This game looked terribly dated on PS1 (especially compared to NBA In The Zone, which was a launch title), but the soundtrack was awesome. A couple of years later in '98, I was working tech support for a tax program and I got a call from someone at EA. They put me on hold (I don't remember why) and the hold music was the NBA Live 96 soundtrack. Even EA knew it was boss.
That's amazing! I miss those days where ppl werent glued to phones n had talent. If I was at EA, I'd find a way to make NBA Live better than 2k and put this music in it.
i remeber this song blaring ringing in my ears evrday back in 97, the catchy bell, electro music and the women singing very beautifully! by the way who is the women that sings in this soundtrack song in this classic game? she sounds like a singer that was some popstar in the 90s that started her fame a little earlier than the year of this games season 1996!
@@thoedymcshiest3021 yes certainly dude, if my hunch is correct , i remember these were the last years starting with the year 1996 that the prime superstars of the 90s Kemp, Malone, Jordan, etc.. were still killing the nba and on top with the the next generation decade primarily the young kids, young future talent like shaq, kobe, iverson, webber, tim duncan, kg were either just rookies, in they're 1st or 2nd year or just not on top of the world or prime yet in the league!you know your a fan of old school nba basketball man when you remeber all the rosters and recognize all the old players now retired that were in the league at that time! also you know your old when a person like myself remembers role players on those 90s teams that challenged the bulls for a championship in the 90s, particuarly looking at this game i still have to this day and cherish, theyres guys that these kids today wouuld not look up on basketball refereence! for instance, the sonics who challenged the bulls in the finals that year, i forgot they had hershey hawkins, detlef schrmpf and sam perkins on that finals sonics team that become either old bench warmers in the early 2000s for teams lol!
I seem to think it was En Vogue, even though I didn't realize it until now. I remember those days when I would play this after school and update the rosters to the current 97-98 season (I got this game from Electronics Boutique in August of 97) and this song and several others would pop in my head from time to time!
I have fond memories with this game. I remember when I first got my PS1, this was one of the games I got. One time, me and my dad played full 12 Minute Quarters and scored 200+ each on other. Ahh... 1995, back when we didn't have realism in basketball yet, and we didn't care.
Big UP K-Dragon! That was one wild summer bro. NightMissionRainyStage
1990's NBA was fun every season then whole decade
