Just the range of all the aircraft mods out there makes it worth it; I managed to find the very first plane type and airline (which merged and has been gone for a long time now) that I ever travelled on when I was 7 years old. Also, the third-party JoinFS multiplayer feature is absolutely brilliant, allowing for people to fly planes together and through Discord set up real voice channel scenarios with airport and ATC communication.

I did add the 64-bit P3D v4.5 so I can start migrating to newer versions of add-ons later down the pike. But I agree with you that FSX is a great sim considering its age.

Once you do get it set up with your joystick and a few keyboard bindings. i recently searched for improve video with interpolation, so, if a part has a low framerate, it is important where to interpolate and insert additional frames
At least, FSX will still be worth it until FS2020 becomes cheaper and affordable in the future and has the same amount of freeware addons as FSX. It'll be a while until POSKY, Camsim, Tom Ruth, Skyspirit, & Project Airbus adapt to FS2020.
i mean it depends if people use flight recorder. once the pilot commands are recorded, it won't be a big deal to change the camera position. however, in fast motion /time lapse the game won't run smooth if the scenery is not located on a fast ssd drive
If you still don’t have it, I have a low end windows 10 pc and it works well enough, even with addons. Just need to lower the graphics a bit to get better FPS but apart from that it works fine

Theres VERY little AI traffic airline add-ons for the MSFS 2020! 2nd the buildings and bridges seen from afar on the MSFS 2020 looked HORRIBLE! The freedom tower and other buildings seen from Newark and LGA airports looked like a giant wooden steak, and the cities are not visible at the airport whereas on the FSX New York and Newark and its bridges and other stuff are seen clearly and closer! Finally the controls and drives on the MSFS 2020 were very complicated to learn and operate, on the contrast on the FSX the controls were easy and the planes are much easier to fly. Plus theres NO GPS features on the MSFS 2020 which is the one and only way i can go from a to b! Im a keep on trying the MSFS 2020 if im still not satisfied im a uninstall it BTW you mention that theres no rain nor lighting effects on the FSX but i found a hidden trick on the settings that on default it was on high, so to have them work you have to have the special effects on MEDIUM and bingo it worked and it looks sooooo amazing!
@@Civoxa Yes, I flew the 787 (non stock) i went from Medellin to Las Vegas and the take off, in flight and landings were smooth and realistic, and it was an 8 hr flight! So 3rd party airplanes are much better and look more realistic than the stock ones.

Fsx flight control is better than fsx 2020 flight control. I fly a Cessna 182. The A2A Accusim C182 in FSX is many times better than any single engine plane in 2020. It flkes much more realistically. The graphics look great on 2020, but the photo real geography & buildings are over 7 or 8 years old. You can get great photo real ground for FSX. Don't invest in 2020 if money is tight. Wait for 2020 to get better. 2020 planes are like playing, not flying.

I would REALLY recommend you to get X-Plane 11. It should be able to get you something in the 30-45 FPS range with a few FPS boosting plugins (I searched your GPU on technical.city). Also, the graphics are MUCH better than FSX. The only downside is that X-Plane is around 40 gigs larger than FSX (at around 65gb compared to FSX's 25gb).
Microsoft should remaster this legendary game to keep its userbase alive That's what I think . A little Fixes with sound and modification with graphics shall be a good to go.
No, it doesnt run very well on low spec machines, its so old it cant use more than 1 core if your cpu and if you dont have a strong single core speed and then you're fucked
That’s a good point however I disagree with it slightly as it’s so old it can run on a old cpu quite well even though it only uses a single core, it ran well on my I5-4460 a desktop cpu from 2014 😂. Thanks for watching!

Yo I have a question, has FSX realistic physics, like when you land does it look (feel) like a realistic landing.
@@Civoxa Yes, I flew the 787 (non stock) i went from Medellin to Las Vegas and the take off, in flight and landings were smooth and realistic, and it was an 8 hr flight! And the sunset was VERY REALISTIC and BEAUTIFUL! Then when i used the stock airplanes and the take-off and landings were a bit laggy and choppy. So 3rd party airplanes are much better and look more realistic than the stock ones.
Nice I will try that with the lightning effects picking this up on sale on steam tomorrow 😏😏
The game came out in 2006 , wow am i that old?
What do they mean must have requirements Integrated keyboard and Integrated mouse. I have stand alone not integrated like a laptop.
Don’t worry mate you’re fine, it works with just about anything 👍
FSX is great with the add ons. MSFS is bloatware unless you have a top end PC and high speed broadband
Picked up a new boxed copy of this recently. Never heard of "Free Dee" cockpits before though? First time for everything i guess! lol
It is for me it still gives a lot of joy
thoughts on fs 2020?
Looks awesome in my eyes!
is it still enjoyable if you play on a low end/medium range pc?
Yeah :)
@@PilotStudd Wow! This video is old and you still replied! Thanks for the reply and I'm going to look to get fsx in the near future for my pc since it's still an amazing simulator and I have a joystick+throttle so hope I will have lots of fun 😊
@@PythonPilot1 fsx is 80% off currently on steam!!
don't get me wrong graphics aren't the best compared to newer ones but I still love playing it and it's a fab game :)
If I buy fsx without any other add ons, whether free or paid, do I still get global scenery like the philippine airports for free or do i still have to buy them aside?
Its literaly global so that means yes you can get the NAIA and Iloilo international airports for freee
I would get fs2020 but my pc not compatible… I run 2gb short of ram cuz vram requirements and I don’t have the gpu to run fs2020 so I’m getting this instead with a 747 addon
What is the 747 addon?
Best FSX review
Thank you
Cheers!
I readed, that the FSX Has problems with Windows 10, is that true?! I have Windows 10 and i dont want to buy a 25€ Game that doesent Start, work, crash or black screen just Like GTA IV. If the Steam Edition works for Windows 10 without problems i would buy. The reason why i dont buy the 2020 Version is because i dont Like it. The 2020 Version Has a lot of Bugs and glitches, missing objects or wrong placed objects or dumb water hills. I also dont Like Xplane 11 because of its price. please Tell me that FSX work on Win 10 btw which Version of win 10 Do you use (if you use win 10)
Yep it works, I used it on Windows 10, perfectly fine 😄
@@PilotStudd how fast Do you answer!? Cool!! Ok so i think the CD Version of This game is Trash then and the Steam Edition is good. The thing is that i saw a post on the steam community where someone tried Installing The FSX:SE that didnt worked then. Do i have to download any mods to get This working or something Like This?
ZoLuX I only had a few freeware mods to make it look like how it looks but it’s mostly default on this video, steam edition should install like any other stream game ✈️
@@PilotStudd ok thanks very much! Like :)
@@PilotStudd hello Pilot Studd, I got another question, can you travel to Russia or Germany in this game? I mean i need Germany because I live there but is the whole world in this game? And can you make a video where you show the top 5 mods for FSX (I don't pay 40€ to make the terrain look good at 9 meters from the sky) Thanks for an answer and have a great day
Until Release of fs2020, i still prefer fsx because of the aircrafts available...
Is it a demanding game. Would a vega 11 and ryzen 5 3400G run it smooth?
I would REALLY recommend you to get X-Plane 11. It should be able to get you something in the 30-45 FPS range with a few FPS boosting plugins (I searched your GPU on technical.city). Also, the graphics are MUCH better than FSX. The only downside is that X-Plane is around 40 gigs larger than FSX (at around 65gb compared to FSX's 25gb).
I should also mention that since FSX was released 15 years ago, it doesn't really know how to fully utilize modern hardware.
The Addons are fantastic
Is it only for Windows 7?
Definitely FSX steam Edition plus Orbx add-ons in 2021 absolutely a different simulator than the original Microsoft FSX
im pretty sure W10 can run this (Windows 10)
Will this game work on 2gb ram?
Microsoft should remaster this legendary game to keep its userbase alive That's what I think .
A little Fixes with sound and modification with graphics shall be a good to go.
This is a joke right...
the older flight sim has cooler stock planes and add-ons such as the Concorde!
Nie nawidze tego akcentu XD ale oglądam
I still use it to fly the PMDG aircraft as the default in fs 2020 are terrible.
what is the airport id for city?
One word, Traffic mods! There is absolutely none for FS2020 yet.
Try to find a patch for paywares and get them free with crack
It’s good for people like me that bought it in a sale and just like doing backflips in jumbo jets
😂😂
Does anyone want to play fsx with me I just got it today and I would like to play with someone so I can learn the controls
If your offer still stands, I just got it today and I’m planning to play it after work
This seems good for an Intel Laptop with 8GB RAM (No dGPU)
I started out on FSX with an office pc with 8GB of ram and no gpu, so it should be fine!
How would this game run on a non gaming windows pc
Depending on the age and integrated graphics it should run ok.
Why have you changed the title from 2020 to 2021 opinions on it may have changed , just looking for more views I'm guessing 🙄
I changed it because my opinions haven't changed!
On dec31 every year
Everyone: “lets celebrate the night”
This guy:”lets change year in video title”
Nothing has changed so it all applies!
Thanks for watching!
i have a doubt does fsx work on windows 10
It does!
@@PilotStudd oh thank you so much for the quick reply
but will there be any error messages
jumped from fsx deluxe to fsx steam :p surely not the best decision as per few buttt couldnt let it go .... was for $2 in sale
Fair enough, happy flying! ✈️
i cant install it on windows 11
