No hate but I really don’t get the intense love for Sirenz from most people, the beat’s nothing special and the hook sounds generic to me. But the mediocre songs on this are better than a lot of albums’s best songs
@@Flamerunner451 I think it’s JID’d best verse ever, even still to this day. I love denzels intro. Billies iconic background vocals during chorus. I truly love it. Other fav song would easily be vengeance
I disagree respectfully. That song is a honorable hit without it being a radio/TikTok darling. I can imagine the video has top 10 views within his own released work. They even dropped remixes for it... What more do people want? If he flies too high, he's too _"mainstream"_ . Denzel is at a great spot within the rap world. Music isn't even made selling music itself anymore. Now if his touring and his loyal fanbase dissipates, then that would be a problem.
@@th3thiiird3y3 I’m just saying it has the makings of a huge song with the infectious chorus and great features. I’m not saying I would prefer it to be a TikTok song I’m just saying it seems like it should be bigger than it is.
@@xdlmao42 I understand that and to clarify: I never assumed you preferred it in that vein (of being known via TikTok). Amongst his listeners, I believe Black Balloons to be quite a popular song. If anything, I wish GoldLink's last couple of albums received more attention. *HARAM!* was a bit odd at times, however, he has a few gems on there. I do hope Dad & Son give *At What Cost* a listen. A must for the modern DMV scene.
Ok so... I've seen some confusion in video and I don't mean to be the nerd emoji here but let me just clarify one thing. It's very easy to overlook and I feel like Denzel kinda did it on purpose but the "acts" of the album don't really refer to the sound of the songs (or at least not only). The split is kind of more suposed to symbolize Denzels state of mind in the greater context of the story told in TA1300. Let me explain: In songs from ACT 1 (like Cash Maniac and Black Ballons) Denzel raps about a lot of drug/fame related problems. In ACT 2 songs focus on various problems connected to his personal life but also life as a musician. ACT 3 is kinda supposed to show how he's dealing with the problems (or how he dicides to take action). So... in short, the meaning of the acts would look something like: The Act I: Light - Not being able to recognize the problems around you/numbing the pain with drugs The Act II: Grey - Realization of the problems The Act III: Dark - Taking action/Revenge on people who are the source of the problems Of course you don't really have to understand the meaning of the acts to enjoy the music. I wanted to clarify it just beacuse I feel like the whole concept of the album and the execution of it is not noticed and talked about enough by the general audience. Anyways, loved the video. Ta13oo is one of my favourite albums of all time and honestly, Denzel is just so underrated man. Can't wait for ZUU reaction
@@turningthetablesThanks guys. Absolutley love your videos, some of them are almost nostalgic for me lmao. Can't wait for more Denzel (and also it would be amazing to see an Exmilitary reaction)
@@turningthetables I feel like "Denzel Curry's Misunderstood Masterpiece" a video by The Manic Pineapple expands on this really well, 100% worth a watch
Imo the acts are divided up by tone/outlook of the issues he talks about. In act 1, while yes, he talks about issues, his outlook is relatively positive. Denzel has hope that they can be fixed. For example on black balloons “suicides not a mission” and hopefully one day the pain will stop. Act 2 is less hopeful and he has a less positive view on issues. It’s hard to give example here since it’s kinda an in between Finally on act 3 Denzel curry is not hopeful. He’s lost faith in the world and has resorted anger and heavy emotions
Important to remember a lot of the motivation for him becoming the 'Black Metal Terrorist' and taking revenge is the murder of his brother by police brutality
Love this channel man, especially the vinyls in the background. My dad was the reason I got on Daft Punk, Wu-Tang it can't go wrong from there. someone put it perfectly by saying jid is like reading a book and denzel is like reading a comic book, both amazing and both versatile but very unique with distinct styles
Such a good fucking album. Denzel has a better discography than 80% of rappers. Hes gonna go down as one of the best rappers of the 2010s 100%. He just does it all. His production is way more immersive than most rappers, on the level of a Travis Scott while his rhyme schemes and vocal diversity are on an extremely high level. Hes also great at catchy hooks and his pen has gotten extremely sharp in recent years. His albums are extremely replayable yet all different, and that’s one of the most impressive things about him. Not a single album sounds the same and that can’t be said for most rappers. I heard a lot of these songs live and shit was incredible. Dudes an unreal performer, he doesn’t miss a single beat or take a breath it’s kinda insane.
Idk of 2010s, he competing with Kendrick, J Cole and Drake of that era. I’d say 2014 and on maybe. Denzel and JID are the only artist worthy of the holding the crown for next gen

Denzel really is underappreciated in the fact that he has had major influence as far back to raider klan, with spaceghostpurrp, coming up out of Florida with X, being apart of the most iconic XXL freshman class, and being a prominent figure in todays "conscious" rap game, while still being under the age of 30, he really doesn't have a single project that's just average either (okay I'm done glazing)
There is a 3rd part to Black Balloons too, with Black Balloons (reprise) from Flying Lotus. There are 3-4 versions of the reprise, the album version with just Denzel. The GTA version with a Mac Miller verse (IIRC FlyLo wanted this on the album but he didn't want to ask Mac's mom at the time since he just died so scrapped it), and a leaked version with another Mac Miller verse but no Denzel Curry (which is likely the recording session). There is also an unofficial mashup that mixes the 2 Mac verses into the FlyLo album version.
