It definitely will make you take what God has said, what God has done, and who God IS MUCH more seriously than ever before. We walk around like spiritual zombies until we take the holiness of God very SERIOUSLY.

The whole concept of God is about His Kingdom, His Power, and His Glory as declared in the Lord's Prayer. It is often the case that great Theologians deny the reality of the supernatural. If one removes the supernatural from christianity, it becomes another superlative religion. Before R.B. Sproul, I remember R.B. Thieme, another very fantastic Theologian, who taught that God does not speak to us today, having given us His written Word in the Bible. R.B. SPROUL also taught the same. How could any impassioned study of lives of christian ministers like John G. Lake, William Marrion Branham, Kathryn Kuhlman, Oral Roberts, A.A.Allen, Smith Wigglesworth, leave one as a sceptic about the truth of the supernatural Power Of God??? I guess one explanation is that we can not have it all.

I love Dr. Sproul. I so look forward to seeing him. I miss him. I appointed him my spiritual mentor in 2012 when I learned the truth of Reformed theology. Sadly, I didn't have much time with him. But, he left a Lot of material to study. :)

I never "spoke in tongues" or "prophesied," I was more interested in the deep spiritual worship. My initial salvation "experience" was such that I found in no fundamental church. When I expressed the feelings I felt as a result of my salvation, people immediately told me, "Don't trust your feelings!" Like I wasn't supposed to feel anything as a result! I knew this had to be wrong as well. I was a changed person and there was no doubt to it! And the fundamentals wanted me to quash it and the charismatics wanted me to act idiotically with it!

I am excited about the offer of the Holiness book by R.C. Sproul. For the past year or so I've been studying for my own book on Holiness, as it pertains to the sanctification of believers. The Holy Spirit absolutely did NOT indwell Old Testament Saints, that's the mystery of the Church in the New Covenant kept hidden from them. The Spirit came upon the prophets, and certain people st times, but did not indwell them. The reason New Covenant believers are held to a higher standard of righteousness (inwardly in addition to outwardly), is precisely because we have the overcoming power of His Spirit within us.
