So despacito means slowly (like everything they are going to do is at a slow paste. So Daddy Yankee is also puerto rican and he is one of the most famous rapper in latin american. Even the model in the video she is miss universe 2006 from puerto rico.

I know exactly Puerto Rico is located in the Caribbean, but I've mostly spoken about South America. It usually comes from the habit of talking about Central and South America, that is my fault.

My dear friend Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 is a Caribbean island, far away from South America. Both singer are puertoricans and the model is miss universe 2006 also puertorican.
1. The village is called La Perla in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
2. We aren't from South America, we are a small island from the Caribbean.
3. We don't drink tequila. I mean... We do, but our specialty is: rum, coquito, pitorro, Piña Colada with rum (can be without as well). Tequila is from Mexico. But nothing against it, people can also get tequila here. Just wanted to mention that we have our own drinks that are just as good. ^^;
4. The song is actually on how they are gonna take sexual actions slowly to then go all savage and what not. A vast mayority of the songs in the Reggaeton genre may sound all dancy, nice, and exciting; but the lyrics can be described as pretty sexual and vulgar. Not all, but most.
5. And well that's most of our culture, I suppose. Like, exciting and passionate. Though the island is going through somethings, but it's still pretty enjoyable here. ^^
The song isn;t about sex at all. Fonsi did a interview and said the song is about taking live slowly. Yo tambien es latino, pero South America. Uruguay :P

The video was shot in Puerto Rico and the beat is mostly from the Caribbean. This area of Latin America is very different from Mexico and South America. The alcoholic drink from the caribbean is Rum. Not sure if someone has mentioned it but the instrument you hear at the beginning is not a guitar but a cuatro, a string instrument from Puerto Rico. it has a higher tone than guitars.

This type of music is called Reggaeton, it is very popular throughout Mexico and Latin America, this song is not about a village but about love and a girl, the word "despacito" means "slow or slowly" in this context. The other guy featuring is Daddy Yankee he is a popular Puerto Rican. That location is most likely Puerto Rico but most Latin American countries including Mexico have villages that look like that. Mexico is very topical around the coast area. (some people who think they know Mexico only know it by stereotypes and not know it's true amazing appearance.)
Reggaeton, music is very popular among the Latin youth who also listen to it here in the U.S usually it's a mixture of artist from Latin America coming together to collaborate :)
