Not a Washington fan, but Taylor Heinicke just has that X Factor. He’s smart, tough, gritty, resourceful, and he doesn’t fold under pressure. He’s not the most accurate or fast throwing, but he gets it done

Taylor Heinicke has proven to me he deserves the Starting QB even when Wentz is available. He showed him how to beat his old team and is overall a Better QB and Clutch in The 4th Q when you need him. He is Tough, Gritty, and not afraid of the Moment! Go Commanders!!!... We are back to .500 I just wish our division was not doing as well but the season is still young 🏈
Agreed, I can bet you he was pissed when they signed Wentz. Skins front office always trying to get QBs when they already have one. Last year Fitzpatrick and this year Wentz. They let Cousins walk when they should of paid him when the price was lower. I guess this is what you get with a mediocre owner and front office.

Congrats to the Commanders, from a Vikes fan. I knew when Heineke took over, things would be better for you. The guy is a fighter and he doesn't quit. He may need to put up more points against us though. But it won't be an easy game for us next week. Your defense is playing well too. You are back in it, hungry , and you're at home. As a colts fan I'm happy with what Elingher did it was his first start in the NFL with the team officially being his and he did some really good things. Congrats to the commanders on the win tho.

As an old Texas fan, I'm pleased with how Ehlinger did as well. A few times he seemed a little nervous with pressure and the pocket collapsing, not making a decision on what to do as quickly as he probably should, but not really unexpected.
That dropped pass on the second to last play was quite unfortunate, and also his 3rd down run that came up inches short on their 2nd to last possession.
Yea but it's evident Matt ryan isn't necessarily the whole problem... The offensive line just isn't playing as well as expected. If Ryan has protection he's above average still. But the colts defense played well.

Not sure what they see that we dont. But what I see is a winner. But yet every year they go out and get other QBs ...like Fitzpatrick last season and then Wentz this season. There front office is fascinated with getting other teams QBs versus trying to build around with what you have. They have done this for a loooong time. They should have paid Cousins when they could have gotten him for cheap but they screwed that all up.

Washington never gives not so experienced QBs time to develop like the eagles have done with Hurtz or the giants with Daniel Jones even though he still isn’t great he’s showing improvement obviously. But they always give the past couple QBs a year to get them far into the playoffs and then drops them. If we gave Kirk another year and put weapons around him he would probably still be here as our franchise QB instead of beings the Vikings QB.

Why...we have sam. He did great except for the fumble.... everything we were looking for and its his first start.
Sam was good this game. Other than his fumble, he did really well. He avoided a few sacks with his legs. That O-line though is atrocious. Sam looke pretty composed in the pocket the second half. 73% on his completions and 203 yards and no Interceptions. Not bad for a first start.

As an ODU alumn, I know what Heinicke can do and how he plays. He never gives up and he will leave it all on the field. He will never be the best QB on the field and he will never throw the deep passes that others do, but he leads his team like few can - his intangibles are off the chart. He is a regular guy who appreciates everyone on the team and who also mingles with everyone. He is the classic blue collar kind of player and when he plays, he makes others better. This year when Carson Wentz played, Carson rarely found their best wide receiver, McLaurin. McLaurin and Heinicke have this sixth sense and they feed off each other - McLaurin knows the timing of routes like Heinicke does and when McLaurin doesn't see the pass come his way, he breaks from he route and turns to Heinicke. This happened on this play, but those two do it repeatedly. You can't teach this. You cannot coach this. Heinicke is just the kind of player who others react to and who improvises when the chips are down.
Heineke should have gotten the starting job this year Washington should have built around him he is your man
