Hunting on opening day of Wisconsin archery season. I am hoping to get a look at the 10 pointer that has already been making scrapes. He shows up along with many other deer. I hunted the same blind the next afternoon and saw pretty much the same deer including the 10 pointer again.

Looks like you have a ton of good food for them here. Are you planting Miscanthus in the back for a screen? Why did you pass on the 10?

I have a small strip of miscanthus as a visual barrier. I shot a buck open day 41 years ago and it was great at first but I am not ready to be done buck hunting yet. I passed him again the next afternoon. That was strike 2 so he may get shot on strike 3.

Good deal, I utilize Miscanthus as well, very happy with the way it grows. I would kill a buck day one but I also hunt a few states so it lends to that strategy. Seems like they are comfortable on your property so I understand the wanting to wait. @@whitetailhabitatconsulting
