- With less than two weeks left to go before his highly-anticipated return to the ring, undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather is in the gym three times a day putting the finishing touches on his training as he prepapres for his September 17 clash with WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz. Although the opponent is new, the hard work and dedication remains exactly the same as it's always been throughout his 15-year career. Take a look back at some classic footage of Floyd Mayweather as he trained for some of his previous fights. In this footage, Mayweather trains for his showdown with former welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir, a fight he won via dominant 12-round unanimous decision on November 4, 2006.

In this video there barely anybody in the gym watching, it look practically abandoned no posters, equipment fans or even paparazzi anywhere fast forward some years and there's crowds of people trying to watch him train, paparazzi everywhere in his gym, hi-tech equipment everywhere it's just so cool to see how much he's evolved over the years!

When people talk about Mayweather, they try to find every excuse to make him worse because in reality he literally is the greatest boxer of all time. He will NEVER get what he deserves. De La Hoya was considered the best at the time of their fight and FM won. He TKO's Hatton, He Beat Marquez, Mosley, Cotto, Ortiz, Canelo, Guerrero, Gatti Castillo and the list goes on. He's been world champion for 17 years. UNDEFEATED. I swear if i hear someone say "he needs to fight pacquiao to be considered the best i might go crazy". Pac has lossed 5 times, 3 of which by knkockouts. And everybody was saying how canelo was the best and how he was going to beat FM. Once FM beat canelo everyone changed their minds and said "well canelo was young so it should've been easy for FM" like really? You people are insane.

Timing was impeccable. As a small guy he trained for bigger fighters by placing weights on his ankles to get use to the opponents weight leaning on him. In turn making his legs stronger.

I train with ankle weights on solely for foot speed. I also strap ankle weights onto my gloves around my wrists while hitting the bag for hand speed and keeping my hands up. If I want some added weight to replicate being leaned on I'll wear a weight vest during sparring while sparring a larger fighter. Spar and train like that 90% of the camp and when you take your vest/ankle weights off you'll be moving like lightning in the ring. It's an amazing feeling. You shift around a few times and it's like you have super powers almost! Try it guys!
