It’s a a great bag! One of my favorites! You’re going to love it just make sure you’re extra clear with them of the color you want send them multiple examples
That Heirlook backpack you bought, was it already made, available in stock, and ready to ship by the time you purchase it or were you told after you purchased that the store needed time to make it then ship it?
Well, I ended up buying one of these, and I'm certainly glad I did. It really is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. People literally stop me in the street to ask what brand and where I purchased it. My only complaint is that the straps don't ride well on me and constantly slide down, forcing me to push them back up. The price recently went up by about $200, so I got mine at the right time.
Nice I’m glad you got it before they bumped up the price. Definitely worth it even after the price increase. I also have the same affect people constantly ask me where I got my backpack. I don’t have a problem with the shoulder straps though. I’m sorry to hear about your issues. Hopefully it’s something that could just be adjusted.

@@RoadToHeritage Would you be willing to do a 1-year after review of the Heirloom backpack? I currently have bags from Saddleback and the full grain chrome tanned leather they use makes me feel like I don't have to overbaby the bag since the scuffs and such do add character to the bags. The Heirloom's oil tanned full grain leather looks very premium and indeed far more expense than Saddleback's bags, and that makes me somewhat feel like I will be forced to baby the bag even though it is clearly a strong full grain leather. I guess my biggest curiosity is how is that Heirloom going to fare over time in terms of how it looks after it has been used for a while. Also what type of conditioner do you use for your full grain leather bags there in the video? Thanks
Hey there! I actually started with Saddleback Leather products myself and got introduced to The Leather Shop through the SBL group on Facebook. While it’s true that you don’t have to baby Saddleback Leather products, the same goes for The Leather Shop’s items. In my experience, their bags actually look better as they get more beat up-the leather becomes softer and more supple over time. In my opinion, vegetable-tanned (veg tan) leather is far superior to chrome-tanned leather. Any scratches on veg tan leather can easily be rubbed out with just your fingers. I use Bick #4 as a conditioner, and it has never changed the color of the leather; it simply conditions it and makes it even softer. Veg tan leather ages more gracefully and, in my opinion, is of higher quality than chrome-tanned leathers. I will eventually make an update video for this bag just been busy with my day job.
@@RoadToHeritage Thanks for sharing the pictures. Wow your bag has really aged well. It looks really nice, and thanks for sharing your thoughts on the bag.
Hi, I assume all, "in stock" items listed at their website is available for immediate shipment. But, how long is the wait time if you choose to do a custom color order? Their tan color is a little too red and flashy looking for me. thx
Your assumption is incorrect. Anything you order on their website usually takes about a few weeks because it’s all made to order if you have any questions like that I would email them.
What is the name and the color of the backpack on the far left? The color looks different than the backpack on the far right. Are both backpacks the same "model"? Thanks.
No, this is my everyday carry backpack, and it's very comfortable to wear. The straps are padded and adjustable to fit my body, making it easy to carry around all day. I absolutely love this leather backpack - it has developed an amazing patina over time, giving it a unique and stylish look. Additionally, there are plenty of pockets to store all of my essentials, including a dedicated compartment for my laptop. Overall, I highly recommend this backpack for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish way to carry their belongings.
@@RoadToHeritage Do you have the smaller or larger version? What size/brand laptop can it store? I read the dimensions and the 14" one seems just barely too small for my older 15" Powerbook, but I'm thinking it might fit once the top flap loosens a bit.
@@DT-vc7hd I have a 16 inch MacBook Pro and it fits perfectly and snaps in. I got the bigger version. Which already I feel like could be bigger to be honest. I wish it were an inch bigger like 17inchs
lol nice comments really add a lot to the conversation. The leather actually has become insanely soft I’ll have to do an update soon but the leather was stiff and now it’s super supple. imgur.com/a/BTsMvfx

Just ordered mine a few days ago but with double latches.
Love the pics of your aged bags!

Thank you! I review tons of their stuff about 10 years ago, but this is new. Youve outdone me. Merry Christmas!
Awesome thanks man. They make the absolute best stuff on earth. I've known them for years!

It was all custom ordered. Everything took about 3 months to make. But that was a couple years ago. I requested these colors and certain modifications

Hi, what color are those bags? I really like the way they look. Some of the other Moose Brand bags look too glossy and shiny.
Love its stout structure. Is it still holding up?
I hold four books and a pouch. Would you go heirloom backpack 16 or messenger 2
The backpack 100% it’s way more comfortable to carry and way more practical for every day use vs a messenger imo
@@RoadToHeritage you rock thanks. You know where to get discount code?

Is the Heirloom backpack the 14.5" or the 16"?
16 inch and honestly if I were to buy again I could go bigger.
