- Interview I had from a Sid Vicious CD with a bunch of pictures of him.
Im not really sure who the other person in the interview is.
EDIT: thank you to people who commented and to the person who felt the need to message me.
:]
I know now that that IS Johnny Rotten.
so...there.
i love how once he asks the reporter 'what' he just keeps going with the weird noises
It is amazing to me, I never realized how soft Sid's voice was.
1.43 what Sid is saying?
interesting to hear sids thoughts on south africa, he was smarter than hes given credit for
1.43 what Sid is saying?
Wow. he really was an intelligent person and i love the way he looked at the world. he was just a little messed up, that's all. i really love him and i wish i could have met him. RIP SID VICIOUS
Poor sid prophesizing his death , RIP you beautiful child
I know he was just a little baby boy Sid. He wanted to die for years and it was his main goal and ambition to die. He did not like life. He had a very hard life. I feel so bad for him. Somebody should have intervened. Todd and Patti Smith tried to help him when he assaulted Todd at Hurrah's by having him sent to Riker's Island. His sentence was 2 months in Riker's Island for the assault. I think it would have been better to keep him in there until after he was fully acquitted. He could have gotten more help.
Glad I finally thought to listen to it online. Read the interview over a decade ago...much better to hear! Sid was pretty funny.
"Shut up, Sidney." at 1:46. Sid was so MESSED UP. johnny was funny.
1.43 what Sid is saying?
What a lovely smile Sid has in the last picture! It's captivating.
I've heard a few interviews of the Sex Pistols and I see a similar pattern between Johnny and Sid: it seems that Johnny has the role of the intelligent member of the band and has to "make sure" that Sid keeps his role as the unintelligent one. In 3:05 when they're talking about why they aren't playing in larger cities in the US Sid starts to give his opinion and Johnny clearly interrupts him. A little later Sid tries to speak again and Johnny doesn't let him. Sid was an intelligent but very troubled person; notice his sharp, but bitter witty remarks. RIP Sid.
"We'll probably be dead in two years" - Sent shivers down my spine.
1:46
"Oh shut up sidney..."
Hahahaha
"I wanna just ruin everything"
how could you not love the guy?
sid is hilarious
Cute when John calls Sid Sidney!
sid vicious was a symbol of punk, without sid, there wouldnt be the sex pistols, and without the sex pistols there wouldnt be punk. sid is a legend because he was a mascott for one of the biggest and most important bands of the time.
SID SID SID!!!!
I LOVE YOU SIDDDD!!
He sounds soo young .. bless him rip
Hehe, he sounds very happy. Funny guy. :)
R.I.P Sid
4:10 Love the pause then... "I just wanna ruin everything" hahaha
Of all these shots the one that just kills me to the core is poor sid with his mum it's sooo poignant he looks a little boy lost , can you imagine the love that sid had throughout his life ? Not much I expect , poor poor sid !!
thanks for this mate, sid and john are classic commics
SID VICIOUS SOULD HIS SOUL FOR A LETHER JAKET
Johnny Rotten said that.
Missing Sid!
Johnny rotten was right about the sid and nancy movie. It just made sid look stupid. Okay sid wasnt Albert Einstein but he wasn't as stupid as portrayed in that movie. He actually sounds really funny and sarcastic lol.
sid visious is awesome
My family grew up in London, specifically Hackney in the 70's and my mum about 13/14 at the time kept on seeing this ''weird'' kid with dark spikey hair every now and then (this was before he was a sex pistol around 75) and caught the name of his name by someone in the area, john beverley. Then just so happens a few of my mum and her mates decided to nick his football for a laugh, he threw a bit of paddy and just told her to fuck off! from then they sort of greeted each other.
1.43 what Sid is saying?
This is the second time I've heard Sid predict his death in a short time in an interview.
Whoever made this did a great job. I dug it.
"Oh shut up Sidney"
It's with Bonnie Simmons at KSAN on the afternoon before the final gig at Winterland 14/1/78. They were promised leather jackets if they would do the interview.
love sid
I Read That Book Too, It's Brilliant.
I Love How There Is So Much Information In It Especially By Sid's Mother. She Should Know What She's Talking About.
xx
I love them
He looks cute in the last picture. He has a really nice smile. He looks cute when he smiles.
on 4:40 he sounds like John (when he wispers: and they gonna kill those ppl...) .
Sid was sweet, but drugs fucked him up. Johnny nowadays seems so much more together. He's aged into a very clever, switched on man.
love it...
You can say what you want about the sexpistols . But they where one of the great perfoming punk bands . they created the image and way of punk life that so many 16 year olds pick up on still today. I keep hearing why didnt they talk about pollotics and such . they where 17 18 years old when they wrote the album . what it realy comes down to is the sexpistols where and still are an entertaining band to listen to or watch videos .. sid and johnny did get their leather jackets after the interview
thanks man ! :D
me too I see it!!
Wanna hear something weird, after doing about a months worth of research on Sid I was in my bathroom after taking a shower and I look up on the wall and there is his name written on the wall. I swear on everything holy I did not put it there!
That's a great quote!
omfg i love sid & rotten. they truly didn't give a fuck lol & i love it
RIP Sid
oi grazie!!! ero riuscita a capire solo che era gennaio!!XD grande!
fuckin SID RULES!!!!
"ITS JANUARY" lol
man they are vicious. that's wat makes them popular
Steve commented that he did try to copy the moves on stage but he also said that he regretted doing so because he had his own thing going at the time and it was much better. I tend to agree with him.
the other person is Johnny Rotten
Definitely. A lot of people think he was just a stupid kid but I think he was highly intelligent. He knew what he was doing and what he was talking about.
I love Sid.
Sid Vicious Was My Mentor And Taught Me Everything About Punk Rock Music And Becoming A Punk Rocker And Bass Player For The Girls Because Sid Vicious Was The World's Best Mentor I've Ever Had In All My Life I Would Like Sid Vicious To Take Me Out For Pizza Because That's What Mentors Do
The look on his face when being taken in for questioning about his ladies death is very reconiseable to someone who has lost someone they truely love! You feel numb & your here but really not feels like walking in a dream not real but you know it is! Very sad end for these 2 as no-one knows what truely happened to either one of them! May they rest in peace! Obviously they both never had it in life! 😢😢😢😢😢😢
great rare interview. they were so out of it that interviews were a way for the band to focus on what to do next. Like the "shut up sidney!" lol and Sidney: " we will be dead in 2 years" how true was that prophesy!
Sid Vicious used to be a huge role model for the punks in the 70s and early 80s. And I guess he is kind of an idol today, but maybe his "biggest" time has passed? He's been buried for decades.
i remember reading sid was a a sweet fella before the drugs and drink got him
clever dysfunctional lot... Rip Sid... poor sod...
It's it just great, have you read any others by Alan Parker? He has done a few, some with other people though, Also, have you seen the film adaption of it? I really want to but have never got round to it :(
it's the interview in s.f. end tour.. bonnie simmons something it's all in the book 12 days with the sex pistols....
yeah good luck son,keep pogo'in.
Fuckin great! Sid at his best!
sid
Yeah, he did. Watch the last concert - it's on here somewhere.
ok little one, old mummmy says it's time for bed, night night.
lmao me and my friend love that part
i bet they were all friends who definately loved each other.
@cecopiteco they were promised a leather jacket if they acted polite with this bonnie dj.. they had the jacket after the show, it was at the end of the american tour
''when im at home i dont even know what day it is''. in loads of interviews and such he seems to be quite a nice funny bloke, even though he once told my mum to ''fuck off''
there's a long pause and then at 1:27 the two johns say "what?" in unison. priceless ^_^ Sid is such a dolt. R.I.P.
and of course John saying "aw shut up, sidney" is pure John Lydon "Rotten" lol
Love Sid's elaborate story about how badass they are and then John finally is like "uhm that ain't the real reason why they kicked us out. We actually don't know why they kicked us out."
lydon=coherent ritchie/"vicious"=incoherent and says "like" a lot rotfl
Yeah, this is during their American tour. Sid and Johnny were in a bus, and Steve and Paul were flying. Or something..
oh and in regards to the description its either jonny rotten or steve jones. it sounds like a young rotten though.
As far as I know, she's still alive. But I wasn't talking about the ring, I was talking about the chain...
"Oh shut up Sidney"
hahaha
1:45 "ohh shut up sydney"
oh pleeease where did you get that pictures??? D:
i really want them
plz tell me!!
Damn! I can see it too!!! Now that's fuckin' freaky!!!!!!
Uno così può solo fare una fine così. ...Era un tipo che voleva l'attenzione tutta per sé arrivando ad essere contento di essere visto con le manette !!! Il punto più alto della sua vita di merda ed eroina !!!
thanks alot, you from the UK?
he was making that (new songs) up on the spot. I believe it was in that Rotten book (haven't read it since 1994, or maybe it was "On the road with the sex pistols") that he was talking nonsense. They hadn't written any songs while on tour.
love it at 3:40
i heard the song he is talking about at the end and its sick
They were just kids then. People change. Well, not you really. But John did, they all did. They look back with reality, not "JUST HATE" or "JUST LOVE"... see. Do ya? I didn't think so.
whoa,it was creepy when sid said " we'll probably be dead in two years,me and him ".He was partly right, since he was dead the year after !.
man,i couldn´t have said it better, the only one who deserves to be worshipped is Rotten
Me too xD " And he said :'your contract has been canceled' and we said :'HA HA HA HA' " amazing xD
the irony wen sid says"we'll probably be dead in 2 years"
im gesisnt his is liek 77? if it is thts a pretty freaky fign to say
rip sid vicious
Simon ferocious he's the baddest dude ever
That's Johnny Rotten, it was done in San Francisco on the last day of the tour, it says so in "12 Days on the Road" they were promised leather jackets if they did the interview.
Sid and I lived together after Nancy died, and HE HAD NO RINGS. I was with him when he died, and there were NO RINGS, or any kind of jewelry. His heroin addicted mother also said there was a death note, like a year later, and that was also not true. His property was in my apartment, and the cops and I all saw it before anyone else (including the Junkie Anne) did. She had no idea how to tell the truth. She came to be with him to try to make money. He was about the truth.Hope she's rotting.
cmon!
i watch the documentary for sid's live and eventually an old school friend name peter kodic bought the drugs for him paid by his mom.He overdose on the nite before he died but he was recoverd by his fren then it came till the real truth. His mom gave him the remaining drugs that the fren left for sid for the nxt day and that is how he died. His mom kept this secret until before her dead in 1996...sadly....
lmao "oh shut up sidney"
sid had a number of issues but was still awsome!
Poor Did, such a misunderstood soul.
@brokkli1 He didnt wear it for racist reasons, he did it for shock value, and to invoke anger and hatred
lmao! The lady is so frustrated xDDD
I love Sid.
Is is just me or does nancy look like a man?
I LOVE YOU SID AND JOHNNY!!! D:
Oh My God, haha. That's hilarious. Haha. xx
sid was talented. you try play drums 4 1 band, saxophone for another and then join another mid tour and play bass and learn all the songs all within less than a year
John Lydon was right about the 'cowboys', those kinda a people r a lot more honest than type u find in most big cities. Music really needs bands like this 2 stop things getting stale n safe. I'm more of post punk new wave of rock kinda guy but punk paved the way.
Btw, before he goes Jamaican, isn't he having another accent? Sounds German, doesn't it? From 1:31 - 1:35. x)
If you look close enough i think its a poster or something
