The irony is , Mormons don't believe anything in this old hymn nor in many other well known Christian hymns which they hijacked. This one , penned by Joachim Neander (Calvinist reformer ) long before Joseph Smith invented his religion.
Speaking as a member of “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints” and not a Mormon, (there is no such thing as a Mormon because the Church of Mormon does not exist) you are incredibly misinformed, mistaken, and outright wrong.
