- This video showcases Tarja Turunen's vocal range on the DVD "From Wishes To Eternity". I love this concert and I think this was the period where Tarja was at her best during her time with Nightwish. Her technique was good, her sound was dark and strong and she had support in all her registers.

Fantastic job! I loved dark and rich voice that Tarja had on the first three albums! My favourite kind of female vocal, without a doubt. She is still great vocalist, but her voice sounds different now, more brighter. Anyway, nightwish and tarja fans will love this video.

Tarja's voice is so dark and deep. Her vocal range is C#3- G#6 ! from alto to High coloratura soprano. but her fifth octave sounds low.

This is a good kind of music. I have to admit that I'm not a listener because I'm currently focusing on other types of music, but this one is sounding nice. Her voice is very good!

I'm by no means a fan of the music but her voice to me is so elegant and regal. Her voce de cabeza is one of those sounds that I could hear in the BG of a movie when an epic fight or event is about to take place. Really good job! May I say I don't know hoooow in the world you could tell her head voice from her chest voice...then again it's all full voice so eh.
Had support in all her register? Her head was much weaker here then it is now. On End Of The Era she brings much more vibrato, has more lyrical color and her voice is much more "free", in a way she can sing lows and highs with ease and whole range is MUCH more supported. This era of her voice had it's charms IDK, I bellive her technique is far better on End of The Era. Personally I like her voice much more now, but it doesn't have anything with this critique ;) Cheers
Notice that he didn't say it was the era where her voice was most support. He simply pointed out that the voice was supported in all the registers.
Nah, she haven't had support in any of her register, she rather used head voice allot and very low, bringing it to chest range which then seemed like she had very connected registers. Her technique is much better now, her color of voice is lighter and it's personal preference whether someone likes darker or lighter color. And she has much more support in all her registers now.
Tarja supported the sound on both ends of this concert. That means that all the registers were supported. What he meant.
If you could explain what u mean by support we could end this never ending discussion.
Bagell Doughnuts You're correct that her voice had more support during End of an Era because her voice had settled into its natural tessitura and because her low register had developed more. However, that does not mean that her voice lacked support here. If she lacked support, you would hear strain in the middle and upper registers and you would hear airiness in the low register. You would also notice a lack of breath support. All her notes here were relatively effortless and there was a solid column of sound. She never wavered in pitch and her vocal lines were all seamless as well.
