We love Viking Cruises! We've cruised with several other cruise lines and Viking stands out among the very best! We feel like we are taken care of and pampered at every turn. The ships are lovely and the people working onboard have always been nothing but kind and professional. We already have two more cruises booked with them in the next year. I can't wait to get back onboard!
It was good to hear an Australian voice-over. Note, we found the wifi needs to be improved as experienced on our three Viking trips. (Two on ocean ships and one on European River Cruise). In saying that I am a big fan of the Viking experience.
I'm glad you enjoyed the Australian voice-over! It's great to hear that you're a fan of the Viking experience, and I appreciate your feedback about the wifi. It’s definitely an area they can improve on, but in saying that it probably isn't easy to have a free wifi service that can have over 1000 users (staff included) at any one time. Worked for us most of the time although a little slow but overall a better service than what some others provide even when you pay for the service.
I ❤ Viking. I only wish that they would offer a reasonable single supplement. They do not offer a casino or kid friendly activities. They do offer an excursion at every port, all restaurants and the spa, plus wine and beer at meals
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Having a reasonable single supplement would definitely make it more accessible for solo travelers. Viking market their brand on the fact they have no casinos or kids so if you are looking for this on a cruise there are other better cruise lines to choose
Reservations in the specialty restaurants open prior to boarding for all cabin types (except the least expensive "V" cabins). Each category is allowed to pick reservations from 1 to 3 depending on cabin category (suites get 3). Not ALL drinks are included: only the house wines, beers, soft drinks and some types of water. Another advantage of Viking Ocean is that there are only 900 passengers. That does increase the cost, but is comparable to other small ships (i.e. the previous Pacific Princess).
Thanks for summarizing the key points! It's important for travelers to know the ins and outs of their cruise options. Have Viking increased speciality restaurant bookings to 3 for suites? On our last cruise a few months ago we could only make 2 pre-bookings in Manfredi's and Chef's Table and we were in an Explorer Suite.
There are a lot of premium cruise lines which include a lot more, both in terms of shore excursions and drinks (not just at meals), including Regent Seven Seas and Silversea. Also, if you book even one of the smaller suites on Celebrity Cruises, drinks are included. At many cruise lines, most, not just one, shore excursion per port would be included. And if you get air included, expect long wait times on hold, 6 AM departures, and weird routings. Definitely not one of my preferred lines.
Thank you for sharing your insights! It's always helpful to hear about others' experiences with cruise lines. Your tips will definitely help others make informed choices!
You're absolutely right! The smaller capacity of Viking ships is one of the features that many passengers love. It creates a more relaxed and intimate experience compared to larger cruise lines, and it’s definitely one of the reasons why Viking stands out. Thanks for sharing your insight!
In all your Viking videos, you talk about gratuities being included in your fare. For most of the world, they are not, so you should know your audience. I believe it is only UK and Australian customers that have gratuities worked into the fare, ie: you are paying them up front. U.S., Canada, European customers are charged $17 USD / day / person onto shipboard accounts. I suggest you take this into account with your videos.
I really appreciate your comment and the valuable information you provided! It's important to consider all our viewers, and your feedback helps me improve my content. It is true that Australians do not pay extra for gratuities which is the main audience I am catering to and yes, they do pay a higher initial base fare than guests from other countries.
I appreciate your perspective! It's always important to critically evaluate the content we consume but I make it very clear that we are not associated or affiliated with Viking in any way

I love Viking. I like the lower passenger count.
Totally agree! Adults only and lower passenger count is worth the extra cost for a better experience.

Viking ships only hold 930 passengers; so the ships are never crowded.

Sounds like paid advertising
