lateral separation is not infringed too much, down to 1 nm from edge of radar return. Thoroughly enjoy your videos, keep them coming.
Flew right over my house at around 33:40. I always love watching the jets come in . Next time, tell me you're coming and I'll wave from the pool deck.
Welcome to Florida Summer flying. Lots of zig and zagging! 😉
Very cool flight watching how busy you can be with the compression of workload wth traffic, atc com and weather in a short distance. Great job.
Nice to watch a summer flight and a summer cruise on the water while I am here in chilly Eagle Idaho 😃 but I had a great day of rc flying.
Waiting to see your plane makeover. Safe travels.
I’m scared of flying, I can’t imagine this little jet. But I loved this , watched it on big screen. I’d trust you for a ride. Killer job
NonyaBusiness! Killer Job as in he did a nice job flying the plane. Not that he gives rides . I know no background, just enjoyed video.
Safe flight everytime! And guidance along your way
How cool!! Flew right over my marina!, Bet I watched you come overhead! ❤️
Great flight. Would love to see an altimeter added to the video HUD. Awesome aircraft.
What amounts to nothing more than a neighborhood hop to you, would be a dream come true for me! Great video Greg, thank you so much.
Oh that landing was sweet apple pie with a cherry on top!
Most Center controllers would not see the deviation on their radar (6-12 second update). If they did, It would be perceived as a small target jump. An Approach facility using "All track tracker" would see it with their one-second update. If you had filed for 4,000 ft. final you could have gone direct to KAPF off South Florida. Anything above that puts you head-on (at altitude) with arrivals into KFLL/KMIA.
Excellent photography, felt I was right there with you...
Yeah, that 4-way split view is very cool.
Enjoyed the beautiful cloud formations. That's easy to say when I'm just viewing on my desktop. I was going to speculation that Premier 1 Rider wouldn't appreciate the view, but, dang, you beat me to it. Keep up the great videas.
How can such a short flight be so soothing to watch. I just turned 50 and wondered, could i fulfill this life long dream of being a pilot?
Absolutely! Go for it!
@@gregmink Man do you ever inspire me. i love your videos. I'd gladly PAY to take a flight with you and just watch and listen.
Twice the fuel burn, crazy ATC traffic, just sent the jet to the spa and don't want to get her dirty, but one helluva landing arriving in style. Time for a dirty martini 🍸
Really enjoy your UA-cam videos. Hope you will continue to make them for us...
I came across this channel and wanted to say thanks for the great videos. I am not a pilot but do enjoy flying. I have learned quite a lot watching and listening. Thanks again for the high quality videos and scenery. I surely miss Florida!
Thanks Greg, another terrific flight.
Good video Greg thanks for sharing and sharing a little bit of your life
Awesome cloud footage took screenshots at 20 +.. Hope you don't mind me make a some cool wallpaper.
Some of a beach...that was a lot of weather to navigate. Nice greaser!
This is true on the previous video you are showing more browsing screens, but I had been thinking about a permanent popup window in one corner of your video, as you do with the speed from time to time. In all it's always great to see your videos
Brother that has got to be GLORIOUS. Alone in the jet?! Semper Fi Esposito.
Awesome Smooth Landing, and those Cloud Formations were cool 😎✈️
Glad to see you enjoying the good life down there in Naples!
Fantastic quality in all respects from the HDD of the film to the airmanship! Keep on "livin the dream" Congratulations!
I was waiting for the “ohhh that was butter” after that landing. Was absolutely butter

Watch out he is hand flying lol..
love the videos, glad I stumbled across this channel several months ago.
Learn a lot from you, Stevo,Niko, 310 pilot and Barron pilot.. Keep them coming guys..
Thanks Greg, great flight I loved the landing, thank you for sharing
You "Greased" that one Greg..... Very Nice!
I like your paint job the best, beautiful airplane. Thanks for all of your awesome videos from a retired Jax center controller.
Another great video! Welcome to my hometown of Naples/Marco Island... Thank you for your service on this Veterans day! My Grandfather flew the P-38 Lightning in WWII 82 Fighter Group in Europe.
Thank you!
Beautiful flyin through/around all those clouds, worth the extra fuel Greg? Yup. Thanks as always!
Awsome cloud formations and vibrating wings.
If Premier 1 rider was kissing the tarmac after the Telluride arrival, she would have been petrified with the off-roading today LOL
Awesome to see to see the water footage! My parents have a rental property in Marco Island so the passages looked very familiar. Flying the families Bonanza down next spring for the first time!
Whoever edits this guy's videos does an outstanding job! Hollywood is jealous!
Thanks!
Thanks Greg for another very interesting but short flight. Man those ATC folk have a very busy job keeping all of you fly guys/gals in line!
Love watching the both of you and Stevo would love to meet you both one day
Keep it up
Sweet landing, just like Steveo! Ha. That was one busy Miami controller.
That landing was Money,As always, Thank you
Great footage as always! Got a lil bumpy for a bit.
Great discussion about finding a plane for the task at hand. But what if you just want an F4 Phantom? 😁💪
The bread has been buttered! Great landing!
The incredible flexibility for business travel must be amazing. Especially as your own pilot and owner of the aircraft. So incredibly efficient. Time IS money.
Greg , THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE , Have a Good Veterans Day , Lou in Chicago
Thank you Lou!
Another great video, tks for taking us along. P1D Rider looks more relaxed on the boat than in the air, lol
Yes she's much more relaxed on the boat
Nice / Terrifying footage of the cloud dancing ( depending upon one's experience level ) there Greg.. . . Thanks for the flight. Lovely bit of video of the water around Naples too. Some Beautiful scenery around America,. . .I have only seen Airside at Honolulu (1979 ) I'll Bet it's changed ! ! !
Dayum, that was bumpy! Can't wait to see the new interior.
Took the words right outta my mouth on that Naples greaser! Nice…
I was born in FT Wayne, IN... tell your buddy what's up for me! ;) Naples is where we go once a year.. love it!
That landing was amazing. I wish I could land that good in a Piper pa28 😁😂
Lots going on for such a short flight, great video!
Another excellent video Greg !
I would love to buy an F-14 Tomcat. Not because I can fly it. I would just like for it to sit in my driveway 100% of the time. But I do know how to fix it, and run it up. I'm sure the neighbors won't mind.
Unfortunately, you can't really own an F14 due to Iran still flying them. They've all been gutted to prevent parts going to our former friend now enemy. Beautiful plane.
@@TristanLinehan So your saying there is still a chance ?
Pretty cool...like having a customizable ILS setup!
Nice landing! There's a "rattle" in the cameras that always make your landings sound 10x worse than they really are - could tell that one was a soft one. 👍👍
79° water temps!! Like a sauna compared to Northeastern ocean water, lol. Beautiful boat! Looked like twin E-Tecs on there -great engines. Looked like you had to edit the brand name off both of them ...?
Amazing cloud shots in this one! Was non-stop! Loved it! Thanks for posting, Greg. Blue skies and tailwinds! 🛫
The gray/white looks like a Air Force T39 Sabreliner. Very cool.
Another great FLOG Greg. I’m going to be flying in to MCO to go to WDW tomorrow for a week. Hoping there aren’t any big buildups while we’re down there.
Tim
Supervideo. Thanks for share all these pretty nice videos! Greetings from Switzerland to Greg!
For a moment I thought approach was going to have you turn a left base over the Dry Tortugas National Park. Greased landing for sure.
Better safe then sorry. Nice flight. Love your camera angles for sure.
Hi Greg, one of the most beautiful videos.
I felt like I was your copilot.
Multiple cameras momentum takeoff and landing. Excellent explanations about navigation.
Day is beautiful to fly ... beautiful clouds, blue sky ... spectacular my friend.
Hug, Mauro Marafante, Recife/Brazil
Thanks!
Did you see the Citationmax episode where he was talking about you with his mother. It was hilarious. The look on her face was priceless.
That was very nice of Max
@@gregmink: ...depends on what look his mother had after what Max said!
Excellent Capt!! Very smooth landing. Congrats.
Great video, Thanks for the ride, Love FLA's west coast and the water ride to Bimini
Sure makes me jealous....Love watching the channel!
