What you said about people who enjoy anime and video games being exposed to a wider variety of music is so incredibly true. I find so much modern music to sound exactly the same. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure started as a manga (comic) that started originally in 1987, and is still being written/published to this day. It is divided into multiple "parts" with each part covering a different character, time period and geographical region: the original Jojo takes place in the 1890s in England, the second part takes place in the 1930s in Italy, the third in the 1980s in the Middle East, etc. The author just started up Part 9, to give some context for how long this thing has been going on. And, unsurprisingly, each part is also musically distinct. This song comes from Part 5, which takes place in the early 2000s, so it takes a lot of hints from hip-hop and other musical genres popular at the time. Of course, it also has that certain flair that you can find in a lot of Jojo music, which you may understand more as you hear more of the songs from it.

AYE LETS GOO. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure has been an Anime for a long time. Since the 90's I think. This song is from Part 5 Golden Wind which was from a couple years back. Late 2010's. Loads of good songs. If you do a deep dive with this, every all the opening songs are good. Very diverse too. Anime Ops are going to be most of your requests for Anime fyi. Not that there isn't good OST, but there are hundreds of great Ops and Eds and there are more known and talked about then OSTs. More Mainstrem, I guess.
Prog rock, blues, heavy metal, emo, classical, celtic, jpop, jazz, etc etc. Anime and Games taught me even back in the days of CDs and cassettes that you never need to limit your listening taste to genres.
Music has always been a big thing in Japan, especially jazz and alternative, I follow a page that discovers all the underground and dive jazz bars in Tokyo alone, You can blame casiopea I suppose
I recently found out that not only show refers to popular music but also its soundtrack does. I myself recognized intro from "Owner of a lonely heart" by Yes in Taku Iwasaki's "Welcome to the world" and there's also "Jaws" main motive in Yugo Kanno's "Shark". There definitely is much more to discover, so I would like if you listen to at least the most popular and recognizable OST of this.
I've noticed a HEAVY Monster Hunter influence on Kanno Yugo's music pieces. At first I shrugged it off as pure coincidence, but when Risotto's theme COMPLETELY "stole" a tune from the Swamp theme (intense blue giant crab PTSD flashbacks), I just came to the conclusion that it's not a coincidence. When I have the time, I will go through all of Parts 3 to 6 (the Parts that Kanno Yugo composed) to look for references to other music. For example, Narancia/Aerosmith's theme is obviously an homage to the Ace Combat series. I just KNEW it was gonna have an emotional guitar solo in the middle. And it did. Bam. Also, Giorno's theme has an homage to Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind at 1:02. Edit: Prosciutto's theme in the PS2 game is an homage to 007. And I love how everybody in the comments section universally agrees that Abbacchio's theme in ASB (which BTW takes musical references from the corresponding band to the character) is not Moody Blues, but Linkin Park. A few people are saying that the reference is from Nights in White Satin, but I don't hear it at all.
You will 100% love many things about this OST, especially the openings and character themes, don't miss out on them! It's a show with lots of funny musical references and homages so you'd most likely enjoy watching it too.
I am so happy to hear you are listening to JOJO, what would be even better are some intros from certain seasons of the show, with visuals as well with more context, other than that fantastic seeing your response to this!
So glad you love that track. Super popular song to play amongst ourselves when I was in high school band :DD. Such a good composition. This is the song played when the main characters use their most kick ass moves.
Oh man, I know there's been a lot of video game soundtrack reactions on here but listening to a Jojo theme is gonna open up a whole can of worms from fans. Loved the video!
Exellent breakdown, even tho I have watched a handful of breakdowns of this song, it amazes me that every single one is distinct, gives different perspectives and always tells me something new about music as a whole. Also, playing Doom with music volume turned down is a crime against humanity.
How long ago until he gets introduced to Attack on Titan music I especially love “My War”. I don’t even know what genre it could be classified as. The only way I’ve ever been able to describe it is “brainwashing music” and that’s so thematically appropriate for an arc that essentially takes place in a fictionalized version of nazi Germany
The progression you did after it "ended" really reminded me of a theme from Jojo I can't exactly recall it, but it really had the vibe for one of the seasons of the anime. Great video, very enjoyable to listen along with you!
How have I never heard this,I found this music this week, and it's the best soundtrack that have ever entered my ears lol. So many different parts to it. Gave me goosebumps 😎👍
Risk of Rain 2 Survivors of the Void - Face of the Deep has really good sax solos too, Chris said it was like a synth sax solo battle between him and the other guy in the recording booth
Having played a good amount of video games and watched a lot of anime, the amount of different types of music I’ve listened to now is incredible. I feel that experiencing stuff like that and actively seeking out different types of music makes me more well-rounded and appreciative of music as a whole, even when I can’t understand the lyrics (in Japanese songs). It also helps me so that I can jam out to whatever I need to during certain times, such as OSTs and lo-fi while doing homework. Also, funny you bring up Santana because one of the villains of Part 2 is named after Santana. The JoJo’s mangaka, Araki, loves Western music and that’s why so many names have references. Also, all of the JoJo’s ending songs are Western songs. It’s an incredibly creative and unique series, it was my first anime and although it’s not in my top ten of favorites, it’s just so special and cool.
Something that is fun about anime and game soundtracks is that they will often blend genres. Because there can be a wide variety of situations, characters, etc, many different types of sound can be called for at any given time. So, it can result in the viewer or player being exposed to sounds they may not normally have.
Just a heads up for the bit at 2:30, when people talk about video games as "anime", they're just using it as a descriptor for the visual style and tone; video games aren't themselves anime, Anime is just Japanese animation, the term itself is just an abbreviation for animation that's used regularly in Japanese. Love the work as always!
This is an old video, but I do agree with your point at the end. I would never expect myself to love orchestra music, jazz, or any other type of music other than old school hip hop 😂
Yeah, Anime and Video games has definitely gotten me into a lot of new music. It's a great way to get in touch with new bands whilst doing something entertaining at the same time. Side note: Manga is just Japanese comic books, so we do not really get any music from those
I hope u listen to all the main character and main villain themes. They're all super cool and interesting to listen to. Everyone knows the OST u listened since it's also been used in a lot of memes but there's so many pieces of music that I think are just as good or even better.
Jojos a masterpiece, I truly recommend to you, maybe to react on the channel. The manga started in 1987, it's divided in 9 parts, it's still ongoing during these days and it's the 9th longest manga ever. It has influenced (and has influences from) any kind of pop culture, like real songs and bands, movies, fashion world, real events, ecc... Araki (the mangaka) has done many collaboration with famous brand like Gucci, Balenciaga, Mercedes, other fashion brands and his works were exposed at the Louvre due to his amazing art style that is so recognizable and unique. The anime started in 2012 and ended in 2021 and for now it covers 6 of 9 parts. Basically it's the bizzarre story of the descendants of the Joestar family, which are all called with the nickname JoJo, each one the main character for each part. Every part is unique from the other but ofc they are all connected. Also the power systems and characters influenced so many other mangas and anime, like basically most of the battle shonen that uses some time of power (one piece, naruto, jjk, db, bleach, ecc). The whole jojo manga is longer than one piece and jojo part 7 is rated the second best manga of all time on my anime list. Truly recommended!
If you havnt heard before, the power system revolves around these things called "stands". Most/All stands are named after 80s 90s rock music, artists, songs and albums
i got you, pretty much what i understood from the end, if you play halo you might play doom similar style of games to some extent but the music genres are totally different and we the consumers get to enjoy this variety of high quality music and that's totally true
Subbed love you're reactions, Bleach is another anime that has some really awesome music and is definitely up there with my favorites when it comes to Anime OST's
Basically all characters and their powers are based on bands or singers and their most famous songs. So Jojo HAS to have good music. And they deliver it by a lot.
Dude jojos is an oooooold property since the 80s or 90s i think (sorry if that makes you feel older) Ill probably make it worse when i say the author is in his 60s still making the manga/comic to this very day and still looks like hes in his 30s😂
@@rpgeebzmusicarcade I believe he's referring to Hirohiko Araki (the author of the story who is 62, look him up there's a joke in the fanbase that he's a vampire who doesn't age). The composer of this piece, Yugo Kanno, is 45 year old
Ye, I found a lot of music through various other entertainment media, that I wouldn't otherwise listen to. From the Initial D anime, I got introduced to Japanese Eurobeat. Starting with m.o.v.e - Around the World A bit weird ... isn't eurobeat an Italian thing? Speaking of Italian ... From Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines video game, I started listening to Lacuna Coil. Swamped was in the game.

Jojo's Bizzare Adventure is a story following Johnathan Joestar, nicknamed Jojo, in 1880's England who finds himself battling evil and injustice to protect what he loves and for justice. Dio Brando, Johnathan's step brother aims to take everything the Joestars had, and his evil greed grew to the world and eventually fate itself. After the defeat of Dio, the Joestars have been cursed to fight Dio and the loose ends left behind for generations to fight, all of whom are nicknamed JoJo. Each part of Jojo follows a descendant of Johnathan Joestar. Part 5 takes place in 2004(?) Italy in a crime riddled city, following Johnathan Joestar's and Dio Brando's 15 year old son, Giorno Giovanna. ( Gio is pronounced as Jo, cuz it's Italian. So it's "Jor-no Jo-van-na" Similar to "Di-Jor-no" in Digiorno pizza) Giorno is a good kid, but he is what he grew up in. He's a thief and a scammer. After getting wrongfully involved in a gangster's murder and an attempt made on his life, he now aims to become the mob boss that rules these streets, by eliminating the boss with the help of the boss' next in line to be copo, Bruno Bucciarati. Giorno wants to rid the streets of such grave injustice like selling drugs to kids and all the rampant crime. Even though Giorno has the ability to give life to objects (turning them into living things) he will not think twice about killing his enemies. The name of Giorno's power is Golden Experience. It's a spirit, a stand, that can give life to objects. It can also barrage you with a flurry of punches that usually will instantly kill people IF Golden Experience touches people. How? Cuz it dopes people up with life, so they're so high on life they're paralyzed and will be experiencing everything in slow motion in excruciating detail, leading to the shock killing the person before the punches do. And also the theme is also used for the other members of Giorno's gangstars. That's pretty much the premise. Noticed something weird? Good! I bet it's that Giorno's power, Golden Experience is not named Golden Wind. Don't worry there's a reason for that.

Stumbled upon this video, and subconsciously did the bass scrunch face along with you! Love the energy, definitely subscribing for more
every single jojo song is a BANGER
the openings are just perfection
You will 100% love many things about this OST, especially the openings and character themes, don't miss out on them! It's a show with lots of funny musical references and homages so you'd most likely enjoy watching it too.
I am so happy to hear you are listening to JOJO, what would be even better are some intros from certain seasons of the show, with visuals as well with more context, other than that fantastic seeing your response to this!
So glad you love that track. Super popular song to play amongst ourselves when I was in high school band :DD. Such a good composition. This is the song played when the main characters use their most kick ass moves.
Yess!!! Asked for this in the comments a few weeks ago!
YES ! I hope to see more jojo tracks, they're all bangers !
the jojo series as a whole is a love letter to music
How long ago until he gets introduced to Attack on Titan music
I especially love “My War”.
You should watch the show. They usually play the music during exciting and meaningful parts and it’s gets you so hype and excited.
@@armored_guy I will :)
Ah, the classic! Even I know of this song and I didn't watch this anime yet.
Risk of Rain 2 Survivors of the Void - Face of the Deep has really good sax solos too, Chris said it was like a synth sax solo battle between him and the other guy in the recording booth
didn't expect this video but it definitely made my evening better! love the music and you reactions
I've been waiting for this one!
There's so much more great stuff from Jojo's.
I highly recommend listening to josuke's theme, it's another great piece from the anime, and it's one of my favorites!
Videogames got me into prog and heavy metal, then those got me into Jojo. Solid point haha
If you liked the saxophone, you should give the Metal Slug games' soundtrack a try. Neo Geo games almost all had banger OSTs ;7
It’s an incredibly creative and unique series, it was my first anime and although it’s not in my top ten of favorites, it’s just so special and cool.
omg the mention of kimba the white lion made me so happy i love that anime so much
Ah, I first heard Golden Wind when a humorous vlogger showed a clip of "The Engineer Dance" to make a point. That was a meme within a meme. 😊
Something that is fun about anime and game soundtracks is that they will often blend genres. Because there can be a wide variety of situations, characters, etc, many different types of sound can be called for at any given time. So, it can result in the viewer or player being exposed to sounds they may not normally have.
4:40 Jojo's is full of western music references, and there is actually a character in part 2 named Santana
this has been my alarm for soo long that whenever i hear his music my brain is like WAKE UP!
Shoutout to that Kairu Hakubi in chat recommending Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei's OP, good taste!
the *golden* moment: 7:27
Now that you've heard Il Vento D'oro, it's time for PEPSIMAN
No, I'm not kidding. It slaps _so_ hard
You gotta try the jojo openings too! There's a lot of them but they're super cool! And don't worry about taking time to enjoy the music, it's great!
Love this! Watching non-Jojo fans react to Jojo stuff is always a treat. Especially the music.
You should actually react to all the openings of this just like the entire lyrical soundtracks of Metal Gear Rising
This is an old video, but I do agree with your point at the end. I would never expect myself to love orchestra music, jazz, or any other type of music other than old school hip hop 😂
if your are interested in anime Ost's I highly recommend the Attack On Titan ost. Some of the most incredible music in anime.
Also I think you'd enjoy basically anything from Metal: Hellsinger, especially Stygia.
Yeah, Anime and Video games has definitely gotten me into a lot of new music. It's a great way to get in touch with new bands whilst doing something entertaining at the same time.
Side note: Manga is just Japanese comic books, so we do not really get any music from those
Finally, some good content lol. Thank you good sir, your reaction means everything to a young musician such as myself. Here's the sub!!!!!!!!
there is an OST of Jojo's Bizarre adventure that I particularly like for its melody. I would really like you to react to it!!! Strada Giusta
Would love if you reacted to Josuke's theme too, that one is my personal favourite!
If you havnt heard before, the power system revolves around these things called "stands". Most/All stands are named after 80s 90s rock music, artists, songs and albums
Love this fella, reminds me of my music teacher back when i was a kid.
Mann, this theme took me back to 2018-2019.. This song was soo iconic and was re-created and praised by many fans. 😇
Dear god it's been like 4 years
time flies lowkey remembering good times when i first watch jojo ❤
Damn i'm getting old
@@fasha7747 fr
i got you, pretty much what i understood from the end, if you play halo you might play doom similar style of games to some extent but the music genres are totally different and we the consumers get to enjoy this variety of high quality music and that's totally true
The Pillar Men Theme needs to be listened to if he hasn't already.
HA! I just suggested this! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Now i DEFINITELY recommend reacting to Jojo "Torture Dance" song!~ It's really catchy and comes from Golden Wind as well!~ 🤩
Subbed love you're reactions, Bleach is another anime that has some really awesome music and is definitely up there with my favorites when it comes to Anime OST's
Awesome, more anime. Such a more powerful piece than atmospheric game music.
My favorite piece from JoJo is probably "Killer" from Jojo Part 4. Its one of the more interesting pieces. You could check that one out
We love more people getting exposure to a new 'genre' of music.
Basically all characters and their powers are based on bands or singers and their most famous songs. So Jojo HAS to have good music. And they deliver it by a lot.
Dude jojos is an oooooold property since the 80s or 90s i think (sorry if that makes you feel older)
Ill probably make it worse when i say the author is in his 60s still making the manga/comic to this very day and still looks like hes in his 30s😂
Actually, me being in my 60 is full stoke that the composer is still in the Anime/music rinse :)
@@rpgeebzmusicarcade I believe he's referring to Hirohiko Araki (the author of the story who is 62, look him up there's a joke in the fanbase that he's a vampire who doesn't age). The composer of this piece, Yugo Kanno, is 45 year old
In terms of these charactor's theme OSTs, each segments are designed to be used independently in different scenarios of the show.
Jojo is old school anime and manga by crazy bizarre style 😎✌️
please don't stop these video game, anime ost reactions
If you liked this, you definitely need to check out the OST to Cowboy Bebop! Yoko Kanno went wild on that soundtrack!
Cant wait for you to start Bleach's OST's :)
I think you will enjoy anime "Jujutsu Kaisen"'s Ending Theme Song - "LOST IN PARADISE by ALI".
If you want to listen to something a bit more epic/symphonic in anime Vinland Saga - Somewhere Else is god-tier. :)
Lupin III, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Trigun ost's all highly recommended
JoJo has by far the best ost of all anime if someone who watched Jojo says something else he either likes k-pop and is gay or he is brain injured
this music is quite possibly the definition of jazz madness
You can pause video's using the spacebar on your keyboard.
"Bit of a Santana vibe there"
Funny you should say that. There is actually a character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure called Santana.
Ye, I found a lot of music through various other entertainment media, that I wouldn't otherwise listen to.
From the Initial D anime, I got introduced to Japanese Eurobeat. Starting with m.o.v.e - Around the World
A bit weird ... isn't eurobeat an Italian thing?
Speaking of Italian ...
From Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines video game, I started listening to Lacuna Coil. Swamped was in the game.
You should definitely check out Bleach OST - La Distancia Para Un Duelo. It's definitely not something you'd expect from an anime OST.
"Play Doom but turn the volume down"?!?!
Geebz! I thought we were cool! 😂
5:25 Hamon reference ???
Oh dang you actually got to do 1 jojo piece haha. I've commented on the suggestions video you did about before too, but I'll say it here again since it is related to this video. If you plan on doing the openings, here are the names and singers/artist yet again

I NEED a You Say Run reaction
We need the pillar men now
Ciao Ciao
JOJO
Makes me want a Mario Kart 8 (Dolphin Shoals) reaction, and an 8 Big Band reaction (Snake Eater perhaps?)
JJBA review?? Awesome!
