Warzone 2100 is my favorite game of all time. I have been playing it for over 10 years on multiplayer and there are still so many things to learn. The game is very well sorted out from day one. Great vid by the way
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is the BEST RTS I have ever played. All I would need to die happy would be a version with updated graphics, although it's still not horrible as it is. Rise of Nations was also a fabulous variation on the Age of Empires type game.
I am brand new to RTS games aside from lightly dabbling on og warcraft 3 and Northguard. Gonna take a look at what you recommended! Great timing for this video. Thank you!
oh, teasing with Dune2 in the intro - you bad person. At least you are giving a nod to the RTS daddy, I suppose :) Going to have to find my copy of Majesty now.
Instead of Supreme Commander, I'd add the spiritual successor Beyond All Reason. Though it's more akin to Total Annihilation, it still fills the void that those two games left behind.
I have a question - is this video about classics that are kicking butt even today or is it about the games you've plaid? I don't understand the criteria you used.
Fair question, I picked games that best emphasize the idea of building and constructing a "base" in the RTS. So think Town Centers, farms, windmills etc without becoming a city builder :) Sadly, many older games do this best. - Tom
I feel having Sins of a Solar Empire 1 &/or 2 omitted makes your list incomplete. Sure it is in space but it is still RTS with resource balancing, building, & battles. In space a starbase &/or a planet is similar to a castle.

Rise of Nations is a game I have not played in 15 years. It is a great game. Nostalgia for sure.
Excellent list. I am loving RTS this year.

You must be total pros with all your guy's gaming experience. I love the videos!
Thank you mate!
Would have loved to see Dune Spice wars on the list, thanks for the great work!
I am on an RTS roll lately Age of mythology and Command and Conquer obsessed!
Tzar looks great. Command and conquer is a must buy. I am tempted by Warcraft 3 but reforged really put me off. Great list fellas.
Thanks for the support mate!

Warcraft 3 shouldn't be bought in 2025
Also it should not have been on this list if you ask me
Thank you for watching mate!
Nah I was just giving reference points to what I have played in the past. That kind of game was only fun IRL with buddies personally.
you forgot to mention beyond all reason that's by far one of the best RTS this year
As a dude who grew up with Dungeon keeper 1 and consider it being the greatest game ever made HOW could I not have heard of War for the Overworld?! :O
Some interesting titles in that list, even for someone like me who is not much into RTS games . Thanks 🙂
I am really into RTS this year, I hope the genre can make a comeback - Tom

In baffled how many seem to have overlooked Arsenal Extended power, and Empire Earth on every rts list 😢
I always open up Steam while playing your videos and usually find at least one game to add to the wish list.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!

needs medieval kingdom wars on here
Check out the Crown of Greed demo for a very similar spiritual successor to Majesty.

Can never get enough Age of Empires! I used to spend hours at a time playing - the feedback loop is perfectly timed to make you never want to quit.
One of the best series ever! - Tom
🤩🤩💥👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
No Starcraft ... nice :/
what's the game in the thumbnail?
