Description:
"Alien Vendetta (av.wad) is a 2001 megawad that contains 32 new and hard levels. It is one of the few PWADs that are allowed to be used in Compet-n speedruns, and one of the Top 100 WADs of All Time." from doomwiki.org/w...
One of my favourite wads and I've wanted to do the full run for a while. This is also my longest demo.
A few close calls, some lucky moments which made certain areas seem easy, some terrible mistakes and alot of careful (slow) play during the end. Don't expect me to play on the same level as I do with doom 2, because it would take an eternity to optimize and practice for a full run of this wad.
I was hoping it would be under 90 minutes, maybe I could revisit this category in the future and play a bit more agressive towards the end. The first levels were not too bad, but definitely a lot of time wasted on the later levels.

THE MADMAN, DUDE. I never thought someone would speedrun AV. I've only seen TAS, but never a fully played run.
Of course, it had to be over the hour, I can't think some way to run a beast like Av that easly. Great work!
As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to watch. Whoever gave this a dislike is crazy, for a first full UV speed attempt at a 15 yr old WAD that no-one has attempted before is something to be treasured. The fact it only lasts 93 minutes is staggeringly quick. Are you thinking of doing AV's spiritual brother Hell Revealed in the same format?
I probably won't be doing hell revealed.
Probably leaves some room for us to hope ;)
YESS, I AM, THX, 4 ASKING!! HAVE A NICE WEEKEND, ZERO-MASTER WILL LIKE THE COMPLIMENT!!!
I have decided that you ARE actually Doom Guy and you are just trolling us all
XD !!!
@@DoomHasCame Yeah, so?
Lmao all the evidence would suggest your right
Those were really great skips, glides and switch-through-the-wall presses. I love this speedrun.
19:28 "You have won!"
Yey
lands of lore ii 2 Dracoid Ruins Battle theme
Alien vendetta map09
Kama Sutra Map05
I thought the cacodemon at 48:24 took like 5 rockets to the face... but there were spectres in front of him.
Another amazing run. From Zero to Hero!
11:17 LOW HEALTH 10%
The DOOM goat strikes again.
loved every minute of this.
What a beautiful WAD, I've never seen this one before. I like the clever usage of assets from other games.
ZeroMaster the best DOOM player there is, well no wonder haha brilliant run :)
Heretic E1M1 theme
Alien Vendetta map19
Speed of doom map12
Oh man this is an entertaining mapset for this. I've somehow missed playing or watching this wad before. I think I gotta give it a try
Great job! You may be the best ever! Awesome!
7:52 i was waiting for that face
This actually looks like a very well done mega wad. would be neat to see a regular Let's Play of it.
46:05 -> Such a good timing for the megasphere in between all the action. The 16% hit would have easily chipped off the last 11% health.
0:51 I SAWED THE DEMONS THEME !
Holy shit that Revenant one-shot at 1:22:22
The entire run is phenomenal but that one really surprised me
Bashe86 didn't know one ssg shot would ever kill a revenant, is that even possible
It's not possible. A revenant has 300 health and the maximum damage a ssg can do with Doom's skewed RNG is 295. The revenant had to have already taken some damage.
Spie812 exactly my thought but I don't think it took any damage before cause it was "sleeping" in its actual place and woke up with the ssg shot. Weird this.
SSG dealt 220 damage, the revenant got hit by a BFG tracer but didn't wake up.
Zero Master that's probable
This is stupid underrated! Good run!
8:43 what a music ?
@@szymon6207 you mean what is the name of the music?
@@metalvideos1961 Task Force pre started map07
11:15 nice fail and nice luck :p
12:07 how did he get through the bars?
14:32 DG: hey, there’s the exit!
Manc: where ya goin?!
DG: (spins around - shotgun time the face - leaves)
18:00 when you run so fast even the _exit_ is like “wait up man!”
20:28 (goes back just to kill chaingunner)
Heh heh.. that was noice
29:00 are you... _dancing?_
52:03 I think this is my favorite episode
You all should check out Hexa’s play through (pistol start challenge with Doom:Complex and Legendary)
18:03 LOL
Anyways, nice run. Though I will never see a speedrun of this PWAD until now... :P
1:10:38 Jesus fucking Christ! You survived being gunned down like SGT. Elias from Platoon!
AV was one of my favorite Wads...except for the Pyramid..hated that lvl.
this is my fav demo of doom
9:42 He gets ready the BFG, but then he underestimates the revenants and decides to use the super shotgun instead, that was a mistake that costed health and time.
Now do nightmare
47:14 They say that the rocket is still following him till this day.
That was fckn awesome broo 🔥
1:05:57 - if doom had a rave
Indeed. Always got good ol Club Doom too. /watch?v=vNpho45LnhE
It looks really sick. Started playing this game today and finished the first level. Well... I see that very difficult times playing this one to come 🤪
So this is why you haven’t updated the DSDA channel in a week. I knew you were up to something, but I didn’t think it would be this big!
13:34 "So how many Zombies did you kill with a single shot?" - "Yes."
Wad release 2001 !
Incredible.
meanwhile i took 20 minutes figuring out how to exit the first map
thats absolutely normal experience.
otoh, speedrunner spent their entire life to perfected selected few levels to run.
@@NickDyers what an absolute chad
Great music.
5:38 😸🙀
20% HEALTH REMAIN !
Hope Bethesda adds this wad to the oficial wad list.
you ...are...god
Nice map, the who made is actually very good
Two thumbs up!
I dont even want to know how many times that archvile in last room of Seclution has blocked you
11:16 woaw it was close xD
Just a question, could you put a facecam during the run ? i would very much like to see your face when you do a fail or a success :3 But if its to private or anything I will understand ^^
Zero Master does not respond to non-doom playing peasants like you. He is busy battling evil in hell. SHOW SOME RESPECT!
imagine the facecam in the place of the Doomguy's HUD face
@@technoguyx wish people would actually do that instead of taking up 25% of the screen
The doom guy face in the hud is his facecam
No fu**n way .... Master of Doom ...
It seems like Doom was designed for this guy? He's a fcking animal
Holey moley ..... that was an assault on the senses. How do you play so fast???!?!?!?
Great
that exit skip in 18:02
5:38 Nice -80 ye fucking doot
never heard of D2all before
looks like its a single segment playthrough of every level?
StalkerZHS yes it is
yeah I usually avoid using it since it might not be too familiar, I'll edit description and put it under map to make it a bit more clear I mean a playthrough of map 1-30. edit: removed d2all to avoid confusion.
D2all is a shorthand used for single segment runs, not necessarily "all levels" but completing map 30 from pistol start on map 01 Rules are basically no saves, technically continuing from pistol start on death is allowed (I think), and death exits are ok. The syntax is used because the base files for full mapsets are based on Doom 2, and D2all was the "category" for those runs originally in doom 2.
That's nice man. I see no runs at all in that category on doomedsda, so.. world first hype too! Can't wait to watch it, AV is really good!
Damn
Out of curiosity, would you ever be willing to speedrun the entire wad of Requiem? I remember being absolutely floored by that megawad as a kid, but I don't really see anybody ever playing it or running it. Perhaps it isn't good for it, but I definitely would love to see people of skill play it.
requiem had some long and annoying levels towards the end iirc, not something I feel like spending time on anymore unfortunately... there is however runs for the individual levels, uv speed here: ua-cam.com/play/PLTmV4zpWzC8kF3loZ2mZYw1HirNsJEO9v.html , there's also uv-max and nightmare on that channel
Woah
Hey while watching this i realized years after that the name "Allien vendetta" is becuase doom guy is the Alien right?, Cool name or am i just dumb lol, played this so many years ago hahhaah
They named the wad like that just because sounds cool, thats It haha
This is crazy dude! Will you do more mods?
I'll never understand how people are able to play any FPS without taking time to line up their shots.
this is doom. not realy comparable with other "modern" FPS. you have auto aim in doom (in sourceports like Zdoom related source ports you can turn it off). So somethings make it easier. and doom is a fast game to begin with. not like you run of the mill shooters like COD or things like that. 90s fps games just work different.
What happened at 29:00 ?
There are two triggers at the blue key, one that makes the door close for thirty seconds and one that makes the monsters teleport in. He hit the one that closes the door on its own so that he didn't get trapped in with the enemies, then just waited for it to open before grabbing the key and setting off the monster trigger so that he could just run out as the enemies appeared.
he just wanted to dance man
an ad apparently
Plutonia NM pistol start 100s is possible? If so I'll give it an attempt.
31:21 Shows this run was done by NOT an AI chipset
Voting as most annoying room ever
I watched till 10:42
Whats going on 53:40 ?? 🤔
activating a switch through the wall, the position is really precise so the setup takes a bit of time, I also messed up my inputs so it took twice as long as it was supposed to.
whats up with 36:20? Tryimg to instigate infighting or skip a monster closet?
If I go out the teleporter I can get blocked from arachnotrons, but the monsters are trying to follow me while I'm on the outside (because the room is in the other direction) so everything gathers up far away from the switch\ledge after the teleporter. During practice I got hit several times by the cyberdemon if I wasn't quick enough to drop down.
@@ZeroMaster Awesome, thanks so much for the clear explanation
you should try dark tartarus next
2:30 How do you do that trick?
Is this the biggest wad ever?
How
53:50 - обалденный момент для spedrun!
Скорее похоже на slowrun!))))
He's aligning himself to hit an off-screen switch through a wall, which is why he's taking so much time.
Can we hope for Scythe 2 full run?
j4rio's already done one.
I was sure that it's impossible to make solid run of AV because of two very hard and long levels - Misri Halek and Demonic Hordes. And I am very disappointed that both of them has cheating shortcut. BTW, great and impressive run!
Try to play this WAD with project Brutality, its so fucking hard
54:25 ??
On the other side is a switch. He presses space rapidly to hit the switch in the perfect angle. Around each switch is a certain circle of range and this wall is thin enough to reach it. In Duke Nukem 3D it's the same. In the 2nd map Red Light Destrict you can blow up the house by pressing a switch that normally needs blue key card. So you save time for that card.
@@MrZillas thank you for explaining
PLAY NIGHTMARE
02:30 how can you pass there?
It's a glide. It's probably the same width as your sprite so if you line it up just right you'll slip through.
why is the boss always the same
Zandronum ,av ,complex ,map13 /14 = cancer xD
lol yeah. noticed it when I played on those servers. :P
39:34
Some revenants
AV is quite overrated by today standards. And i don't mean the texture work, or the layout/architecture of the levels, which are good for the most part. The first episode is the best overall, but the second and third? It's the combat design in most maps from that point forward that lets the whole megawad down. Terrible corridor and door frame fights, grindy combat. And don't even make me start on Brad Spencer's chore design... big maps with hundreds and hundreds of monsters divided into groups of the same type and clustered inside separate rooms, and yet it's not that hard, just very tedious and extremely repetitive. It's not quite slaughter combat either, because good slaughter scenarios involves precise movement and fast thinking, not sitting under a door frame or in the middle of a long hallway and mowing down hordes of the same types of enemies, like imps or zombies.
And what to say about the most overrated map of them all, Misri Halek? This map is the prime example of why combat design is more important than visual design. Making a good-looking map is a great thing, but first you have to make sure that it's fun to play. Misri Halek is a mishmash of cramped, claustrophobia inducing corridors and rooms. It fits the theme, but it's not fun to play. It's also needlessly oversized and confusing. If your map drags on for more than 30 minutes, despite not having a huge monster count, then there's something wrong here. The author was clearly more concerned about sticking to the Ancient Egyptian theme, rather than to make a fun level to go with it. As for Episode 3? It is a complete and utter garbage, and that's all i'm going to say about it. Clandestine Complex is the only bright spot in it.
Also, Dean of Doom is completely clueless as to what makes or breaks a Doom map. The guy is a confused nostalgia driven fanboy and his reviews are biased to no end. He gave high scores to some of the worst maps in Doom's 30-year history (just look at his Evilution review), and at the same time he often gives mediocre or negative reviews to some real gems. He has the credibility and integrity of a kid in the 90's who has just picked up Doom for the first time.
vertical mouse movement is more handy than any of you think
why you crouch man? that's legit?
