I love how Jack's looking up (at the chords?) and asking Tom : 'A?' And things like that, and then just completely wrecks over those chords. I mean, that's a frikkin high level of skill to know the chord a milisecond before it appears and then just hitting all the right notes, hah. And Tom's legato knocked me out cold as usual

Tom Quayle: Excellent legato, amazing use of outside notes, and brilliant musician.
Jack Gardiner: Mastered phrasing, Genuine and great feel, and fluid use of overall notes.
For me the winner here....... is Jack. Love Tom's fast runs, but I felt more of the emotion and character of jack. cheers to them both.

Even though Jack Guardiner has a spectacular touch himself and beautiful phrasing it seems that he was overwhelmed by the smooth liquid flowing poetic improvisations from the virtuosity of Tom Quake.... its a case of a great talented "mortal" guitarist playing along side an "unhuman" alien guitar player. Quayle is not from this planet.

Go to 1st jazz academy or classical guitar school and you will find 10's of players who can wipe the flor with his 2 artificial heros. Or walk among streets of some south american big city, or get into club were real jazz players play not for $ and glory but due to they love music...this uber boring mix of exercises with 0 improvisations = shit.

man needs to learn to trust his ear and not worry about what chord is going on ;)

In a crowded NAMM show, believe me, using your ear is near impossible when it comes to hearing absolutely anything, especially backing tracks! ;)

Jack, you're a terrific player. Your melodic sense is great in this jam.
