Hello Charlotte! Came across you while scrolling UA-cam and watched the apt hunting video. Thought I’d find you annoying since I’m 75 and air annoys me but I find your excitement quite refreshing. I vaguely remember being where you are in life with the whole adventure spread out before me. Back then it was “climbing the corporate ladder”. You’re quite fortunate to have a creative and fun alternative to that. Congratulations!!! Everything is coming along quite nicely. Love the utensils, butcher block and fairy lights! Highly recommend getting a coffee table where the top lifts up so you can eat/work at your couch.
You should put the shoe cabinet in the closet and then get a consul table to match your tv stand and put that where the shoe cabinet was x
Hide your modems and such in “fake” books. You basically have a hard cover book shell and put it so that the book binds are facing out.

for the media center you could put a basket in the bigger compartments and put throw blankets!!!
You can always do side gigs on Task Rabbit assembling furniture. Too bad those delivery guys must have dropped the couch and probably thought you wouldn't notice the damage because most people put couches against a wall
I never thought about Task Rabbit but I’m gonna look into it!!
For your bed, buy a larger bed cover so if your bed is a double buy a queen and your bed cover will cover the sheets.

What about putting some legs on the shoe storage cabinet to give it some height? Then the proportions will be perfect, and you'll be able to lean a picture over the fuse box.

Rule of thumb ladies, when furniture delivering ask them to stay and/or sign so you can inspect your furniture before they leave. I seen it as soon as the turned the curve to the living area and seeing the spot in the same area shows they hit a corner bringing it up to apartment and knew before placing it in the space.
So smart - I did ultimately get a replacement one (spoilers 🤭) and made them wait so I could inspect the whole thing
Yes, you always inspect the furnitures or anything that is delivered before you sign off on it or let them go. They knew, plus didn't even care enough to not drag part of it on the floor.

Be sure you wash, dry in the sun and oil your cutting boards before you use them. Very important! Also do the same for any wooden utensils and you can use clothes pegs for clipping your bags shut, a lot cheaper to buy.

You are doing an awesome job . For the tv console you can use cord covers to hide the wires. Love how independent you are.
I have a similar media console, and bought two taller slouchy baskets for blankets, gloves and hats, dog items…hides a mishmash of necessities and looks super cute. Home Goods or Target are good resources!

Your place is coming together so nicely!! It's making me excited for my own upcoming move to a new (bigger) place this summer. Another idea for kitchen counter space: it definitely looks like you could find/make/get made a table that could fit between the left end of your counter and that window and still have space underneath for your trashcan or at least a slightly smaller one. I have a similar awkward gap situation between my fridge and the stove and in a place with limited counter space. It's amazing how much having an extra 1.5 or 2 feet of counter improves everything. Even if you only put your air fryer and decor on it that clears up space right next to your stove which is nice for cooking.

Hey as a 24 year old living on her own as well I highly suggest dollar tree or places like that for stuff. It's amazing what you find there for so cheap instead of bying the same thing somewhere else for so expensive

Small wire baskets for blanket storage would be so cute on one side of the console
I love those green chairs! Once you get your couch I’d get a long, skinny dining table and put against your windows and use those green chairs at the dining table.
I’d also like to add that you could get a backless bench to slide under the table and pull it out for extra seating at the table.
I had the same vision for the space!!

You could put your toaster and air fryer in the cabinet. I get mine out everything I use it and put it back. That way I don’t have to clutter my counters
Hi Charlotte. Can I make a suggestion go and look at Alexandra Gater. She decorate small apartments . For your different baskets maybe find some thrift stores and look at what they have. This will cut costs with looking for items that is needed. In your entry way you could use win-scone light and put them on the wall and use battery operated lights. This will lighten up your entry way. You could also cover up the electrical box with a brushed gold mirror that matches the hard ware on the shoe console. A round mirror would look great. Loving what you have done so far.

Do you have room to put some kind of small island counter? If so it'll really help with storage and extra counter space.
Could you put one chair in front of the balcony window,( where you had the two together) and the other across from it near your ladder shelf? Better for conversation.
I thought about that too but you wouldn’t be able to walk through either of the sides of the couch bc the chairs stick out too far :/

You should a door caddy for the bottom cabinet to store your dish soap and brushes.
I was going to suggest the same thing. Even a cute dish soap dispenser would look better than a Dawn bottle sitting out. Definitely need a door caddy for brushes, sponges, sink stoppers, etc.

Your apartment’s looking great!! Sorry about the couch, it seems like nothing seems to ever go as smoothly as we expect either so I get the struggle. Also I feel you on the “girl math” with adding the white glove service with the couch, I’ve used that same logic so many times 😅 Like when my Xbox Series S went out and I was initially just planning to get another, but then was like “well I’m already gonna be spending $300 on a Series S, might as well spend an extra $200 and get the Series X instead” 😂

I mean with taxes and deliver and fees it came out to about $1200 but still! That’s why it’s called Bob’s “discount” furniture I suppose!
Are your kitchen cupboards all full? If not, why not store your toaster and knife block etc in a cupboard to free up more counter space.
They're pretty full, yes! But I definitely like knowing it's an option if I need more counter space at any point
