Because after all, men built the world these woman live, so it's only fair they return the favor with these boundaries put in place!

I went through a bad divorce then remarried years later. I had my wife sign a prenuptial before we got married. I did that because of what I went through in my divorce. She cried a little but signed it.
But my wife was the opposite of a gold digger. We burned the prenup twenty years ago.

Note: People who are from "Rich Families" who have generational wealth, have a team of advisers who provide advice on how to maintain that wealth. That means, generally, getting a solid Pre-Nup in situations where a family member wants to marry someone of a "lower economic position". ie relatively poor. The family wealth is normally tied up in Trusts so Individuals do not actually own a whole lot in their names. The Trust owns the assets.
Still, a Westminster Pre-nup is one where the assets each spouse owns "at the time of the Nuptials, is listed out. Following marriage (or relationships in the rest of the Western world other than USA) assets accumulated during marriage is owned 50/50.
However, the USA version of a Pre-nup is actually a Pre-Divorce agreement. It covers what happens in event of things like infidelity etc and how assets would be disbursed, often child custody issues etc. Frankly, it's a mess and really only enriches the bloodsucking Lawyers. So many wholes can appear that is is difficult to enforce and many Judges will practically throw it out as people seldom stick to the multiple requirements to have it enforced.

What was the fundation of them getting married?
Jessica quite clearly wanted the luxury, the money, was digging for gold. And Jamie? He clearly sees her red flags he himself states he ignored for too long. But what drew him to her? Her looks that he himself understands are superficial? Is Jessica right about him wanting a trophy wife?
Two general things to note here: if you want a prenup then sign at early on, not weeks or months after the engagement. Be open and honest about it and don't delay.
Secondly, the whole relationship started on money. They met at a charity gala, an event where rich people show of their wealth. Of course the mones is the first she sees. He, I gather, sees her in a beautiful dress, styled to impress. That's not a very good start to real connect beyond material wealth and superficial looks. I don't get the impression their relationship evolved from that first evening in any way apart from sex. There are no feelings, no shared values, no connection in the story, only money and beauty. No wonder the relationship failed.

Jessica FAFO, though I can tell it's made up and she's like an Effigy of gold diggers everywhere. I don't understand how /anybody/ would put up with a partner like this unless she only showed this part of herself when she thought she had him around her finger. If I see a girl spending tons of money on high-end brands, unless she's the one earning the cash for that, I'm turning around and walking away. Even if she did make the money herself if it was a high percentage of her income or if her job wasn't like a lifetime career I'd still be wary. Just like I would expect any woman to walk away from a guy spending all his money on luxuries and not saving. Unless somebody is /literally/ a millionaire/billionaire, they can't afford to be spending money like that, and even then that's only if they got that rich by earning and not like lottery/inheritance.

BS Story. Fiction for clicks. The order of things are :
    1. Talk about marriage and gauge the interest and expectations.
2 If things past the discussion then talk about the Prenup and the basis of what will be in it. If the discussions on the Prenup get push back, listen to the expectations and consider them if they are reasonable. If the Prenup discussions are not able to be concluded satisfactorily then it’s over.
    3. The Prenup is accepted then comes The proposal and signing of the prenup.
    4. Only then wedding plans are started.
