    Thank you so much, I love the video! I especially appreciate the repetition, as others have said, as well as the literal translations of the parts of words - like that "goodbye" is "have fun", or that "seedlings" is shoots, &c. - I find it helps me remember the terms, and gives me a better sense of the flow of the language. More the merrier, I'd say. :) 🎶
    Also as you consider future subjects for lessons - would love to learn more about your techniques for growing potatoes in those black plastic pots! And thanks again! :) :)

      Diolch yn fawr Evan for your kind comments :) Certainly that's how I remember and learn other languages as well, finding little hooks just to jig the memory when speaking or practicing :) Of course, I'm sure I could record a 'Tyfu tatws mewn bwced' Welsh learning video before April's out :)

    Do you teach in “real” life?! Your structure, repetition & explanations are so skilled, fluid & easy to follow! It’s a joy to follow & so lovely to have it relating to the garden!
    I’ve tried learning via duo lingo, but to be honest it isn’t especially engaging. I’ve got a couple of fluent welsh friends, but neither are great teachers.
    Newedd means new, does it not? (I drive past signs for Newbridge a lot 🤣) How does that fit in with how you used it in the sentence in the middle of the video?
    I’m going to have to see if I can get welsh labels for items around my greenhouse!

    • @adamynyrardd
      @adamynyrardd  3 роки тому +1

      Bore da :) I don't teach in 'real life' not as a qualified teacher anyway but I do run gardening sessions from time to time :) Thank you very much, that's really kind of you :)
      You are absolutely correct re 'newydd' it's the Welsh word for new e.g. 'Papur Newydd' Newspaper. However we also use it to convey 'I have recently done something, or I have just done something.
      So for example. Dw i newydd blannu hadau Miri Mari (I have just sown Nasturtium seeds) you will notice 'plannu' has mutated to 'blannu' this is a soft mutation and is formed after using the word 'newydd' with words beginning with 'p, t. c. b, d, g, Ll, M, Rh'.
      Dw i newydd fynd i Bontnewydd ar Wy (I have just gone to Newbridge on Wye)
      I hope that helps explain it :)

    Brilliant, Adam - you have a knack for teaching!
    My highlight: that the word for 8 is closer to the French huit (which is the odd one out among the Romanic (and some Germanic) octo/ocho/otto/åtta etc.) - especially since the other Celtic languages are closer to Germanic acht/eight, if I remember correctly... Notice I‘m really having fun with this 🤣

      Thank you very much :D I must admit I'm not a qualified teacher I have just created these based on other language videos that I enjoy watching, like yourself I love languages and how they relate to each other but also differ. That's fascinating I hadn't made that connection either with Acht (auf Deutch) and Ocht (As Gaeilge) compared to Wyth and Huit!
      I'm glad you are having fun :D next week It will be a vocab lesson with names for different vegetables I'm sure you will be able to make comparisons there as well :D

    Oooh, dw i'n hoffi miri mari! Dw i'n tyfu miri mari yn yr twnel tyfu bob blwyddyn!
    Another great lesson!
    Grateful for the subtitles, I have been trying to learn for a while, but listening and repeating only, so, being able to read and attempt writing is a bit exciting and slightly daunting 😂
    Love the tree cabbages, they really are my favourite brassica!

    Diolch Adam - mwynhais i llawer 🌱a chi’n ysbrydoli fi i wneud mwy yn ein gardd - dw i’n teimlo tipin bach o overwhelm weithio - ein gardd yn Alltwen yn 180 troedfedd hir ar y tyle. Unrhyw tips i sortio ‘overwhelm’?! 🙂

    • @adamynyrardd
      @adamynyrardd  3 роки тому

      Diolch yn fawr Sasha, a llongyfarchiadau ar ysgrifennu Cymraeg arbennig o dda hefyd! Mae'n gallu bod yn anodd cael ein 'llethu' neu 'overwhelm' yn yr ardd. Y tip pwysicaf byddai i wneud tipyn bach bob dydd, tipyn bach o blannu, tipyn bach o chwynnu a byth gwneud un darn o waith mawr o'r un peth, mae'n syndod gymaint mae pethau'n dod wedyn.
      Mae dywediad gyda ni yn Gymraeg 'ara' deg a phob yn dipyn' sy'n disgrifio garddio i'r dim :)

    Why I is e, and u is e sound? So is it I for e, and u for ee or y sound ?

    • @adamynyrardd
      @adamynyrardd  3 роки тому

      In Welsh the I sound is like the German 'J' or as 'y' in yoghurt. The U sound is pronounced similar in south Wales but in the North it's a narrower sound. The Y sound in Welsh is pronounced similar to 'uh' so school is Ysgol pronounced 'Uhskol'
